Short arms, this time Tyler Linderbaurm
micnificent28 replied to AU-panther's topic in Carolina Panthers
To be fair your comparing a massive guard to a center. Centers are generally smaller. But I agree he is small even still. -
Kayvon Thibodeaux??? How you feeling if he was the pick?

Everett brown and Brian burns went to the dame school. Schools don't determine a players traits and ability. -
Yeah But with 4-3 personnel. 3-4 works well for many teams but takes a commitment. Not a overnight thing plenty of the top defenses in the league run a 3-4.

If we draft a QB, I want Carson Strong

He looked bad at the senior bowl. Had the arm but accuracy was a mess. For that we can just roll with willis.. -
Draft day scenario - Could trading Burns be an option?
micnificent28 replied to SmokinwithWilly's topic in Carolina Panthers
Not couch potato logic just pure logic period. Yes a sack and not whiffing is ideal but even getting to the quarterback disrupting the flow of things is a challenge. Someone who consistently creates havoc. Who buys even a half a second more time for another guy to get off a block or just make the timing go off balance that can be all the difference in the world. Your the guy saying you missed the sack and he turns around like yeah where were u getting pancaked? -

This is a bad narrative. Even if He over shoots the play near misses whatever disruption is production. Meaning if I can get the quarterback out of his comfort zone or out of sync good things can happen. Just because he doesnt always finish doesnt make that any worse. your talking about a guy who consistently ranks near the top of the league here. Personally this whole thread about trading him and those saying he is overrated are not very high on football smarts. -
Agree with everything except his time table to play. This isn't the 90s..kids are playing day 1. I'm not saying he is day one ready I'm saying in a league where we talking fire rhule year 2. If you take a qb in the first he's playing year one because my job depends on it. I say let him play through his ups and downs what's the worst that can happen we look like we did this year? Have a qb throw 1 touchdown in 4-5 weeks?

Well after the senior bowl everyone is basically saying if your taking a qb Willis is qb1. I'm not even discussing Pickett at this point he arm is meh... and hand size all that and he is the dame age as darnold. I don't want this guy at all.

He doesnt get credit for cam

this sounds awfully close to segregation.

Being aggressive in free agency and trades wins.
micnificent28 replied to GoobyPls's topic in Carolina Panthers
What's to stop them from repeating the process once all is said and done. These contracts are up.... start buying up big name guys all over again who are younger and in similar situations as before? It could work similarly if you identify talent the way the rams have. Few of their targets have been busts..Leonard Floyd being the closest but even he has been productive. -
I m not saying he wasn't lazy as I said. He probably was always lazy but he has such extreme god given gifts at 6'5 240 and 4.5 speed he could get away with it. Not after the knee injury...

Matt Rhule is a difficult evaluation to me. And you add in fitter and it's hard to know who's is failing who. We say he can't evaluate talent but they had all but identified Stafford as their number 1 target and had thermal signed and sealed before Stafford himself nixed it. After than it was going from plan b to c and so on. It's fair to say they failed to see slater potential as most did have him pegged as a guard/center as well. My biggest grib with Rhule is not being able to evaluate where your own team is being aggressive giving up more draft capital for Gilmore(who can def still play) and henderson. You went all in and morgaged more of the future for a team picking in the top 10. That should get you fired. Not mentioning same himself... -
Also qoute was from Steve smith who was pissed about being replaced by Benjamin. He never played a down with the kid. He was mad at gettleman so I dout he was hanging around practices to know if he was lazy and also was with the ravens... what does he know?
-
I'm not saying he didn't play a big part in his own demise or that he wasn't lazy. I'm not gonna say he was a top 10 wr but I will say he had to be in the top 25 range and was probably more feared than that.
-
If ur being funny sure... but fact is after the knee injury he was never the same player. We make all the fat jokes all day but he shed the weight after camp. Never regained that 4.5 ish speed after acl damage.
-
Umm Benjamin was a fine pick before the injury.. I would say elite..can't say what happens once your in the league tho stuff happens.
-
If we gotta take one its WIillis... swing for the fences or go down in flames... I dont want one before end of first round but since we are at 6.....sigh.
-
I may a bit bias as a florida state fan but even without beer Google he's about our range. The key I think is not forcing a qb in a weak qb class or spend future draft capital.
-
Who's better is the question. I dout we can pull the big 3.. watson, rodgers or wilson.Wilson. whose left?
-
Well 30 passing touchdowns with 5 thousand yards passing is nothing to laugh about. Also a pro bowl season. Yes I know he threw 30 ints as well so it's about a push not adding in rushing touchdowns. He has to be a better option than Jimmy G as well. I'm not saying he wins us a super bowl or this is the best option available. But with what we have and no draft picks.. we have to get creative. He's a mid level talent I believe.
-
The idea is we draft a tackle and are active I. Free agency. If you draft a tackle and pass on qb I don't think their are many options better Than him unless you miracle swing rodgers or watson over pay. But yeah you fix the line and that's about the level of play you would be looking at. A guy who can win you some games or lose you some. He's better than Sam.
-
People are laughing but this isn't as bad an idea as many think. He has never thrown more ints than touchdowns and has even made a pro bowl. Sam has thrown more ints than tds twice so Winston is already better than him. Yes he makes some bad throws but some good ones as well. Is he the future of the team? No.. but I think you can get to the playoffs with him in a bad qb class.

no just no
