  1. As far as the clothes thing goes, just to put things into perspective for the young guys who think everything is new and based on the way people look at things these days, it's not a new argument or based on anything profound. Broadway Joe Namath brought out the same type on reactions with his knee length fur coats. There has always been the people who like flashy and people who don't. It's really nothing more than that. I'm much more interested in the psychological part in all of this. Cam is a powerful personality and he has the ability to wield that power in different ways. He can be both really positive and negative. It depends on where he is at personally at any given time. I've always thought that was the thing with him. Which version do you have. It was this reasoning that I made this post and why I named it THIS CAM changes everything. He seems to be in a good place mentally at the moment and he even speaks about it openly in his recent interviews. I think he knows it's an issue for him as a person and that's why he talks about where he is now and how he's following God's path and all of that stuff. He's not talking about physically nor even Spiritually. He's talking about mentally. Cam is and always has been a little out there and a bit loopy. I think he knows that and he's always working on that. Right now he's in a good place and he's using his power for good. If we can keep this Cam going then he can definitely be the spark that lifts the entire team. It's not all about his play on the field. He definitely has the skills to come in a make a difference. Especially if we use him in the way that has been mentioned in other threads around here. I personally love the rotating, duel QBs and RBs concept. I had considered that myself and I think it will work for the rest of this season. We could just run all over teams and smother them with defense. But I think his ability to lift the play of everyone around him, especially as we're so young, that could really be the biggest difference. Just like last week. It looked like the whole team fed off of his energy and played better. If we can keep positive Cam around and stay away from the other Cam then I think we can really do something this season which isn't something I really had thought possible this season before now.
  2. I have no idea what was discussed between Cam and the Panthers before they signed him but I feel like, it seems like, they made some type of agreement. What that was I could only speculate but Cam definitely has an objective. You can see when he speaks that he is choosing his words carefully and he's speaking towards something. He's speaking about retaking the stadium. Past glory. It just looks to me like he's here to not only improve our offense but to be a spiritual leader for these young guys. Whether or not that's all on him or it's part of an agreement I don't know but since this ticket thing happened so quickly with he team's support I would think this is all part of an agreement. It fits Cam perfectly and should really help the team.
  3. I'm a very reflexive person. I love reviewing my life, other people's lives, events, stories etc., and trying to look deeply into them and search for possible meanings, motivations and reasons for everything. Especially trivial ones or easily overlooked ones. Some many things happen that it's easy to miss what is really important or to focus on things that seem bigger than they really are at the expense of what really matters. I'm an admitted Homer about this team. I've said it before and I've definitely argued with some of y'all because of that. I have largely became quiet in recent weeks due to the extreme negativity that has been around since the losing streak started. I do that mainly because I know myself and I take no pleasure from such experiences and so I disappear from public discord and just check in from time to time. The signing of Cam was a shock to me and I'd assume many of you as well. I'll be honest that after the shock passed, I'm not really sure what I felt next. It wasn't anything definitive. It was a jumble thoughts and emotions. As I reflected on it, I determined that it wasn't even all about football but also about community. By community I mean here, among fans in general and among friends. I honestly didn't know what to expect and since emotions play an important part in everything in my life I honestly couldn't decide on a response. So, I had none. I've taught myself to respond this way at times of personal confusion because I've found that it works better for me. I like to give my emotions time to settle and my mind time to catch up. I often fail at doing this but I try and sometimes I succeed. This was one of those times. Last week I watched a beautiful game that made me smile for the first times in weeks about a football game. I came here and I saw, read the typical kind of responses we generally have. It was all over the place and many things were irrational and highly emotional but, and for me this was a BIG BUT, (no pun intended) It was all positive and for the first time in weeks I responded. Due to this, I really started thinking about everything about this team. It's staff, players, record, games, performances, everything. I also, of course, considered Cam. Did he win this game on the field? Not really. He played very little. Did his 2 TDs matter? Yes, definitely. Was it Cam's play on the field that made the difference in this team from the week before. No. I really don't think it did. It helped but that wasn't really the difference. So I asked myself. What was the difference? Was it Cam? My answer was absolutely YES! But it wasn't necessarily his play on the field. It was his role off the field. That's what I was seeing and having difficulty explaining. This team was lit. Cam was the spark. That spark lit a fire and when this team burns it's hot. That's what this team needed and needs. We are in a rebuild and yet we can win and we are 5-5 and despite the roof being on fire only one week ago, we are actually still very much in the playoff hunt. Then, about 30 minutes ago, I saw this. This is what we need. This is our spark. Whatever Cam does or doesn't do on the field. If he can do this OFF the field, in the locker room and come in and make red zone plays for us like last week. If that, in the end, is what he does for this team then that will be worth every penny paid because that will be enough to put us into the playoffs and with this defense, it will be enough to give us an opportunity to be the Cinderella team of 2021. It's the circle of life. Everything returns into it's right place but older, wiser and ready to finish what was left incomplete. Cam should have lifted that Lombardy many years ago. It's time for redemption. We back. Keep Pounding!
  4. I think that's the thing about being a fan. We never really know what is happening behind the scenes. The staff and coaches, even with the changes, have all spoke well of him. We always judge stats and game days but sometimes there are other things involved. But whatever it is, he seems to be coming into his prime. I think it's that plus our new staff seems to be really good at finding the right playing weight for players. We've seen many players change weight and blossom under this new staff.
  5. Lol, yeah that's happening here right now. Great game. I loved it. It was fun. Cardinals are good. They were injured on offense. Our D won the game in the first quarter. Cam brought an energy that we desperately needed. He ran 4 plays? He scored 2 redzone TDs. Always was his strength. Our fan board has a Cam pic in Super Man pose? We have posts and comments talking playoff run. We have our QB for the next few years? We can actually kick FGs now. Just last week we had posts saying we needed to fire everyone. Rhule, Brady, Fitts and start a new rebuild. We need a new owner. We are the worst team in the history of football or at least in Carolina history. Our owner needs to do more and yet does too much. Half our fans will never watch this team again. We were 4-5 and not playing well but in just 1 game something happened. We're 5-5. And we have 2 winnable games coming up so hopefully this is the moment I've been waiting for where we get that end of season mojo going that good young teams sometimes get before they breakout. Wow, what a difference 1 game can make. We still need to rebuild the offense and find our QB of the future but for now at least everything is ok. I'm just happy the mood changed around here. It's been unbearable lately.
  6. Saving the locker room and showing leadership. The offence is bad and has gotten worse week after week as the other team knows what we're doing. That's on the OC. The OL can't block, the WRs are afraid to get nailed as they are being targeted and Sam has no one open while running for his life. This is a young team and vets are frustrated and something has to change. Rhule can't let things continue as they are. They must use the same philosophy that they use with players that don't work out. You move on from a mistake and look for an alternative. Brady isn't cutting it and I'm a homer but at this point it's clear to me. Move on from Brady first and then judge the rest. Good play calling can help Sam and the OL but what we're getting isn't helping anyone. The offense looks lost and that's on the OC at this point. If it continues then that's on the HC and the Org. They need to change something and do it now or all the good that I believe they have done will be for nothing.
  7. My goodness the US is full of tacos these days. Barely a sausage to be found.
  8. Lol, typical response. some should quit bellyaching all the time.
  9. Sorry, I was just trying to fit in. I thought that was the way we rolled. Too optimistic still? I'll need more practice to get it right I guess.
  10. I don't really take people called captain slay a ho very seriously. I think your name says it all. Am I being too optimistic?
  11. I know right? Yet y'all keep doing it. 1 bad game and there are posts about moving on from our 24 year old QB with a whole 5 games on his new team full of rookies or still on the rookie contracts with 2nd year coaches and their best offensive weapon and LT out and still almost won. Not to mention our defensive leader and best corner. Obviously, all is lost and we should just fire everyone including the staff, change owners and start over. In fact, we should just move the team somewhere else entirely. That's really the only way we can never lose again and our lives will go back to being so much easier.
  12. Did you watch the KC game? Everyone has bad days. Some of you guys seem to just come out of the forests after a bad game just to tell us all how bad everyone and everything about this team is like it makes you feel smart or something. It's easy to criticize after a loss. It's much harder to find the good things and tell us how we are going to get better. But hey, whatever floats your boat I guess. I was just raised not to quit every time things don't work out the way you like. There are lots of you around these days. I sure hope for all of you that you don't live every part of your lives the way you support your football team because that would be really sad. All of you should check on Verge's post. That girl gets that it takes balls to be supportive when it's not easy. I'd take her on my team over a lot of you any day. Some of our best players and team Captains are out right now but they'll start coming back pretty soon and when we get this turned back around and go on our winning streak be sure to speak up about how much we suck so we don't forget how smart you are.
  13. Dude, stop making sense and talking from your brain. Logic and reason has no place in society anymore. Just use your emotions from moment to moment and you'll get it right and if not don't worry, the next complaints will make everyone forget about the last wrong ones you made. Brain bad, emotions good.
  14. Hehe, You're funny. I like you. Yes, I'll be your lil' buddy. The next time I rage post after a loss about how bad we are I'll be sure to invite you. But don't expect anything for at least a couple of years. But you can invite me to join you after our next loss. Cheers buddy and have a happy day.
  15. To be honest I didn't give you poo, I gave you the D. You are welcome. I hope you feel better now and know that the Huddle is your new safe space. You have earned your newest participation trophy.
  16. Have you seen the prices of hamburgers these days? lol
  17. Lol, you don't give a fug and yet you respond with caps. lol- Do you even know what years millennials are? I'm gen x and im 1972. Millennials start around 1984 not 2000. You sure act and sound like a millennial. What year were you born "bud"? My feeling weren't hurt but it seems yours are. Do you CARE about football? lol.
  18. That's the spirit! Go get a Hamburger. It might make life less difficult for you. YOu might just need more protein.
