It's structured to benefit us I'm not too worried about it. But we need to hit on another WR in the draft. If it's me I still take one in the 2nd or 3rd round.

25 million is a good chunk of change. Everyone and their momma knew we were desperate. That's the downside to trading away your best wideout.

I'm just ribbing you a bit man it's fine to be wrong 🫶

Solid signing all things considered. He brings much needed leadership. I think he'll do big things for us especially in the red zone too. I still want us to make a run at another WR though.

Well Thielen is a Panther. So much for those inside sources I guess.

How Carolina can / has already Improved the Passing Game
frankw replied to MHS831's topic in Carolina Panthers
One part of me says no way the other says we just shipped off a 25 year old WR who was our most productive in years. I see us beginning to go down the path of overinvesting in defense again. There's still time though. We'll just have to see what Fitterer and Reich have planned. -

TMJ has plenty of untapped potential but anyone expecting instant 1k+ yards out of him should temper that some. It's on Fitterer he knew when he made the move what has to be done and the short term risks. We need to hit on a solid WR in the draft regardless. -
There's going "overboard" and then there is acting like one of those crazy little league parents. The difference between myself and most who would accept either or and the pro Bryce extremists is we don't really have a performance knock on either QB except smaller things to nitpick. But one is what many consider to be undersized and the other isn't. For the past week plus I've seen negative hilarity inducing takes about Stroud to prop up Bryce Young. It just isn't necessary. I've seen the tape for both prospects. They both have the intangibles. And NFL tackles for mobile QB's are a different animal altogether from college football. Ask Sam Darnold about that

Why do people keep making this comp and saying this like Cam Newton is unable to move around on his own power or something? In 2021 he was still rushing as good or better as any young QB and that's after years of designed runs. His frame held up after years of abuse. The throwing shoulder was destroyed in the pocket.

You can post that link a hundred more times it won't make a difference in what will happen if a 300 pound defensive lineman lands on Bryce Young. Just a heads up. You extreme Young guys are making it so even the regular folks in favor of him are looking at you like you're wacked out of your mind. Take a breather for a bit.

Young checks plenty of boxes on abilities and qualities as a potential franchise QB. But let's be honest we aren't Bama fans. Well most of us. He's probably 195. He is smaller than Brees and Wilson were. I'm fine rolling the dice but if he's going to be our QB there's no reason to keep hiding from the reality of the situation. Embrace it and hope for the best if he's the pick.

He's still going to have to find some way to bulk up and we are going to have to continue to beef up the oline as much as the cap will permit. He is going to get hit a lot the first few seasons but the sense I get from some folks is we just aren't going to need to worry about it. Wrong. Do not be fooled. Our oline is still very much a work in progress.

Why Bryce young will be the pick and we should be excited

Since when is a Wilson comp a good thing anyway? He's a shell of himself and holding the Broncos hostage. -
