Rhule is scared to replace/bench him because he traded 3 drafts picks and guaranteed him $18 million next before he even took a practice rep. Benching Darnold would be admitting to Tepper that he fuged up and has no idea how to evaluate or coach in the NFL. If he doesn't then fans are gonna start booing them during games or just not showing up at all. Either way I think Rhule is fuged

If he benches him he has to admit he's a horrible evaluator not only with picking Darnold, but believing himself and his coaching staff could fix him. What's Rhule even good for at that point?

If Tepper isn't happy he'll pay Rhule the $50m to go away. He's probably losing that much in ticket sales per year with the team Rhule put together.

So if it's "all of it" that needs fixing after 25 games I believe that is ultimately on Rhule himself

If Rhule hadn't traded 3 draft picks next year and picked up $25m guaranteed for 2 years he wouldn't be playing right now. Can't wait to hear Rhule explain his way out of this situation

Imagine trading a 2nd, 4th, and 6th to pay this guy $25 million guaranteed and still keeping your job.

He's screwed himself into a no win position. If Sam keeps playing he looks bad for starting him/keeping him in. If he benches Sam he looks bad for starting him in the first place. Rhule basically doesn't know what he's doing

They need to try PJ while he can still have a shot at making some plays. He deserves a chance to do something besides throw over and over in garbage time

Yeah I understand that. But they're the ones who gave up 3 picks to trade for him, and decided to start him today when he's even more limited than his normal play ability. Hamstrung themselves into this whole situation

Obviously Sam doesn't want to/can't run with his shoulder injury so that's like half of Brady's coloring book. PJ can at least add another dimension. They'll wait til garbage time when PJ has no choice but to throw the ball though

And he can't run with the shoulder injury. Shoulda at least tried PJ to start off, if Sam gets benched again they're gonna have to blame it on his shoulder as an excuse

So is the goal to throw the ball back to the line of scrimmage? Horrible calls/decisions whoever is at fault. Maybe should have started the healthy QB who took all the first team reps this week. We could have benched PJ if it wasn't working out, Rhule can't bench Sam again or it'll look really really bad on the staff
