Both currently have abysmal TE rooms. JAX: Hunter Long, Brenton Strange, Johnny Mundt, Shawn Bowman, Patrick Murtagh NYJ: Jeremy Ruckert, Zack Kuntz, Neal Johnson, Stone Smartt JAX needs an RT like you said though... could go with the big boy in Membou to play across from Walker Little. Positional value is there which would keep the Khans happy as well. I think on the off-chance that the Jags trade with Chicago should they want to jump LV for Jeanty that they'd probably sit pretty at #10 and scoop him. I'm still leaning towards the Jets unless Graham is still on the board. Shoot... I wouldn't be too upset with the Panthers trading back and letting another team (Indy?) take him at #8 (especially if they land Ez wherever they land :3)

Panthers Prospect Visits/Meetings (Final Update-4/22)
Icege replied to kungfoodude's topic in Carolina Panthers
Some similar trades that have taken place: 2019 - PIT trades #20, #52, and a 2020 third-round pick to DEN for #10 to select Devin Bush, LB, Michigan 2021 - CHI trades #20, 2022 first-rounder, 2021 fifth-rounder, and a 2022 fourth-rounder to NYG for #11 to select Justin Fields, QB, Ohio State 2022 - NO trades #18, #101, #237, 2023 first-round pick, and 2024 second-round pick to PHI for #16, #19, and #194. They then traded #16, #98, and #120 to WAS to move up to #11 and select Chris Olave, WR, Ohio State (WAS took Jahan Dotson, WR, Penn State at #16) -
This has got me curious... especially since we've been hearing that ~500yds number as a possible indicator of success for a drafted WR. brb, compiling data that nobody but me and other people with an unhealthy football obsession might be interested in T_T

I don't think Warren makes it passed the Jets, myself. And that's if he makes it passed the Jags.
-
He went to the Jets last year. Cowgirls drafted Tyler Guyton to be their LT in the 1st afterwards. Could still be in the market tho like you said. Guyton had some rookie struggles and if they think they have somebody with higher upside available...
-
Definitely need to start planning now for life without TMo, but I don't know if the team is going to have somebody just as good on the roster. I like BC, but he's on a 1yr deal. Got a feeling we might see that 2nd round pick used on an OT if there's a decent one still available.

Agreed. Especially an edge that can kick inside and play the 3-tech and/or an edge that can reliably drop back into coverage as well. Those rush packages would have the opposing offensive line in absolute fits.

Link to the full mock Panthers' selections: 1.8 - Jalon Walker, LB/EDGE, Georgia 2.57 - TJ Sanders, DT, South Carolina 3.74 - Jack Bech, WR, TCU 4.111 - Billy Bowman Jr, S, Oklahoma 4.114 - Dorian Strong, CB, Virginia Tech 5.140 - Demetrius Knight Jr, LB, South Carolina 5.146 - Caleb Rogers, G, Texas Tech 5.163 - Jarquez Hunter, RB, Auburn 7.230 - Maxen Hook, S, Toledo

I think that they sit tight at #3. Titans seem to be in love with Ward, which means they'll get either Hunter or Carter. If the Browns go Hunter, Carter still helps them out by giving them not just a deeper pass rush but more flexibility in the budget. 2025 Brian Burns - $29.75M Kayvon Thibodeaux - ~$10M 2026 Brian Burns - $30.75M Kayvon Thibodeaux - Bonus option? 2027 Brian Burns - $32.5M ($14M dead cap if cut) 2028 Brian Burns - $32.5M ($7M dead cap if cut) Drafting Carter would allow them to move Thibodeaux if they can't keep him or get out from under Burns' contract in 2027 if they decide to work out a substantial second deal for Thibodeaux.

I can't even begin to imagine what you have going on in your life that makes you such a miserable little prick on a daily basis. It most certainly isn't Panthers' football, but I hope it gets better for you.

Tyler Warren ranked as their #8 overall player? Looks like they're high on Shemar Stewart and Mykel Williams as well, though I can see them getting the nod over Ez + JPJ because the former have clear bull rushes and whether or not the latter can convert speed-to-power vs. grown men playing OT in the NFL we'll just have to wait and see. Glad to see JT round out the top 8. Surprised that they've got Swinson and Powell-Ryland as low as they do. One of these guys is going to be competing at FS for the Panthers.

Let's gooooooooooooooooooooo I always enjoy comparing my assessments with Brugler and team's. It's especially fun to go back and check back out past draft picks' profiles.
-
Damn! Sucks to see Sam go, but the Nick Scott signing makes more sense now seeing that we see Sam is getting $500k more to head to SF. I think he was hoping to get $2.5M - $3M but best he could get was $1.5M.

After looking at the Panthers' mock, I might need to go to the doctor in 4 hours for... reasons...

gawd dayum 6'9" is a red zone target if he's got the goods

Thank goodness I felt like I was crazy because that flaw LEPT off of the screen to me but nobody was even talking about it. Going to watch some freshman + sophomore tape again this week along with both Texas games. Something undeniable about Williams is that his presence was felt in some of Georgia's bigger games.

If Carter falls past 3 or 4 do you pick up the phone?
Icege replied to micnificent28's topic in 2015 NFL Draft
If he falls to #3 I got a feeling that Dan is texting Joe -
At pick 57 and Shavon Revel Jr. is still available??
Icege replied to Basbear's topic in 2015 NFL Draft
Yes. Yes. Yes. -
He'd make a living as a 3rd down pass rush specialist at the very least. I'm a little concerned about how he'll hold up against the NFL run game and an NFL OL because his game revolves around his speed, agility, and tenacity. If he can convert speed-to-power against pro linemen tho? He's going to be goooooood.

I would do it and feel nothing but pure joy. Ez was the most fun prospect to armchair scout this offseason for me. Even more so than Tyler Warren.

Panthers Prospect Visits/Meetings (Final Update-4/22)
Icege replied to kungfoodude's topic in Carolina Panthers
I'd argue that Ohio State + Georgia were more talented overall, but yea that Bama roster was definitely top-10, arguably top-5. I'd say #3 behind the others listed. -
Reason for Liking or Disliking Prospect X at 8 Overall
Icege replied to CarolinaLivin's topic in Carolina Panthers
Try to trade back, but in order of preference... Mason Graham, DL, Michigan - Possibly the top DT in the draft Tyler Warren, TE, Penn State - TE1 plus clear top 10 talent in this draft class that fills a need. Can block, open up things underneath, run after the catch, and run the seam. Donovan Ezeiruaku, EDGE, Boston College - My favourite EDGE prospect to have scouted this offseason outside of 2023 JT Tuimoloau and 2024 Abdul Carter. Let him rotate behind Clowney/Wonnum and then potentially start on the weakside. Jalon Walker, LB/EDGE, Georgia - Would fit Evero's scheme insanely well and pair well with Wallace who could be the coverage LB while Walker is the guy that the QB has to guess if he's coming or not. Emeka Egbuka, WR, Ohio State - Will immediately fill in for AT once he's gone (or if he goes down) and is able to run a large portion of the route tree. Malaki Starks, S, Georgia - His freshman + sophomore tape is elite and he'd immediately start as FS1. Mykel Williams, EDGE, Georgia - Loooooooong arms and other traits that gives him the prototypical build that scouts loves. Also showed elite tape as a freshman as a 3-4 OLB, showed out well as a sophomore, but his recent season he played with an injured ankle all season long. Shemar Stewart, EDGE, Texas A&M - Insane measurables, solid pressure rate, good run stopper, but there's questions galore about that pressure to 4.5 sacks rate. Will Johnson, CB, Michigan - Mike Jackson's deal allows him to be cut after just one season if the Panthers find a partner to put across from Jaycee Horn. James Pearce Jr, EDGE, Tennessee - Lots of questions due to recent reports regarding character and coachability, but performed against top SEC talent at a position of need for the Panthers. Armand Membou, OT, Missouri - Word is that Moton's knee is done and the Panthers need to find an RT for life afterwards. The preferred method would be to bring in a guy to develop behind Moton for a season, but having Membou means having a big body that can plug in right away should Moton go down. This would leave Christensen to take over at any other spot on the line should there be another injury. -
No, but considering that over a third (~35%) of their schedule are the other three teams in the NFC South and all three have strong starting (and back-up) RBs that the offense leans heavily on to open up the pass game. ATL: Bijan has this season and next season before the Falcons have to make a decision on his fifth-year option, Tyler Allgeier is a proven back-up RB that could start for some teams, and 2024 sixth-round selection Jase McClellan returns from a knee injury that sidelined him for the remainder of the season starting in early September. Combine that with their QB situation, and that's a team that is going to lean heavily on the run just like they did last season when they were 8th in the league in rushing attempts, 10th in rushing yards, 8th in rushing TDs, 9th in rushing attempts on 1st down, . NO: Similar situation as ATL, but for different reasons. Derek Carr is in the second to last year of his deal and the QBs behind him are Spencer Rattler, Jake Haener, and Ben DiNucci. However, they also have Alvin Kamara. One thing that we know about Kellen Moore from his stints as an OC is that he likes to lean heavily on a versatile RB1 while bringing in an arguably equally versatile RB2 to keep their foot on opposing defenses. When Moore had Zeke in Dallas, Zeke was 4th in the league in touches during those four years but Pollard still averaged 10 touches and nearly 60yds a game. Look for the Saints to shore up their RB room in the draft with Kendre Miller, CEH, Jordan Mims, and Xazavian Valladay all competing for touches behind Kamara. TB: Bucky Irving exploded onto the scene last season, but we can't forget more than capable (now-)RB2 Rachaad White. White is on the last year of his rookie deal, but Irving is under contract until 2028. Last season, the Bucs were 10th in rushing attempts, 4th in rushing yards, 3rd in YPC, 7th in carries of 20+, 8th in carries of 40+, and 7th in first down rushing attempts and that helped Baker Mayfield be one of the most efficient passers in the league with a 71.4% completion percentage (good enough for 2nd in the league).
