  1. Geez, can we stop with this crap. Morgan is the GM, he worked with Canales and the scouts. They picked him.
  2. Honestly, he should be. If he doesn’t have his own Jugs machine at home, then he should be there every day. Amon Ra St. Brown had a segment they showed during a pregame or halftime where he said he still takes over 100 catches a day from the Jugs machine. I don’t care about a squirrel but he needs to have a bug in his ear about becoming a hands catcher. I couldn’t disagree more. Successful teams draft the best player not the guy who physically resembles a former player in the system. Bad teams draft lesser players that fit their system. We drafted like poo while Fitterer was here because he wanted to repeat what he saw in Seattle and he failed miserably. If you want a playoff team, you draft the BPAs and work the plays and system to fit them in. Do you recall Andy Reid/KC saying they drafted Mahomes because he reminded them of Alex Smith? Was CMC drafted because he reminded us of Stewart? McConkey would have been a great weapon for us, period because he gets open a ton and catches the ball like Thielen.
  3. It’s too bad he didn’t draw a comparison with Mahomes and 12 seconds left against the Bills. Might have been meme worthy.
  4. I like it. Throw the first pass out of bounds. No one expects it. For good measure throw the lateral out of bounds too. Did Allar have money on the game? ND is damn lucky they didn’t score a TD with 20 seconds left. Give Allar 10 more seconds and PSU ties the game, lol.
  5. Whoever that was he doubled down on it by saying ND shouldn’t score a TD with 20 seconds left and give Allar enough time. Enough time to what, get picked again?
  6. lol, the announcer is an idiot. Allar is not Mahomes. Giving Allar 20 seconds to score an 80 yard TD? If ND breaks away for a TD, score. I think a 20 yard FG missing is a lot more possible that Allar leading a TD drive in 20 seconds.
  7. ND gave the game away there. Horrific play calling. Reminded me of Georgia Tech passing the ball all the time in OT against Georgia instead of running which they do better. LOL, Allar sucks balls. He should have 3 interceptions now.
  8. I don’t like either of these teams. I’d rather they both lost but those penalties for Penn St were doubly huge because they wiped out both turnovers.
  9. ND might have still got a TD on that one and I thought it was a PI. Penn State got both of their interceptions turned into TDs. The trash calls have definitely benefited PSU more just because they wiped out turnovers and resulted in TDs. All 3 of Penn State’s TDs had key penalties/non-call. Here’s to hoping we don’t see anymore bailouts.
  10. Not hard to get a lead back when both of Allan’s interceptions turned into goal to go TDs.
  11. Penn St getting some nice calls. PI on their first TD drive which has happened twice on both interceptions. That non holding call on the last TD drive would have likely meant a FG instead of a TD. Penn St has 18 points from 3 penalties. I hate when the refs determine the game.
  12. One guy I was interested in is going back to school Jayden Ott from Cal had an injury plagued year this year so he’s going back to school. Might not be the best idea as RB shelf life isn’t long but he likely would have dropped to 6-7 round. With all of our extra picks, might have been a nice flyer based off his freshman and sophomore years.
  13. Good question and I’ll be more up on it when we know who enters the draft. I would think anyone eligible as RB is not a position that you risk going back to school. I will say that while Skattebo was fun to watch in college, I don’t think he’s an NFL RB. He was so worn down facing NFL quality DL that I wouldn’t touch him unless he knocks the combine out of the park. I don’t think he’d make a full NFL season as a lead back. I will watch the combine to see who impresses. Henderson from OSU, Moss from Texas A&M and Neal from Kansas are all RBs I have seen a bit of that could be decent compliments to Chuba if they drop into day 3. Not too sure about Judkins, it just seems like Henderson just produces more when I’ve seen him and I think Judkins is ranked higher. The rest of the RBs will go too early for us to pick given we did invest in Brooks or are RBs I’ve never seen. We do have to give Brooks a shot because we aren’t playoff bound in 2025, but we also need to realize he may never be who we hoped and Chuba needs someone to help.
  14. Still pisses me off that we could have had Frazier and gotten a solid complimentary RB in round 4+. Tracy was available when we took Wade and Irving and a few others were available when we took Sanders. Imagine coming out of this past draft with the picks the Huddle consensus liked and gotten McConkey, Frazier, Wallace, Sanders and one of the several day 3 RBs. It’s sad to think we took two risky picks early and they look like poor picks.
  15. If we use anything more than a day 3 pick, I’d be upset. I want OL/DL with all the extra day 3 picks we have because we need depth desperately and solid NT/DT/C/Gs are found on day 3. Even with some misses, we should get some hits. Day 1 and 2 are for shoring up the D with BPA as we have needs everywhere.
  16. Our defense may break some records this weekend for points scored against and rushing yards. Detroit has given up 333 points so far. We have given up 496 points. We aren’t close to as good as the Lions. The Lions gave up 48 to the Bills. If we played the top 2 offenses (Lions and Bills), they’d have their backups in after putting up a 50 burger by mid 3rd quarter.
  17. Terrible? We are historically terrible. If we give up 39 points, we will have given up the most points in NFL history. If we give up the 176 yards rushing (our average), that will be the 4th most in modern history and the most in 46 years. We are seeing history being made by this defense, so sit back and enjoy it. It might be another 30-40 years until we see it again.
  18. Yeah, the nice thing is that even if Atlanta loses, they still can win the division and won’t rest against us.
  19. It’ll be interesting. Giants play Philly who’s locked into 2 seed. NE plays Buffalo who’s locked into 2 seed. Tennessee plays Houston who’s locked into 4 seed and just lost Tank Dell. Browns play the Ravens who are locked into 3 seed. All 4 opponents have nothing to play for next week and do not have a bye week. Still hurts to beat Arizona but there are opportunities to pass several teams. Throw in the SOS changes for the Jets and Jax playing Indy now that they are out of the playoffs. Jets also play Miami who god willing will be out after the Browns beat them today. Worst case, Miami winning today and next week pushes the Jets SOS up enough. We’ll have a lot of games to watch next week.
  20. It’s part of the reason Marty was well liked. Kuechly, Gross, Peppers and Cam went 9, 8, 2 and 1. It’s a lot easier to hit on early picks. He also went RB/LB a lot later in the 1st which typically are where the best guys at those positions go. We missed out on guys like Herbert and Chase, Sewell or 3 1sts in a trade up because of one extra win in 2019 and 2020. Firing Rhule early cost us a ton of picks to get Young. We are the shining example of why you should tank and the benefits. We clearly decided winning last week was it and it really could hurt. There are a bunch of teams in the top 7-8 that need a QB bad. We could have wrangled an early 2nd or next year’s 1st in a trade up and still gotten the same guy we’ll draft at 7.
  21. All 8 of those day 3 picks should be OL and DL, maybe a RB since Brooks is likely out all year. There were several day 3 RBs in this draft who look like starters or great compliments. The rest of the picks should be all on the line. We need depth on both lines and it would be nice to get a diamond in the rough as well. Seems like historically there are quality starters on OL/DL on day 3, especially interior guys.
  22. SMH, dude it’s OK to be wrong. All of those guys were 10+ sack type guys the year after signing. Hunter is an elite pass rusher. I’ve looked at this before when people in here said we can’t trade Burns because it’s too hard to get a good pass rusher and it wasn’t true. Looking at 9+ sack guys, there were always rookies and new FAs littering the sack leaders list. Look at the top 10 sack guys this year. TJ Watt and Myles Garrett are vets with the team who drafted them. Then you have 5 guys who signed recent FA deals. The last 3 are guys in their 2nd or 3rd year of their rookie deals. Sorry, but that’s reality. There are reasonably priced FA pass rushers available every year that put up top sack numbers. There are also quality pass rushing rookies available every year.
  23. That’s not true. The Giants paid Burns too much but trade wise you have Burns, Young and Sweat all going for 2nd to 4th. Cost wise, guys like Judon, Smith, Floyd, Clowney, Greenard, Ginkel, Fowler, Van Noy and others were available the past few years for reasonable deals. Even at the top Hunter signed a two year deal with Houston for $49M which will probably be less than Higgins gets. Greenard was also a top FA and he signed for $19M a year.
  24. We are pick 7. We leapfrogged the Raiders but the Jets slipped by us with a worse SOS. We have to hope the Browns beat Miami now and then we’d slide to 6 and maybe Miami really rests next week as they’d be eliminated. They are playing the Jets next week.
  25. Yep. fuging sucks. I have no idea how they did that. We had a decent lead on them a few weeks ago. We need some more luck. Cleveland looks like they’re tanking. That Robinson kid sucks and they won’t put in Winston. If the Dolphins lost, they could sit a bunch of guys next week against the Jets. I guess if the Dolphins win, the Jets SOS could jump a bit and even more if the Dolphins beat them next week. That Arizona win was fun but man, we actually had a legit shot at the top pick and maybe fleecing the Giants like we got fleeced by the Bears.
