It was straight trash. Teams are gonna start kicking the laces off the ball at us if we can't threaten any type of return. Don't exactly have to worry about out-kicking your coverage.
-
Griping about 40? Yikes. Might wanna dial the expectations back a tad. We aren't the Chiefs.

Teddy looked good here early on too. He had five good games, then a bad 6th game, bounced back in week 7, then the wheels fell off week 8. But, the whole time he looked "good" he was also failing to deliver in the clutch. Let's see him in a competitive game once teams have film on him in that system. The truth will reveal itself... again.

We had a goalline fumble and two misfired passes to open receivers in the end zone. That's not Joe Brady's fault. No one would be complaining if we put up 40 yesterday and that's what we should've had.

Shaq Thompson deserves some love

He's always looked like a standard starting LB. That wasn't "standard starter" play yesterday. -

Listen, I don't wanna get ahead of myself after one game, but... he looked like Luke Kuechly out there yesterday. That was DPOY caliber play. Straight up. -
Byron Bell the superstar?
-
Yeah, they're smoking that real good poo. Becton looked like the worst OL on the field yesterday, period.
-
Other than Paradis, seems fairly spot on. It is what we thought it was. One stud and four problem spots.

Arnold can't block at all and Thomas is a subpar blocker. Honestly, I thought Thomas looked better as a receiver than Arnold yesterday. Arnold basically looked like a slower Funchess. Big dude that plays small. He played more like a big, slow WR than a TE. Now I see why Thomas was kept on. But yeah, hoping to see more of Tremble soon.
-
Hopefully for them it was just first game jitters.

I definitely agree that the over-reliance on CMC is a concern. Honestly, it's by far my #1 concern from yesterday's game. I'll give Darnold some time to settle into a new offense with new teammates before I hammer him too hard for those types of misses. Yeah, they were misses and it would've come back to bite us against a better team but fortunately we had a warm up game in week one against possibly the worst team in the league.

Not sure there was a type of pass he didn't drop yesterday.

If you put your arms up all you're doing is basically signaling to the ref that yep, I was holding.
-
I don't think "they" did. I think Elijah Moore did. That guy had bricks for hands yesterday.
-
Elijah Moore had worse hands than Ginn yesterday.
-
Zach Wilson was more slippery than a KY wrestling match yesterday. Give the guy some credit. We were all over him all day but he's a tough cat to corral.
-
I saw a fumble on what would've likely been a walk in TD and two misfires to open receivers in the end zone. We left 3 TDs on the field. No one would be complaining about scoring 40 and that's what we should've done.
-
It really is a problem. I hope yesterday's usage was about easing Darnold in and getting him comfortable. I get it, when you have a versatile and dangerous weapon like that you want to go to it as much as possible, but after talking about the need to monitor his usage we need to see that actually come to fruition. CMC accounted for 30 touches. All other RBs combined for 2. We had 62 offensive snaps. CMC was the target on damn near half of them. That's not sustainable and I thought him being banged up last year would've taught us that.

It was truly one of the more blatant holds you'll see in a football game. No clue how anyone could have an issue with that call.
-
Yep. I distinctly remember that play too.
-
Yeah, that could end up addition by subtraction. Dude showed up way overweight and still looked way overweight and predictably slow. Now he might have a significant injury. Not looking good for his long-term NFL prospects.
-
I barely noticed him all game. That generally means a CB is doing his job pretty well.
-
Teddy looked good early on for us too. It won't last.

The Bears are gonna have to go to Fields sooner rather than later. Dalton threw the ball 38 times tonight and completed 70% of them. Big night, right? Wait... only 206 yards. 0 TDs. Dude averaged 5.4ypa. I honestly can't recall a ball traveling more than 19 yards past the LOS. Teddy Bridgewater would be embarrassed by that.
