  1. Yeah, the arm length isn't ideal but it feels like all these 1st round OT busts of the last 20 years or so are all these 6'5" 35"+ arm guys that everyone is willing to look past all their glaring issues.
  2. Not necessarily on the hot seat but probably down to his last swing at the QB position.
  3. How many teams that think they have the answer at QB tank? I'm just not optimistic about a guy when there's nothing about his play we can point to for hope and just have to hang onto the fact that he's young and has some physical talent.
  4. Probably just good enough to not get you a better option. Back in purgatory. How desperate will they get next year? Future 1sts for Jared Goff? I'm only partially joking.
  5. Young is a good example. It's not promising that we have to go back 35 years for a comp. That's the type of long shot we're taking though.
  6. Favre was better in his second season than Darnold has ever been.
  7. Yikes. We're really going all in on Sam Darnold? FUG...
  8. Give me a comp for a guy who has looked a bad through three years as Darnold who ended up working out. I'm not saying it's never happened, but I sure can't think of one off the top of my head.
  9. Yep. Seems like we panicked before there was a need to panic. You're still holding the #8 overall pick and I don't think Darnold was getting moved anywhere else anytime soon. Not for what we gave up anyway.
  10. I think this became painfully obvious this afternoon.
  11. If we aren't drafting a QB, honestly trading down and picking up future assets is probably my preference. I don't want to trade WAY down, but sliding back to say a few spots and getting that '22 2nd rounder back? Yeah, I'd take that.
  12. It was already a bidding war. We were just happy to play the patsy and bid against ourselves.
  13. What if one of your top QBs is actually there? You still gotta take him and now you gotta deal with Darnold.
  14. No money, no move in. It'd be a question for an attorney, but if you let them move in you might be facing having to legally evict them if this falls through.
  15. I might be misremembering, but I think @Ja Rhule is Indian or maybe his wife is? There's something there.
  16. Discussions continued. Evidently they've been ongoing for weeks.
  17. Go for it. All I'm gonna say is that it's likely to end up about the same way - disappointing. That's how dumpster diving usually ends up.
  18. Did he? His two best seasons in Miami he was 5th and 6th in most sacks. Darnold was 19th, 19th, and then 9th this year.
  19. The big issue I have here is the timing. If we made this deal after striking out at #8 I'd be alright with it. It just feels like we're making a desperation move before we should be in desperation mode.
  20. The upside here is that Darnold has more physical ability than Teddy. If he works out, great. If he doesn't, he has a lot bigger bust potential than Teddy did too. I just hope it's one or the other. Light it up and be the answer or suck it up and get us Howell next year. No half stepping please.
  21. Where he looked FAR better than Darnold has ever looked.
  22. He played six seasons in Miami, not two.
  23. What happened after that for Tannehill? I mean, since we're not cherry picking...
  24. The good ones still find a way to look good. Mayfield has had four head coaches in three seasons. He still went 6-7 as a rookie throwing for 3700 yards and 27 TDs in 11 starts with his head coach being fired mid-season. The good ones find a way to look good themselves even when the situation is a dumpster fire.
