  1. That was a completely different era of football back then. Tom Brady averaged 3500 yards and 25 TDs with a 62% completion in those seasons. Not exactly far off from what Cam just did in 2020 with worse, yes worse weapons than a 2003-2006 era football team which wasn't quite yet the pass happy league it is now. And of course let's not forget the legendary defense the Pats had those years as well.
  2. That is also an excellent point. And I agree Cam was not good at times but the situation he was in was far from ideal. I was hoping Bill would be smart enough to give Cam another opportunity with a full offseason with his teammates/coaches/playbook. Pats also have $50+ million and a slew of draft picks including #15 overall to beef up their skill positions and front 7. There won't be any excuses left if he misses the playoffs or has a lousy year but I don't see how anyone who understands football can use last year to determine if Cam is still a good player or not with the circumstances he was in.
  3. Just wait until they start winning games. They are a bunch of fair weather fans just like most on this board
  4. And again those stats and information you're throwing out still doesn't prove Cam's arm is done. You know there are other factors at play (PERSONNEL) being one of the main catalysts in your theory. The other is Cam's time with the playbook. Julian Edleman was Tom Brady's #1 WR that year. Had a 1,000 yard season. Where was Julian Edleman for 75% of Cam's season last year? On the sideline (except for that one game where you know, Julian had his best game of his entire career with Cam at QB). Tom Brady also left town and jump shipped to go play in a stacked offense. Funny how you left that bit of information out. He didn't want to throw to the likes of N'keal Harry and Damiere Byrd and I don't blame him
  5. OP is a dips*** and shouldn't have been the one that made the thread. He has been a Cam hater since he spawned on this message board
  6. If Cam didn't have arm strength he would have thrown more than 10 INTs in 15 games (He threw 50% of his INTS in weeks 5 and 6 after he returned from Covid then only threw 3 INTS the rest of the year). And he wouldn't have completed 66% of his passes on the year either. Again, after weeks 5 and 6 Cam only threw 3 INTs the rest of the season. If he had a weak arm he would have undoubtedly had way more turnovers. Even in the last game of the year when his arm should have been at it's weakest point of the season (remember Pats had a very early Bye Week) he had an 8.1 Y/A 250 yards passing and 3 passing TDs. It was against the Jets sure but if his arm was SHOT there's no way in hell he puts up those numbers. And there's no way in hell he only throws 3 INTS from week 6 to 16. I again reference Jake Delhomme. 2009. His arm was DONE. He was a turnover machine and couldn't complete a pass down the field. That was NOT Cam Newton in 2020. I'm not sure what you were watching because you said you watched the games I'm starting to believe that you didn't and only looked at the NFL.com highlights they release after every game.
  7. Like I said they have a perfect example they can look up at anytime to see what a shot arm looks like. Jake Delhomme 2009 season. I know Jake had issues with a different part of his arm but if you can't throw football you can't throw a football. There were definitely some rough spots but last year was 100% not an indicator he can't throw the ball. These people need to purchase the all-22 and educate themselves on that front
  8. That happens when you argue with people that have lower IQs than that of a snail. I'll sit here and help you spell, look up definitions, and whatever else will help you so I don't have to read posts that sound like you're drooling all over the keyboard when you type.
  9. Dictionary cuck /kək/ Learn to pronounce noun noun: cuck; plural noun: cucks 1. derogatory•informal a weak or servile man (often not always used as a contemptuous term for a man with moderate or progressive political views). essentially I called you a weak b*tch. Is that enough of an explanation for you or do I need to dumb it down further for you cucks?
  10. The know-it-alls have been wrong about many things especially when it pertains to Cam.
  11. 66% completion rating. I know this "throwing at peoples feet meme" has really gained traction amongst the casuals and it just isn't true nor is it an accurate assessment of Cam's season last year. Did he throw some bad balls? Of course he did. ALL Qbs do. Cam threw 50% of his INTs in the 2 games post-covid. Other than that he had 5 INTs in 13 games. Pretty damn good. He also only threw the ball a measly 368 times which is why his overall numbers were so low. I watched Mahomes skip passes Brady skipped passes they all have their share of bad throws. It happens. Cam had more balls TIPPED at the LoS than he did throwing at WRs feet/in the dirt. His arm is fine. It might not be what it was but it's definitely not broken. Want to see what a QB looks like when his arm finally goes out on him? Jake Delhomme playoffs vs Cardinals and then the ensuing 2009 season. Look at that then look at Cam's 2020 season. It is NOT anywhere CLOSE to being the same.
  12. Why even make the thread if you're going to be a salty cuck? Cam was the best Qb this franchise has ever had. You should be happy for him he's getting an opportunity to play and continue his NFL career. You must live a very sad life off of these forums if this is what you do for your daily enjoyment. Cuck.
  13. That literally makes no sense. The data doesn't even point to that being a direct correlation either. I'm also guessing you didn't watch very many Pats games if any at all and you're getting literally all of your information and basing your assumptions from a statistics page. Nothing of what you said relates to his "arm being dead" which is purely speculation. Cam didn't have much time at all to learn the Pat's system and he was also out of football for an entire year before that. He also wasn't the most accurate QB "wen his shulder wuz gud" AND again look at who he is throwing the ball too. Also got Covid after week 3. Throw all that together and hit blend and yea...you're going to have some rough spots. But it wasn't as bad as it could have been. He still had almost a 66% completion rate while only throwing the ball a ridiculously low 368 times in 15 games (you can blame it on the shoulder all you want ill go out on a limb and say it was more so for the reasons I explained above) but you go ahead and make your assumptions looking at your stat sheets. Cam still put up just as much production as the Panthers 2020 prized FA Qb acquisition and won more games with less talent around him on offense. So yea thats that
  14. I mean he threw the ball less than 20 times in each of those games so....yea his completions are naturally going to be lower in those games thats kind of how that works. The games in which he threw over 20 times he generally had pretty good success. Its all in the numbers right in front of you. Just have to know what you're looking at
  15. Thats what football is a matter of opinion. I know what the narrative is of Cam and I know my opinion is not a popular one but I do not believe Cam deserves all of the criticism he has gotten for last season and I expect even the most casual fan to understand the circumstances he was placed in and understand that most QBs would have failed in that situation much like he did
  16. An alarming rate? You might want to to go buy the All-22 and fact check that. I know thats a common brain dead reply to the season he had and while a few balls did skip he also made some very nice throws.
  17. Depends. FA hasnt even started yet. I think there's a good chance he's back in NE. They have 60 million in cap and some good draft picks. They can easily upgrade the offense and their front 7 and be back in the mix in the AFC.
  18. I mean is this a joke? He was released well into FA when most teams had already committed to their Qb for the year. Most teams don't wait until the end of May or even June to get their starting Qb. Why do people act like this was a "normal" situation Cam was put into this year? I mean look at the offense he played in Damiere Byrd was his #1 Wr. If the Pat's had a bonafide #1 and a healthy Edleman Cam's stats would look A LOT better. Its just funny to me that people use that season to determine if Cam can still be a starting QB in the NFL or not. He had a month to learn his offense and was throwing to a bunch of UDFA ST players And he still won more games than the Carolina Panthers with a MUCH MUCH WEAKER supporting cast. If Cam Newton is done then Matt Rhule doesn't deserve to coach another down of football if he couldn't even win more games than a bum Cam Newton with a month to learn a new system with dogsh*t weapons.
  19. You go little guy!! Show everyone how smart you are!!
  20. Hahaha and where did those decisions get Rhule and Tepper? 5-11? Isn't that worse than 7-9 which is what Cam did with no offseason, learning a new offense, and complete sh*t at the WR/TE position, and he got covid? What a great decision that turned out to be! Also a pretty terrible analogy on your part. So you laugh at Cam and I get to laugh at your dumbassery. Win-win we're all laughing now!
  21. Steve probably has one of the best career highlight reels that I've ever see from an NFL player at any position. And he was able to get the stats to back it up. Being only 5'9 185 pounds, in the systems he played in, the man should definitely be 1st ballot.
  22. Wonder who could have seen this coming? Serves them right for the way they handled the Cam situation. If they don't get the next Qb right Rhules stay in Carolina might not be for very long
  23. Isn't this the same guy that says he doesn't believe in firing assistants?
