Official Sound off like you got a pair Panthers Draft predictions thread
Fright replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
We draft Young.... only to regret it by week 6 as Stroud starts to show signs of being elite while Young struggles. -
I've been on this forum for a while and tend to side with just about everything you have input on, so I was just curious, being someone else close to stepping away from the Rhule show myself.... hopefully whoever we get balls out.
-
I recall seeing that you preferred Stroud a while back... will you be as excited if we draft Young and he stinks?
-
If you knew anything about Stroud, you wouldn't be ego bound to Young. I'm telling YOU his similarities to a trash QB we had starting previously and you can't refute it. Miss me with the burden of proof BS when YOU'RE the one disputing the differences of Mayfield and Young.... Disprove me, "idiot."

Please enlighten me.

I'm seeing two rather short, by nfl standard, QBs who used a lot of roll outs, shifting formations and scrambling behind solid college o-lines. We see how that's working for Baker in the league, who was also quite the stud in college. It's going to repeat.

Can't wait for baker mayfield v2 to start for us. yay.

If we draft this dude and he blows ass I'm going ramp up my post count to Mr Scot's level with poo talking to everyone who wanted him. I'll eat crow if he balls out, but I really just don't want a midget by NFL standards leading our team.
-
Doesn't matter how fast he processes targets when he can thread needles to his primary receiver at will... watch this dude's highlights... there's no such thing as a "covered" receiver, he just needs an inch of separation and he can get you the ball wherever on the field. Can't test that.
-
It's quiet in here b/c those who support Stroud don't need to defend him as the one's who support Young have/need to. He pushes the ball further down field faster and more accurately than Young, which is the way of the NFL now. That's all that he needs to win the debate. Also, did you see how pumped our entire staff was being around him? That alone speaks volume.
-
As long as our pick performs better, it won't be debated. If whoever we pick sucks in comparison, it will be debated until our pick retires or we draft/sign someone else.
-
I'll just be real... I don't want a QB who looks like a 13 year old in our back field. -shrug-

A Different Perspective on the Young vs Stroud Decision
Fright replied to Matthias's topic in Carolina Panthers
This is why Stroud is the pick and always was the pick. This is why we traded for the #1 pick and not the #2, bc Young isn't an option for us. -
Gives me "Donald" LaFell vibes and I could see similar production. Constant 500-600 yard seasons, peaking at an almost 1k season.

A good attitude and marketability gets you a long way (if the skill is there) in this league. Burns will most likely get paid whatever he's asking for.

What I think is happening with the team's "QB debate" (theory)

This is weird. -
Panthers to Send 11 Representatives to Ohio St Pro Day
Fright replied to MHS831's topic in Carolina Panthers
His throws were crisp... a few over throws, but pro receivers are making those catches. Maybe it's just me, but on his play action throws he looked deceptively quick. Dude's going to be a baller... I hope we take him. -
Frank Reich has NO EXCUSES… playoffs or bust in 3 seasons
Fright replied to TheBigKat's topic in Carolina Panthers
No reason we can't at least win the NFC south for the next 2 years, minimum. -
Teams started to target Chinn in coverage mid-late season. I wouldn't be surprised if he's traded, but I hope we just adjust his positioning so he's not forced to cover shifty players as often.

Tony Pauline: CJ Stroud or Anthony Richardson
Fright replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Because they're the Texans and they do Texan things.
