  1. I can't remember the details but as I recall it we were getting pretty well whooped at halftime and we came out of the locker room with Jake and never looked back.
  2. If a non-Panther fan that didn't know the Panthers roster went to TC back in the day, they would've picked out Chris Weinke as our starter ten times out of ten and likely thought Jake was just some guy hoping for an injury or something to squeak onto the roster. He really did not look like an NFL QB in practice.
  3. You might wanna go watch Jake go toe to toe with Tom Brady in that '03 Super Bowl again before talking trash about him. I disagree with his take here, but still...
  4. If a team has given up on a 1st round pick after a year where he spent a good chunk of the season off the active roster for non-injury reasons and the rest of the NFL evidently also determined him to be next to worthless, I'm not too disappointed on "missing out" on him.
  5. Then we're no longer in QB purgatory. We're either forced to find someone better or forced to tank for Howell. Either is better than another year of Teddy.
  6. Yeah, I just don't think he's very good. He's a rotational depth piece. I mean, he had six career sacks in a primarily rotational depth role when Marty Hurney decided it was a good idea to give him a 2 year $12.5M contract.
  7. Wow. One year after being a 1st round pick the dude is practically worthless. His agent best be telling him this was a real shot across the bow. His NFL career is already on the ropes.
  8. If he's as good as he's going to get physically after that injury he's not going to be good enough.
  9. This is certainly possible. If I'm the Jets and I'm sold on Wilson, I'm probably out of the Watson race. I have no idea what Miami is going to do. I get the feeling that there's a deep divide in that organization with one contingent wanting to stick with Tua and one contingent wanting to cut bait and move on. Admittedly, I have nothing but a hunch to base that on.
  10. I still haven't gotten around to watching any of his full games yet. All my eggs are basically still in the Deshaun Watson or Zach Wilson baskets. At some point before the draft I'll turn my attention more toward Fields and Lance as they both seem like far more realistic options.
  11. Yeah, three mid-rounders for Teddy? My god, what a coup that would be
  12. Classic Hurney "pay a JAG like he's decent and maybe he'll actually be decent" signing.
  13. Sure, he could be. So could anyone else who isn't going to be one of the top 3-4 guys drafted at his position. No one here is trashing Jones that I'm seeing. Most of us just want no part of him where we're drafting in the 1st round. Mac Jones at #8 is crazy talk.
  14. Neither did the massive list of other really good physically limited college QBs who busted. There are always going to be some exceptions. Kinda like how Norman became an elite NFL CB despite running a 4.66. But that's also why he was a 5th round pick. I'm not completely opposed to Mac Jones. I'm just completely opposed to Mac Jones in the top 25 or so.
  15. I hope we stay away from Ertz. He looks shot IMO.
  16. One we get past Watson and high 1st round picks, the odds of finding the long-term answer pretty much become long shots. If Watson doesn't work out and a high 1st round QB doesn't work out, we might be forced to look at the "well, he's better than Teddy" options. I think Minshew fits there. Would I be excited about it? Honestly, nah. But if better options don't work out I'd rather give Minshew a try vs. rolling with Teddy. That's all I'm saying. It's not that hard for me to envision a scenario where Minshew might be our best bad option. I hope we don't get there, but I acknowledge that it's a possibility.
  17. I think playing in the league for as long as he has certainly provides a unique perspective. And a CB would definitely spend a lot of time watching film on QBs so it's not like his opinion on the matter isn't rooted in a lot of relevant experience. The main thing here to realize though is that Sherman is probably doing a bit of projecting here. The reason he slipped to the 5th round was due to his perceived lack of athleticism. Like our own Josh Norman, Sherman is honestly a significantly subpar athlete among NFL CBs. He just has other traits that allows him to more than make up for his athletic shortcomings.
  18. It's not just mobility though. It's also arm strength. If he had a cannon of an arm he'd still be considered a top prospect even with serious mobility concerns.
  19. If we draft him, I have to think that we believe that his issues are coachable. The talent is definitely there.
  20. What's your next troll account going to focus on after Teddy is gone?
  21. Yeah, if I know there's a steaming pile of hot dog poo behind door A, I'm gonna be willing to roll the dice on door B.
  22. I could see it depending on his trade value. There are more teams than ever seemingly desperate at QB. Not all of them are gonna come out of the draft or FA with their guy. The Jags might all of a sudden find themselves with a decently hot commodity.
