  1. Sorry, I've missed seeing your posts. Don't feel slighted lol. I've been avoiding this place because of the toxicity. Look once a week mostly skimming topics. How he throws is how he has been throwing his whole football life. It is what it is. I still maintain that Young adjusted his throwing action because of the conditions. Even Eddie Pineiro said after the game that the winds were swirling.
  2. Many posters are saying Young's throws were slow. Funny, I haven't seen that comment in threads on other weeks nor in predraft evaluations. Not even in Panthers Twitter/X where they tear everything apart. This place has gotten so toxic. So let's consider this scenario for those who enjoy counting the speed of throws. It's raining. Heavy rain most of the game and even when it went to light rain everything/everyone was wet. Very wet. And maybe not 30mph wind gusts but the wind was enough of a factor that Tabor called a timeout so Hecker was punting with the wind. Now, in those conditions, as a receiver, would you want a speedball coming your way or a slower ball, easily catchable, no matter what gloves you have on? Bingo! And as for the pass defenders, everybody was running slower with bad footing because of the conditions. Everybody. Bryce Young intentionally threw slower balls because of the conditions so his receivers had better chances of catching them. Kid is smart. Smarter than some Huddle posters. Even Josh Allen has said he does that in bad weather games. I'd say it's QB101. Now, he may still end up being another Ryan Fitzpatrick ["Too much magic. Too much magic." but I digress.] Right now he's our QB1. Rookie mistakes, yes. Things to work on offseason, yes. But I'll cheer him and the team to victory every time and celebrate when they win.
  3. So, does this end the need-an-offensive-minded-head-coach experiment?
  4. I've been saying this for a few weeks now. He's the one that should've been fired by Reich let alone now.
  5. Thank you @kass. I hadn't seen that. Calm, cool & collected ....... coach and QB. Love it!
  6. This is true. Jeremy needs to fix his server so "x.com" embeds the same as "twitter.com".
  7. We blame Ickey for inadequate play but there were a few things I noticed that might have us thinking it wasn't all his fault. The RG Throckmorton slid right, leaving Ickey on an island and the RG ended up blocking no one. Brown gave Ickey no help. Not even a chip. Nor was there a check down throw for Bryce. On at least 3 of those sacks Bryce stood still, flat footed, in the pocket for 2+ seconds before he was hit. Why didn't he roll to his right or throw the ball away?
  8. I've been saying all along that a rookie QB needs a good stout defense to win. Let's do it gain!
  9. Sean Worship Me Payton hurting always makes me feel good.
  10. I hope this was snark. Because blaming victims is never ever, never ever, never ever a good idea. ------------ Richardson had it in his will that the Panthers were to be sold after he died. He didn't trust Mark or Mrs. Richardson. He simply enacted that clause early.
  11. Not me because Bryce has to learn to not only trust the play calling and their ability to see and figure out defenses from experience but to also take their experience and combine it with his own, with trusting himself. Comparison is the best way. Mistakes will be made and that's a good thing. His processing needs tweaking and it will take time. That's what Frank means when he says Bryce needs to feel comfortable in his own skin; he's not there yet. It'd be the same whether it's Reich or Brown calling plays. At some point soon the light bulb will turn on, I believe in the kid. I don't know if anyone remembers but Chudzinski gave Cam one play and did not let him make audibles at the LoS. So what was Cam left with when the play broke down? Making the play himself, either running around the backfield to avoid sacks or scrambling down the field for yards. I don't know if that is suitable for Bryce.
  12. Agree. I think the coaches are trying to put him in that position. Bryce has to trust that they're doing the right thing.
  13. EXACTLY! This is what I've been saying. It's not that Frank doesn't trust Bryce, it's that Bryce doesn't trust Frank's play calling. So, yes, he's overthinking, killing the play and confusing the hell out of the WRs and line. I don't know what the plays were that he killed (and you don't either) but bet a dollar to a doughnut they could've had a better chance of moving the chains than what Bryce killed into. Reich and Brown and McCowan could see what the defense was doing just as well as Bryce could but with years of experience on how to counter it.
  14. The #1 reason Andy had longer throws and fewer screens is because he trusts Frank's pay calling. He wasn't killing plays at the LoS. True, though, it would've been difficult to do with the Seattle noise but he didn't and it made a difference. That is what Bryce is missing. Trust in the play calling.
  15. Maybe what Smitty is trying to say without actually saying it is that Bryce is overthinking at the line. He killed a lot of Frank's 1st called plays and maybe he shouldn't have. Reading a defense is grey not black and white. Being good at processing can work against you sometimes when you over process and think yourself out of the best option.
  16. It's not just urgency you want but showing energy ala Cam. We want to know he's having fun so we can have fun too. He doesn't have the personality of Cam or even Jake "Cajun Mexican jumping bean" Delhomme. Until he starts winning the battle of the minds ala Brady, we want to see reactions. That may be all unrealistic. He is who he is. As our Head Coach says, he has to feel comfortable in his own skin. Don't hold that against him. What I want to see is our defense hold up in the 2nd half especially the 4th quarter. It's like the life drained out of them last game. Isn't it Defense that wins championships? Show us.
