I dont think thats right.. There is zero reason to think that Sam's prep is a problem. Sam also trains with Jordan Palmer who is pretty respected in the NFL circles regarding QB training. I think your reading too much into it bud.

If we cannot get Stroud or CJ then I would be ok with a trade down and running with Corall... and Jimmy our way to a QB next year. That said.. I dont think anyone on that building would want that. We are getting a QB this year one way or another.

Yeah I agree. I dont think Fitt is waiting till draft night to make a move. He needs to secure that plan WELL before the draft.

I dont think its a mess. I think the team just needs to pick a plan and go after it - which they will. You either A) got after a FA QB. B) trade all the way to #1 or #3 and get your guy C) Let the draft fall (I still suspect that AR15 falls) They will have a plan. Im sure that when they hired Reich they already knew what they wanted to do.

Yeah thats a tough decision... If I knew Im not getting CJ then Im not making that trade and letting AR15 hopefully fall to me.

I would rather have CJ for 3 1st on a rookie contract than LJ for 2 1st and a league leading contract.

And he was a former 1st round pick.. those guys stay a long time in this league based on draft status alone. That said.. If he can catch on... man would we have an elite secondary.

He started to look really good for the few games that he played with Turner. Its a shame he got hurt again. Cam really could flick his write and throw it for 80 yards, that was always amazing but he was like a 55-60% passer that really only averaged 200 yards a game. Regardless of all of that he is still the greatest player that panthers have ever had.

I loved Cam but I think people forget things over time. Cam was the undisputed best running QB in the league while he played. He was shifty and quick and BIG. But passing was another story. He was always in the bottom 1/3 of the league when it came to passing. He had trouble not throwing with touch. Cam was a great QB, the best QB this team has ever seen but every year we all hoped that he would get better at throwing the ball and he really didnt.

Yup that would be best case. I could really see AR falling. I saw a mock draft the other day that didnt have AR in the 1st round.. That said we have to have a vet option in place heading into the draft. cause if we dont and miss out on a QB in the draft then its going to be a LONG season

Thats fair. But its hard to see a situation where we dont give us multiple 1st and 2nd's which also hampers us.

Good breakdown. AR seems like such a gamble given he needs time. I really dont like the idea of sitting young QB's. So much value of drafting a rookie QB is their cap vs a starting player and if you intend to sit them you lose that value. Honestly Carr at this point seems like the best way to go. If we had next years QB class THIS year then I would feel better about trading up but its also rare that a QB of Carrs ability come available.

Man Im so torn at what I want for a QB.. Carr lets us compete right now while saving draft picks. At #9 we can get an impact player. Drafting a QB probably mean trading away future picks for an unknown and there is no 100% safe QB in this draft..

I can understand how he is thinking that if a POS like Watson can get the biggest and best contract in the NFL why can't I... I also get why you would want to do your own deal to save the fees but at the same time not everyone can handle negotiations

If we sign Carr I dont want us using a top pick in this draft on a QB. If we sign Carr then Carr is THE GUY. Get weapons make the team better. Signing Carr means no 1st round rookie QB for then next 2 or 3 years... even more if we are lucky.

It feel like we either trade the farm this year for a QB or we trade the farm next year for a QB. However I would assume that if we sign ANY bridge QB this year to draft a guy NEXT year we will have a worst draft position next year meaning it will cost more. To hell with it. Lets get #1 or #3 over all.

This is why im very curious about what happens in Baltimore with Lamar. This is one of the smartest FO's in the NFL. So Im curious to see what they do. I think there is a blue print to draft mobile QB's run them into the dirt and rinse and repeat without having to pick up a 2nd contract. If they can get 2 1st rounders for Lamar then draft a player like Richardson....
