  1. Not much impact in Carolina because we were on a downswing. When he started for SF they were 27-10 including a SB and NFC Championship appearance. When he didn’t start, they are 7-9. I won’t disagree on the second contract but like Barkley after he got hurt, I wouldn’t be surprised if CMC has a solid year next year. 300-400+ touches a couple years in a row is typically not good for the following season.
  2. That’s not saying much. That’s like congratulating someone for stepping up high enough to go from the street to the curb.
  3. That dude has a history of late/dirty hits and damn, calling it Lawrence’s fault is amazing.
  4. My god, these refs just completely suck. How they missed that facemask is beyond me unless demonic possession is common on runs where the RB’s head looks backwards. Then, just before the third quarter ends, Cleveland gets a 4th and 1 gift where the right guard jumps early and no one sees it. The announcers just showed it after the break. Both players were ridiculously obvious to a guy sitting on his couch. First call likely cost Denver a TD.
  5. If he didn’t act like a pussy, we win the game by 10 or more. Lots of poo slinging in here but OP has some points. I watched it in person and the crowd was moaning the entire game as we kept playing conservative and it bit us in the ass multiple times. We left a lot of points on the board as if we were just trying to make sure we had a home game in the playoffs not like a team that has nothing to lose. Hekker and Eddie weren’t on their game and we continued to defer to them. I’d rather we got stuffed on every short yardage 4th down and our team learned from it as if it were practice than not give them a chance to get them. He shouldn’t ever coach afraid. We aren’t KC who has Mahomes (and the refs) to win in the end. We need to go for it because we aren’t a good team yet and it’s the only way we win games. It was just really frustrating to dominate the game for 3 quarters and go down by one after a single fourth quarter drive.
  6. Honestly, wasn’t real impressed with Brooks yesterday at the game. Bucky looked way better, unfortunately. I thought Brooks was quicker and more elusive and would be a compliment to Chuba but he looked more like a Chuba clone. Maybe he’s rusty but he was not elusive at all. One run at David and he didn’t have any wiggle just tried to run through him and well, didn’t. We needed Legette, so I hope he improves but man, unless Brooks is really rusty, he’s going to be our big regret, especially with Frazier available to fill our C opening with a potential pro bowler.
  7. I’m sure he is, but my point still stands. Proehl was never on Thielen’s level. Thielen’s produced even as a number 2 for years. Proehl wasn’t the top WR in Arizona his best year as a young player and had 877 yards on a team that had over 3600 yards passing. Thielen at 33 had over 1000 yards on a Panthers team that had 3200 yards passing. Thielen had 5 seasons better than Proehl’s career best season. Thielen may look similar but he’s more athletic (2 amazing catches yesterday) and contributing more IMHO than Proehl ever did for us. Not bashing Proehl but the most similar thing between the two is just the skin color. If you look at PFR, Thielen is way more comparable to Muhammad in looking at 17 game averages. Muhammad just played 45 more games.
  8. Can someone explain to me how Cooper’s flip back to Allen for a TD was allowed? Cooper got stopped and was pushed back 3-4 yards. I don’t understand how the play wasn’t ruled down. If he fumbled, play is 100% stopped by forward progress being stopped. It makes no sense that the play wasn’t stopped. His forward progress was stopped for 3-4 yards before the pitch.
  9. Proehl wasn’t on Thielen’s level.
  10. He was amazing tonight. We saw that catch live and it was electric. Shame Chuba screwed up on the next play. It’s almost disrespectful to fumble after Thielen’s catch to keep the drive alive and get into FG range. It really hurt realizing we saw potentially our best play of the year get completely wasted one play later.
  11. I was at the game and just an FYI, he wasn’t drifting the ball left. We were on the left hash mark on both misses and you can see a straight line down the hash marks is just left or right of the goal posts. He hit both straight as an arrow but on the left hash mark that’s a miss just left of the goal post. He needed to push those a little right rather than kick them dead straight. Regardless, he knows how to kick those correctly so he messed up.
  12. Now on? Canales should have been doing it all game. D is bailing out these pussy punts and kicks.
  13. Ridiculous coaching by GT in OT with the 2 pt plays. They had 8 2 pt attempts including the PI and they passed with no run fake on 7 of them. The other was a QB run. They handed off to RBs 0 times out of 8. UGA finally hands it off and wins. If GT tried to run more and hands it to a RB, they score more than 1 in 8 and win. There has been a lot of stupid coaching today and yesterday at the end of games. Do what you do well and don’t screw up clock management and you might actually win. Do what we saw and you lose.
  14. Both guys you mentioned are in the 60s on PFF and Frazier, as a rookie no less, is almost 80. You are overrating our guys. Frazier would be dominating with our guards around him. We made a mistake passing on Humphrey for TMJ a few years ago and a bunch of us were pissed passing on another solid OL and the same draftniks in here really wanted a C and we passed on another stud for a position we didn’t need to reach for this draft. Sometimes the answer is on the roster but there are still much better players. Bryce has been “above backup play” the past few weeks. Would you actually argue that we wouldn’t be improved with a top 5-8 QB like Allen or Burrow or Jackson, etc.?
  15. That wasn’t on KC. That was the Raiders coach. Clock the ball in FG range with 15 seconds left. You do not have time to run another play that isn’t immediately out of bounds. Also, it seems like the Raiders staff didn’t know what they wanted to do hence still huddling up with 8-10 seconds left on the play clock. How is that possible after clocking the ball? Horrific coaching again. The announcers after the game just showed how the Raiders didn’t even have a play called causing the confusion and quick snap with 5 seconds left on play clock. That timeout wasted on deciding not to punt hurt too. Can’t have a coach that has no confidence in what to do. Amazing how these hot seat coaches can make these egregious errors at the end of the game and cost their team a chance to tie or win.
  16. Sorry man, Mays is not Frazier. Would you rather have a rookie Ryan Kalil on your team or a young Bradley Bozeman? Mays is a backup, which is fine but he’s not a potential pro bowler/all pro. If we were smart drafters, we’d be paying attention to positional draft strengths. That’s how a team like the Steelers keep winning even with mediocre QB play since Roethlisberger. If they drafted Frazier, they understood he was a great value. Our draft class has been good for us but it wasn’t fantastic. If we drafted our next Kalil instead of a RB with 2 carries for 7 yards in 11 games, it would have been really good. We extended Hubbard and could have drafted someone rated as high as Brooks in the 3rd, maybe early 4th in the 2025 draft. Cade Mays doesn’t change that at all.
  17. I know people liked the draft but we still don’t get the whole we aren’t a contender so get the BPA/best value. The 2025 RB draft class is stocked. There will be guys in the 3rd and 4th round grades similar to Brooks in the weak 2024 class. Picking a guy who has done nothing in 2024 makes even less sense. Should have been Frazier and then go RB to compliment Chuba in round 4 of 2025. If we want a talent like Frazier this year it will cost a late 1st/early 2nd.
  18. I don’t think we’ll ever see an elite QB like the top QBs out of Bryce. He just doesn’t have the size to do what Allen can do or the crazy skills of Mahomes off platform or Burrow, Lamar and the rest of the top QBs. I said it in another thread. The best hope we can have is an Alex Smith type that can win this crappy division and we can keep building up the team around him cheaply and then hopefully find our Super Bowl contending QB talent. We can’t be Daniel Jonesed in to paying Young a mint for what is a QB that would never go to the playoffs in a division with a top team but could win our poo division at 10-7.
  19. His time in Baltimore isn’t really helping him get a big fat contract. Plenty of WRs out there could come in and be the #1 on the Panthers.
  20. I still worry about his arm strength limiting what we can do. After this game, teams might not come in and expect a cakewalk. All that said, I hope he’s our Alex Smith who we can cheaply build around and be competitive while we look for our Mahomes. I just don’t see him being someone that could legitimately contend versus someone who could be good enough to win the poo fest that is the NFC South.
  21. It would absolutely have helped his cause. Also, if he traded DJ Moore for pick 15 in the 2023 draft (Packers offer), that would have helped. Heck, tanking that season by making any other trade so we don’t finish 6-6 and have to trade up for Bryce would have helped him. First, Tepper would understand that we were in rebuild mode and really targeting a rookie QB. Second, we wouldn’t have thrown away so many picks to fug up with Young. Third, we would have had an arsenal of picks still which helps Fitterer look like he has a real plan. Last, that Burns trade would have looked like a huge win for us, especially when Sweat and Chase Young were had for way less. Fitterer was fired because literally every move he made caused us to be worse. He needed a Burns to LA trade haul to give him something good to highlight. A GM who is rebuilding collects future draft picks and has a plan. We didn’t do that and we clearly had no plan and his execution sucked.
  22. Umm, did you miss the posts after this? It’s been reported that only Souleman was a dissenting voice that said take the Rams picks. Morgan was in agreement to not take the picks.
  23. Still boggles my mind that people couldn’t see how good that deal was. We laid out all the picks and cap savings and still some people said they’d rather have Burns. SMH. Burns or Hunt + Lewis for the same cost/cap, Avila (G Rams took, probably don't sign Lewis), Verse (DE Rams took) and of course their 2025 1st (tankathon has Shavon Revel Jr CB). Still amazes me how much people overrate our players. Franchise changing trade we declined to get a complimentary RB for Chuba.
  24. If Dan and Souleman both disagreed, they might have turned Fitterer.
