Our history at OT is straight trash. Gross and Moton are the only guys we've ever had who would've actually been highly sought after by other teams. LOL @ that Matt Kalil contract.

We just went under contract on a property about an hour and a half NW of Charlotte. Never let it hit the market. Heard through the grapevine they were going to sell and hammered out a deal. 2400 square feet newer home on 10+ acres with a private pond would've been a bidding war. They were willing to forego potentially more money to avoid showings because they're both working from home and their kid is doing remote learning.

Let's talk linebackers (Rostered, draft, & FA)

Borland reminds me of that Clemson LB we signed as a UDFA a few years ago. Really good college player, just clearly not athletic enough to make the transition to the NFL. -

This. LBs are luxury items. You need pass rushers, secondary, and some block occupiers in the middle in today's NFL. Honestly, LB is basically a dying position. The modern NFL LB is more akin to the old school SS than it is to the NFL LB of the '80s. -

Yes it is, we just chose poorly. LBs who can't cover are useless in today's NFL. We had a college staff who had to learn this lesson the hard way. -
100% agreed. It's very obvious the people who never had a job where they have to constantly interact with the general public. People treating wait staff and retail workers like they're servants who are beneath them make me absolute fighting mad and unfortunately all these trash reality TV shows actively encourage it. Evidently acting like a complete piece of poo toward your fellow humanity = "acting like a boss". fug that poo. Those people need an ass stomping. Rant off.

We're going to sign a lot of mid to low level FAs. LB is a relatively easy position to fill with those types of players. That's one thing we've done wrong throughout our franchise history. Sure, we have a great history at LB but we have always way over-invested at the position. Lots of 1st round picks and lots of cap space. LB is rapidly becoming the RB of the defense. Unless you have a truly elite talent, just churn and burn at that position. You can find mid-round draft picks and mid-level FAs. -

CB is definitely higher than LB IMO. If for no other reason than positional value. There's a reason why our 3rd down D was so bad. Our secondary is NOT good. I agree that OL is a HUGE need, but you seem to have missed our far and away biggest need. -

I'm looking at 2nd to 4th rounders at LB. My favorites include Chazz Surratt, Pete Werner, Nick Bolton, and Monty Rice. And honestly, the only way I'm going LB in the 2nd is if there's no one there at CB or OL that I view of worthy of the draft position. 3rd or 4th IMO is the sweet spot for us at LB. I would expect one of the names I listed to be there in the 3rd. Monty Rice could potentially be there in the 4th. -
If we trade for squatson, do we go wr as early as possible?

Every indication is that the Texans would want defensive players in a trade. -
The most valuable asset in the NFL is an elite QB on a rookie contract, but if I'm the Jags and Houston calls me and offers Watson for #1 overall straight up I'd struggle to say no. I think Lawrence is going to be a good QB but if the over/under on him is Deshaun Watson I'd feel pretty comfortable taking the under.

Honestly, it's probably about all I'd offer. Dude seems like a headcase.

Gotta remember though, while Trask isn't a great NFL prospect, he was a great college QB. Vernon Davis' college QB situation was straight up atrocious.
-
I'm a big UNC fan and he absolutely torched us. I knew he was a really good player but I was like how in the hell is this TE who is 50 pounds heavier than any of our DBs running past our DBs like they're wearing concrete boots??? Then he ran sub-4.4 at the Combine and it was like ohhhhhhh... THAT'S why.
-
He's a helluva prospect. He reminds me of Vernon Davis coming out of Maryland. Hell no I wouldn't take him over anyone we think can be a franchise QB. For the record, Vernon Davis was drafted 6th overall. He was a very good NFL TE but I would argue that he failed to live up to his hype and potential though he did end up 11th all-time among TEs in receiving yardage and 6th for TDs so I wouldn't argue that opinion too hard.

Yeah, if you subtract those three guys we'd probably field the worst D in NFL history. Hell, if I'm Watson I probably lean on my no trade clause to prevent that deal from happening. You'd probably be saddling yourself to a team that would be 3-5 years away from competing due to what they gave up to get you.
