  1. Paying a back-up/stopgap QB $6M is not "treating him poorly." Not even close. But do you have any evidence that this saga has hurt or will hurt Carolina? Can you provide tangible NFL examples of a similar scenario hurting a franchise? Because what you have here in this post is a bunch of word salad that doesn't amount to a hill of beans.
  2. How does this tangibly hurt Carolina's prospects of winning in the future?
  3. TFW you don't understand what a strawman argument is
  4. Paying him $6M for half a season wasn't enough "appreciation?" How many QBs who are done as players get that curtesy? I can't think of one. I don't think Cam is nearly as butthurt about this as many of you.
  5. Cam was a great player for the Panthers. He's the best, or at least certainly most impactful, player in franchise history. It doesn't mean Cam has a place on the Panthers roster in 2021 or 2022. He deserves a roster spot about as much as Delhomme or Gross or Smitty or Peppers deserves one right now. I am a Panthers fan first, unlike the many Cam fanboys that have come and gone, and will come and go.
  6. Cam is toast as a player and padded his bank account playing for this sorry team the second half of the season. I do not feel bad for him.
  7. He'll get another job this offseason. Players played hard for him even though he was saddled with a bum QB. Carolina would be foolish to sleep on this one.
  8. Fired Fox to replace him with a worse version of Fox to replace him with an even worse version of Fox
  9. Cam experiment went as I predicted. Wish him well in retirement.
  10. Haha. What the hell. He was so bad for the Lions that he was stripped of playcaller duties. He sucks.
  11. More likely he's flipped in a Jimmy G trade under that scenario, in my opinion. Shanny was interested last off-season. He can afford an expensive-ish backup next year with Lance being cost-controlled.
  12. I am against firing a guy after two years in most circumstances, but we need to just cut bait here and move on. Let Fitterer find his guy and give Fitt personnel control. Rhule can't make enough changes to make this work. It is obvious his circle of coaching contacts is too small and too tight-knit. No one worth a damn is going to be willing to take a one-year dead end OC job. Rhule should have loaded this staff with NFL coaching experience. Instead his hires were 75-80% his college coaching buddies.
  13. I have been against it because you don't want to be seen as a turnstile job, but he seems to have lost the team. I don't think there's any salvaging it next year at this point, so if you are going to have to fire him eventually, then you might as well do it now.
  14. He was traded because snowflakes in the front office didn't like that he didn't buy the government line on the stupid vaccines. Ridiculous reason to cut bait on him, but that was it.
  15. All are good names except for Lovie Smith, who would be a totally miserable hire. Not sure LaFleur has done anything as Jets OC to deserve a HC shot either.
  16. Darnold + pick for Garoppolo. Niners were interested in Darnold during the offseason, they will need a backup for Lance, save $6-7M on Jimmy G’s cap number and get a pick out of a guy they might otherwise have to cut.
  17. He had 12 rushing TDs last year. If he's anything still, then it's a short-yardage running threat.
  18. It's an obvious garbage report from a useless "beat writer." Bad information. What teams are signing anyone, let alone QBs, without having them in-person for a workout and physical? Ridiculous.
  19. No it isn't. He had tepid interest from Seattle that didn't advance beyond them checking in with him. He did not visit, work out, or take a physical. What other options were out there?
  20. Sam Darnold also sucks. I'm not sure I take your point. This offense needs much more than a marginal QB improvement to move the football and win games.
  21. Cam sucks. There is a strong, strong chance this will end badly. I hope I am wrong because I'd like to see him play well and the Panthers make the playoffs, but there's a reason his only real interest was from Carolina. It's a sentimental move to sell tickets more than a football move.
  22. I'm sorta in this boat. I think it's going to end poorly, but hey, who doesn't love Cam Newton around here?
