Another Bryce Young fanatic
-
Bleh kind of the kiss of death here. Dan Orlovsky was once a committed Sam Darnold believer.

I get both arguments in favor and against. But I think Richardson has a solid chance of being pretty good if he ends up on the right team with the right coaches.

I mean true. But that can be applied no matter which QB we draft. If we are being honest Chark is borderline playing with glass ankles. WR is still a top need in this draft.

Bryce Young will be the best QB ever in Charlotte

But you're anointing a 20 year old kid who is undersized and has not even set foot on an NFL football field yet while taking the opportunity to dunk on the only two long term starting QB's for this franchise in over 25 years. Not even the pro Stroud folks are generally taking hype this far. I'm definitely seeing things about you pro Bryce folks and it isn't anything good. But carry on with your hype machine. -

If you're going to denigrate the only MVP in Panthers history you may want to adjust your expectations for whichever QB we take at 1. -

I think OP is moreso just highlighting how good Mark Williams is. But you do have a point. Apparently it's worthy of a poo to mention Clifford's penchant for playing veterans over young guys like it's never happened before. Maybe some folks are too used to this and just accept it now. I say no thanks.

Yeah and Young skipped everything at the combine anyways. Well outside of the weigh in. Which he then skipped again at his own pro day. We keep hammering each other on the size and durability discussion but I find myself circling back to the combine. Why didn't he participate anyways? Was it because he was concerned about his shoulder? It's just rather odd for a guy under consideration for the top pick. We can argue over the significance of that in terms of the evaluation process but it's just a red flag to me. If we hadn't traded up and given up talent and resources to get to 1 that would be different but given that we did some of this is problematic to me and I'm surprised it isn't talked about more given the level of hype some have been making for Young.

I mean physically he's got everything so I could find a silver lining there but I don't want to watch a Darnold rerun.

Watch Kyle Shanahan turn Darnold into a Pro Bowler

Even without Purdy getting hurt they got exposed IMO. -

Maybe for a few games but eventually Sam will do what Sam does. -
I'm beginning to think this is all just a smokescreen and Anthony Richardson is the guy.

Anthony Richardson it is

If Stroud has a Teddy Bridgewater build then Young has a Johnny Football build. If we're gonna talk poo we're gonna talk poo

Oh no you didn't lol

You are correct there isn't enough data. Specifically for Bryce's height and weight. We have examples of QB's 6 foot 210 range. But not 5'10 185-190 it just isn't there. Well Doug Flutie but I mean cmon lol. For me this really boils down to weighing risk vs reward. That is what the staff and Fitterer will have to decide on. If they think he's worth the risk based on his other intangibles then make the pick. He could go on to become a star. Of course there's also the possibility on the other end of the spectrum. And that one ends with folks losing their jobs.

Damn you're still harboring hate for that man eh? Awful existence.

Many things are said about this from angles that make an argument look better. If you do a dive for injuries to larger QB's I would assume a great many of them are lower body injuries which just about any player is going to be susceptible to. IE the Joe Burrow argument for most recent. But if the correlation for this were that smaller QB's are less likely to be injured and therefore more likely to be successful why aren't there many many more of them to list and also in the NFL hall of fame? Just some things to consider.

He was also drafted about 40 years ago.
