Glass half full…..we now own the number 6 overall pick
Icege replied to WarPanthers89's topic in Carolina Panthers
I'm gonna trust your math because I'm hammered and really don't want to get sad trying to find out exactly how poo we are. -
One of the main reasons I'm campaigning for Linderbaum with our first round selection. The dude is the best offensive lineman in the draft. That's what was said about Rashawn Slater last season (was my primary choice followed by Fields), and he's been beasting out in LA. Christensen has looked like ass as an LT tb100. As an LG? Ok there might be something there. In an ideal world, Deonte Brown turns out to be a mobile mountain at RG and then we're looking for a stopgap at LT (or get lucky developing a day 3 guy). Charles Cross looks like a really, really good LT prospect though. I wouldn't be mad if the team went with him.

He blocks as well as his immune system does vs. COVID
-
At this point I'm just hoping that they leave an OL with more than just Moton on it for the next staff.
-
I'd take Linderbaum. A center touches the ball on every play and adjusts blocking assignments. I've seen folks reference him as an iOL as if a center and a guard are remotely the same, but the dude is a stud. Throw him between Christensen and Brown, sign a veteran LT, and then reeeeeeeeee

In range for #3, at worst #9! -
May I introduce you to Tyler Linderbaum, the best offensive lineman in the draft?

That's why they play defensive back. HUEHUEHUEHUEHUEHUE

Myles pls

Beautiful stunt by YGM + Brown Luvu has played his way into a contract imo
-
Omg Chuba caught a ball
-
Nixon has been an OC for barely a month and he's already been downloaded by NFL DCs. This team continues to find ways to punch themselves in the dick.

Saints knew the audible. Gross.
-
Pls retain Reddick + Luvu

The Jets crushing the Bucs makes me irrationally angry at this staff. idk if that's the straw that broke the camel's back for me, but holy poo is it fuging infuriating to get stomped out by the Bucs after they got shut out only for the fuging Jets to be beating their asses. Holy fug

Never would I have thought I would be begging for Richardson back.

Nah, I'm forever good on JR. We'd have had a new owner anyways just by nature of aging alone. -
Tepper embarrassed by Rhule. Rhule lost locker room.

Going to be very, very interesting to see how this works out. If the team rallies behind Rhule to close out the final two games, then he might have the ammunition that he needs to convince Tepper to give him another season. He'll have to have an offseason plan as well that shows that he's fixing the offense. If the team continues to look the way they have, or worse, then he's done. -
Glad to hear they're healthy!

Matt Rhule responds to scathing report of volatile culture
Icege replied to ladypanther's topic in Carolina Panthers
Person wrote the article that led to the blow up. Here he is yesterday asking about Christensen playing LT. Granted it's a yes/no question, but to say that the exchange was awkward is an understatement 90 Day Fiance levels of cringe. -

The way he responded to Person's question about Christensen with just "Yes" had me cackling -

Tremble and Gross-Matos are developing well, and we still don't really know in what we have in Christensen let alone Deonte Brown. Same thing with Nixon & Hoskins. Taylor has also looked good. My biggest concern is the coaching staff being capable teachers and developing the clear talent that we have. -

1) No argument here. 2) The 2022 salary cap has nearly $185M committed to it. The 2023 salary cap has barely $120M committed to it. 3) Derrick Brown, Jaycee Horn, CJ Henderson, Yetur Gross-Matos, Jeremy Chinn, Terrace Marshall Jr, Brady Christensen, Tommy Tremble, Chuba Hubbard, Bravvion Roy, Daviyon Nixon, Keith Taylor, Deonte Brown, Shi Smith, Phil Hoskins, and Stantley Thomas-Oliver III are all under contract through 2023. Jeremy Chinn is the best draft pick out of that group, sure, but to say there's no talent is asinine. 4) If that's the case, then we've got a QB to gamble on to keep the Huddle sadbois happy for a week or two. Weeeeee!!! -

Tepper knows that with the resources wasted on rushing to appease him at QB that he's got nothing to attract top flight coaching to the team with next season. Force Rhule to go with the team that he's created, fire him when it all falls apart as expected, and then bring a coaching staff in. The books will be cleared up, there will be talent under rookie deals, and they might even get their pick of a rookie QB depending on the team's final record. But I mean, sure, go ahead and try to create another sunk cost. It's not like the team has already gotten worse with that approach. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ -
Y'all, it gets even worse the more you read. Part of me can somewhat understand the current defensive issues. They built a defense designed to rush the QB and create turnovers because they were supposed to have an offense that moved up and down the field at will, effectively eliminating the running game for opponents simply by running the score up. The other part of me can't understand why the coaches thought that it would actually work. Holy poo this is bad. The brand has to be adhered to, or it doesn't have to be, but it's the best way? What in the fug? This supposed to be one of Rhule's trusted managers, and he's like "Yea... you can do it or you don't have to, but it's better to do it." I... I can't right now. Get rid of him. Any team that is not a meritocracy is not a team that I want. Stop putting these comfortable pieces in place and start putting competitive ones in instead.
