  1. CMC = 23 SF 2nd, 23 SF 3rd, 23 SF 4th, 24 SF 5th Trade up to Chicago for 1: DJ Moore, #9, 23 SF 2nd (#61), 24 CAR 1st, 25 CAR 2nd DJ Johnson: Package 23 SF 3rd and 23 SF 4th So essentially, CMC + DJ Moore + 24 CAR 1st + 25 CAR 2nd = Bryce Young, DJ Johnson and 24 SF 5th
  2. I think the thing that chaps most Panthers fans' asses is not just the draft capital but the proven talent we sent out as well. Chicago traded a 1st, 5th, 1st, and 4th for Fields. The sequence of events that got us to Bryce (+ DJ Johnson, a 25yo rookie that got 0 snaps week 1 and a healthy scratch week 2) was basically trading CMC, Moore, 2 firsts, and a 2nd. That's actually a helluva lot more capital than what Chicago invested in Fields. Nevermind that we could've just taken Fields at 8 overall (yes that means no Jaycee but he's played in a total of 17 of a possible 36 games so far in his career so are we really missing much?) that year or taken Howell without trading any picks like we did to get Corral.
  3. Whoops, def an oversight. Still not great that we haven't been able to draft any offensive skill players worth a damn in the 21st century.
  4. Yep...Terrace seems to be a Jarrett level bust. Even Funchess and Colbert had decent seasons. Funchess year 3 put up 63/840/8 and Colbert as a rookie did 47/754/5. I doubt we ever see a line like that from Marshall as a Panther unfortunately.
  5. 4-13 / 5-12. Only potential wins I'm seeing are vs Texans, vs Colts, at Bears, vs Bucs, and vs Falcons . We'll probably drop one of those, but maybe we surprise and win a game like at Bucs, at Saints, or vs Packers. Reich-led teams historically never start well so I don't feel confident in the next 4 (at Seahawks, vs Vikings, at Lions, at Dolphins). Frankly feels like we're staring 0-6 in the face. Maybe 1-5 if we upset the Vikings at home. 2018: 1-5 2019: 4-2 (actually started 5-2 before ending 7-9) 2020: 4-2 (best season, finished 11-5) 2021: 1-4, finished 9-8 2022: 3-5-1, fired 2023: 0-2 and staring 1-5/0-6 in the face
  6. Our pass D and pass rush looks good, surprisingly. Burned a few times over the top, but given the CB injuries and our offense going 3 and out like 6 out of 8 drives or whatever, bound to happen. The run D looks as suspect as ever. We don't have a true NT and the OLBs are light/not good run defenders, so maybe should've expected that. But through 2 weeks, the run D ranks 29th in EPA/play.
  7. Agreed. Sunk cost fallacy. Yesterday's price is not today's price. Fitt fumbled the ball with that (non)move, but if you're not prepared to pay Burns $28-30m per then you gotta move him.
  8. Send Marshall with Burns, former 2nd round pick, maybe he can rejuvenate his career with Chase and Burrow.
  9. The Panthers have never been able to draft offense well in the 2nd round...look at the history: 2023: Jonathan Mingo - too early to tell 2021: Terrace Marshall - not looking good 2019: Greg Little - bust 2017: Taylor Moton - best 2nd round pick of the 21st century by far, stalwart RT 2017: Curtis Samuel - gadget player, injury prone 2015: Devin Funchess - bust 2012: Amini Silatolu - lmao 2010: Jimmy Clausen - lmao 2007: Dwayne Jarrett - bust 2005: Eric Shelton - bust 2004: Keary Colbert - bust 2003: Bruce Nelson - played only 15 games in his career, bust 2002: DeShaun Foster - good player 1996: Muhsin Muhammad - all time Panthers great Outside of Moton, by far the best offensive players selected in the 2nd round happened 21 and 27 years ago. Think about that, it's fuging wild.
  10. I'm not sure...just trying to think of teams that might be desperate enough to package a 1st for Burns. Looks like they've got $85m-plus cap space next season but a poo ton of FAs. I don't think you're getting Higgins, a 1, and a 2/3 for Burns though given he also needs/wants a massive deal. We'd probably have to send a pick back at that point.
  11. I mean it's been over a half decade since the team last made the playoffs. The Panthers are 29-55 (.345) since Tepper took over. Started 0-2 4 of the last 5 seasons and in the one season that had a good start, the team proceeded to go 2-12 over the final 14 games. Why should this place be pleasant?
  12. I don't think it'll happen, but if we can get Higgins and the Bengals 24 first for Burns, I'd do that deal in a heartbeat.

  16. Game management early into this staff’s tenure is looking pretty suspect. Hope we don’t need that TO…
  17. Slim pickings at WR - Jarvis Landry, Kenny Golladay, Julio Jones, Sammy Watkins, TY Hilton. Maybe Hilton given he's familiar with Reich and may have some speed left?
  18. For an “all star” coaching staff, this is some sloppy fuging play
  19. Doubtful to return with a hamstring injury is the latest I’ve seen per the team
  20. I'm assuming Panthers are using Chubb, Miller, Crosby guarantees as the baseline and Burns' camp is pointing to Mack, J. Bosa, Watt range. Compromise and do something in the $80m range IMO.
  21. I don't think Burns is going to get $100m+ guaranteed at signing but I'm pretty sure he's going to get meaningfully more than Miller, Chubb, and Crosby at signing. Probably in the $65-75m+ range IMO.
