  1. When we drafted Luke, I raged like an imbecile. "WHY!? WE HAVE JON BEASON!! STUPID PICK!" Now I can't imagine this team without him. He and Cam are the heart and soul of this team for years to come. @yshah2187
  2. This looks likely to me. I think we could win one of those primetime home games, but on the flip side, I think we lose to Dallas on Thanksgiving, so I'm still in the same range. 9-10 wins should be attainable if the WRs can step up.
  3. I've adjusted my expectations for the season. If we can win 9 games and snag a WC spot, I'll be content.
  4. Why do we already have the MRI results for Louis Delmas, who got hurt after KB, but not KB yet? The longer we wait, the worse the news IMO.
  5. Great article by Barnwell from last year on why preseason is worthless, with statistical backup! http://grantland.com/features/value-nfl-preseason/
  6. Benji/Funch/Ginn/Brown are the locks. I think the last two spots are currently owned by Cotch and Bersin. At the end of the day, I think those are who end up being the 6 on the 53 man roster.
  7. Ugh hate injuries. Hope it's just sore for Funch and he's back tomorrow (or whenever the next practice is).
  8. Luke will be paid a comparable contract to Matthews, Willis, Bowman, et al. Basically, something along the lines of a 5-year, $55-65m extension with $20-25m guaranteed. That's the going rate for a top 5 ILB.
  9. So if it's just a 5 year extension averaging $21m per and this year is untouched, the deal will be 6 years, ~$120m ($119.67m to be exact). If it averages $21m per over the length of the entire deal, then we're looking at 6 years, $126m, with the new money average being $22.3m (6x$21m = $126m - $14.67m = $111.3m/5 = $22.3m).
  10. Yeah, hate when people just parrot headlines. He got $21.5m fully guaranteed no matter what. Cam's fully guaranteed numbers will likely double that at the very least.
  11. Voth saying it's from Hurney as well: Black & Blue Review ‏@BlackBlueReview 3m3 minutes agoMarty Hurney of @ESPN730 is reporting #Panthers and Cam Newton are CLOSE to getting a long-term deal done. Nice scoopage.
  12. The thread title is wrong, Swearinger has not been released. He has told he won't be back, but they're still trying to trade him: PDS ‏@PatDStat · 2h2 hours ago Keep seeing Swearinger is being released, that is not accurate. PDS ‏@PatDStat · 2h2 hours ago There has been a deal in place for Swearinger since last week. Still hearing a player is coming in return. #Texans
