Of course they did. When you and your agent go into negotiations with the GM looking for $X and the GM blurts out that he won’t go higher that $2X, you’d really like him.

Thomas Brown is the guy who started the point guard QB story back in February, way before the draft when Tepper famously parroted it. The coaching hires were an all star cast, so while I squarely think Fitterer is awful, the coaches weren’t blameless for the moves either. The whole Frank wanted Stroud stuff falls in my CYA bucket. You can’t tell me he’s a good coach and also say that he didn’t have the balls after 30-40 years in the league that he couldn’t convince two morons to go Stroud. All the talking head friends of Reich’s stepped up to help in his CYA but just like I said last year that Fitterer should be gone if he can’t make his own decision, Reich should be fired if he can’t speak up and get Stroud unless the reality is that he liked Young just as much and was fine with the pick. I have no doubts that, Tepper and Fitterer included, liked Stroud and AR too but they all were OK with Young which is a problem.

Because this list has nothing to do with how good a coordinator you are just how well liked you are. We have the worst offense in the league but our OC is well liked. Well liked doesn’t put any extra point on the scoreboard.

No kidding. How is this good news? The players like the OC on a team who has scored the lowest amount of offensive points in the NFL? We have scored 3 more points than NE, but we have 1 more D/Return TD than they do. IDGAF who our offense likes. Our offense is fuging trash. I care more about DJ Moore loving his QB and CMC enjoying the hell out of SF. Doesn’t appear to be any regret with them. DJ has 9 TDs, CMC has 21 TDs and our entire offense has 20 TDs.

Exactly. His two best value draft picks are BC and Chuba in 3 years. That's truly sad to start but every meaningful starter (who’s played more than half their games) was already there. Shaq, Chinn, Brown, Burns and YGM were all there before Fitterer. He’s filled some OK FAs but he didn’t build poo on D and he’s blown the offense up completely. Any logic to keep Fitterer is grasping at straws. We are the least talented team in the NFL. We lost a poo ton of talent when Rhule came on board and at least drafted some D talent in 2020, but since then we’ve lost even more talent and done nothing to improve. If Fitterer stays, I’ll come back to watch when they have a winning record. I’d assume that will be around 2030-2032 but at least Fitterer and two more coaches will be gone. Hopefully, we’ll get back to winning before CMC’s HOF acceptance speech.

No poo. People predicting 1000+ yards for TMJ this offseason. We literally drafted the same guy in the same round. With DJ Johnson’s wasted trade up, we could have traded up Mingo’s pick to where Tennessee went for Levis and picked up La Porta. Gee, what a novel idea to draft a “real” TE, which we need badly during a draft that was loaded with TEs. Nah, why get a 1st round TE value in the 2nd round of a strong TE class when we can reach for a mediocre WR in a weaker WR class. Sure seems like the WRs in 2024 are deep so we’ll probably go TE next draft (hopefully Fitt is gone). SMH, Fitterer learned nothing from Marty who never drafted to the strength of a draft like 2018-2019 where strong IOL were ignored even after losing our entire IOL from 2014-2017.

Belichick has been a bad drafter but I’d say he’s had better 2021-2023 drafts than Fitterer. Gonzalez and Horn are injured CBs that looked good although Gonzalez hasn’t shown 3 years of injuries yet and Strange is better than BC and Stevenson is better than Hubbard so his badness seems better than Fitterer and he’s still got his 2024 1st and 2025 2nd. I’m 99.9% certain that you cannot find a worse GM from 2021-2023 that hasn’t already fuged up his 2024 draft.

CMC was Gettleman, but my point was that if Marty was a great talent scout, his post round 1 record would be way better. Just another case where you know Tepper gets snowed by lesser hires/not fires. Anyone with a brain would have seen that Marty wasn’t good at talent evaluation. It’s much easier, unless your last name rhymes with Shitterer, to make top 10 picks.

Tepper thought Marty was an amazing college scout as well so he might actually think Fitterer is OK. I’ve already told my son and said it in here that I’m not watching next year if Fitterer isn’t fired. There’s no disputing that he’s the worst GM in the NFL. His drafting and trading record is flat out horrific.

I always thought we put CMC on a shelf when we knew we were out of it. I think 2020 he had a legit injury but there was no chance we’d risk injury for a few weeks when we were basically out. In 2021, he just missed a few weeks before he came back and we shelved him again after Miami beat the snot out of us. If we were 7-5 instead of 5-7, he likely toughs out the 2021 season. Same with 2020 end of season. Since he became the starter in SF, they are 24-5 so not surprisingly, he’s played in games dinged up. Dinged up gets you IR for a RB on a 5-11/5-12 team.

You missed Terrace Marshall. He was our 2021 2nd. BC was a 3rd rounder. TMJ was an F as well so won’t change the overall draft grade. I also don’t see Hubbard as our RB1 next year. He’s a bright spot because the rest of the offense has been garbage but don’t make the mistake that he’s not easily replaced. He’s still likely the best pick in 3 Fitterer drafts which is amazing since it was Rhule’s wife who liked him. I also think BC is easily replaced as well. The scary part is that two JAG starters is the best we’ve gotten in 3 drafts. That’s why this team is 2-14 in a bad division. We aren’t even grading him on all the draft picks he’s pissed away in 3 drafts to net us nothing. Fitterer has really put us in a horrible spot. We'll need multiple really solid drafts just to get back to a .500 team and that’ll be hard without 2024 1st overall and 2025 2nd. He really may have turned us into the Browns and Lions of the past with a decade of losing seasons.

Exactly. The bad value trades and bad drafting (especially not going at draft strengths, OL in 2021 or TE in 2023) look the same. Also, as was posted in here a ton, Rhule was on the hot seat in 2022 and Fitterer supposedly had the keys to the offseason. The trade up for Corral in 2022 was virtually identical to DJ Johnson in 2023. It is still amazing that people cover for him still after likely presiding over the 3 worst off-seasons in Panther history all in succession.

Damn. So right because maybe we avoid hiring Fitterer and possibly Rhule.

I disagree. The trade was bad value for us knowing our 2024 pick would be very high and thinking Chark could replace Moore. We were clearly a rebuilding team after 2022 and it was clear we wanted a QB. We should have traded Burns and Moore when we traded CMC. Get full value and lots of picks (3 firsts, 2 2nds, etc.) and “tank” the rest of 2022 to get a top 3 pick not pick 9. We half assed it yet again. Even though I’m sure Fitterer would have fuged it up somehow, we still did the QB trade up completely wrong. Wouldn’t it have been great to give the Rams 1sts instead of ours and still have Moore? In the 2023 draft, the Rams picks would have been more valuable because we were considered a better team before they had a great draft and we had a shitty one.

I’m of the opinion that Tepper has sucked at hiring but IMHO, the single most important problem is Fitterer. I think Tepper “could” be fine if a GM was drafting, signing FAs and trading well. Look at Rhule’s first year. You can laugh, but it was a much better team. I don’t want Rhule back, but we were expected to be awful in 2020. We lost Cam, Luke, Olsen, TD, Bradberry and we had a QB whose career high in TDs was 1 per game. We played both #1 seeds that year (GB and KC) and lost by a total of 10 points including Teddy fumbling at the goal line. Rhule wasn’t a good coach but damn, we were at least competitive. What do you think we’d lose to SF and Baltimore by this weekend? Our drafting, FA signings and trade decisions have been consistently similar and horrible in Fitterer’s 3 offseasons whether Rhule was blamed or he got more power when Rhule was on the hot seat or when Reich was hired and we blame every decision on Tepper. One tidbit to remember is Fitterer is on record after the draft saying that Young was his top guy for 2 years. Tepper sucks but the talent black hole for this team is Fitterer regardless of who gets blamed. It feels icky for me to even remotely back Tepper but I do think he and his wife getting blamed for all these personnel moves is funny. We even heard of Fitterer and other coaches going to Tepper behind Reich’s back. IMHO, I think Tepper is a dumb rich kid who has gotten snowed quite a bit by yes men who blame others for their clear failures. I think Tepper is fixable in that a good GM/coach would have a lot more free rein than most people think if they do well. Reich was not good at all as many parts (like the OL) fell apart under his watch just like it did at Indy, but my god is the talent level atrocious for any coach. That said, I’m not optimistic at all that we find a good coach/GM pairing and I see us being a bottom dweller for a while. I do know that I won’t watch this team next year if Fitterer is not gone. It would take a freaking miracle to get a good team under him like a coach who makes all the offseason moves and makes amazing calls. I don’t believe in unicorns.

Reich was just as much a problem. His coaching was terrible. Even with Sunday, the team almost winning two in a row is better than anything Frank did. Also, what kind of balls does he have to not convince Tepper that Stroud is the guy? If you know Young cannot win, you convince the rest of the staff. Every article and interview from February to right after the draft had the staff on Young. It wasn’t until the preseason poo went straight into regular season that the CYA started.

After the Jets fleeced us for Darnold and Jacksonville fleeced us for Henderson, what did you expect? In on every trade was because every GM picks up the phone when Scott’s calling. Heck, even SF used their 3-4 start last year to fleece us on CMC. We helped SF absorb the Lance fiasco by handing them an MVP candidate for a mid 2nd round value. SF has been to the NFC Championship and now has the #1 seed locked up in part to us. McVay was willing to come back to the Rams in part because Scott declined that huge haul for Burns and the Rams turned their 2023 draft into getting back to the playoffs. Everything Scott does has a positive impact. Unfortunately, it’s always benefiting other teams. Even in the draft, Scott ignoring our horrible OL in 2021 meant that we drafted TMJ and a long snapper. By doing this, Scott allowed KC to get Humphrey and Smith to rebuild 40% of their OL that lost them the prior SB (started 5 backups) and helped win a SB in their second season. The Chargers and Vikings also got their LTs and we got a CB who doesn’t play and a LT who we need to try at G because he’s so bad in pass protection. It’s truly amazing how bad he’s really been and how much better the huddle group think has been. I’m talking the people who pay attention to the draft and FA/trades, not the team can do no wrong folks.

Fitterer gutted this team in 3 years. Truly and utterly gutted the talent. I miss the Rhule Panthers compared to the poo team we are now. As pointed out, again, above, the team Rhule started with was considered a rebuilding team after Cam, TD, Olsen, Luke, Bradberry and others were gone. I recall ESPN having us #32 in terms of coaching and starting lineup changes and we weren’t close to #31. Fitterer said he thought this team was better at all but two spots than the 2022 team and he had traded away basically 2 full drafts for Young, Darnold, Mayfield, Henderson, Corral and Johnson. We did exactly the opposite of every rebuilding team and now we are the worst team in the league and don’t have the #1 overall pick and don’t have pick 33 to 36 in 2025. Sucks being a fan right now because there is almost nothing positive going on and I don’t see how 2024 is any better than this year unless we miraculously have a draft like the Rams just did with no first with a new GM and his forbid a good coaching staff.

Scott was right, we won’t have a top 10 pick this year. fuging dolt. The worst part is that the race wasn’t even close. We got the top pick by 2 games. We’ve gotten super unlucky the past 4-5 years having high picks but being one loss away from jumping up a couple/few/several picks like missing out of SF’s Trey Lance bounty by beating Dwayne Haskins the game before his release. Now, miracle of miracles we actually get the top pick easily when we are a poo team and we’ve traded it away. SMH. All I know is that I will not watch a game next year if Fitterer isn’t gone.

Agreed and he also should have been gone with Rhule. Heck, I wanted him gone before 2022’s draft because I hated his 2021 draft skipping over solid OL for guys who never started for us or won’t make it to then end of their rookie deal. Add in the trades for Darnold and Henderson and I thought he was a shitty GM and we got proof in 2022/2023 that he was a super shitty GM.

And 2nd rounder and 3rd rounder and heck pretty much all his picks. Imagine that there were people who were stroking Fitterer before the season started. Still pissed this idiot wasn’t dumped with Rhule. Maybe we would have gotten a GM who knew last season was the time to trade everyone and shoot for a QB without trading away our future.

Fitterer to a T. It sure seems like he’s just copying what he thinks worked elsewhere (short QB, legion of boom) and then take a 6th round G from Tennessee after you selected Deonte and a long snapper over the much better 6th round G from Tennessee. In fantasy, he’s basically the guy at the end of every run. He doesn’t find great value and he lets others dictate his decisions like trading up for Corrall and DJ Johnson.

Amazing how much pro bowl and HOF talent we have on this 2-13 team.
