From what I've seen this place has always been a whining forum.

Spray and pray doesn't work for the dumb badguys in movies and books, so you may be onto something.

I've seen some posts on reddit saying it's rumored he may retire. Supposedly his contract is up.

According to Rod Boone, JB's firing was Kupchak's decision and MJ signed off on it. The article also goes into talking about potential new hires a little. Open the link in a private window to get around the pay wall.

Hurney's ghost is back in the building and will be taking an LB at 6.

James Borrego / Matt Rhule…. Is their a worse 1-2 combo
jayboogieman replied to TheBigKat's topic in Carolina Panthers
From what I've always seen, it was a fairly even split between those that liked him and those that didn't. I didn't mind him. The team improved each year under JB, but they lost the play-in game badly this year and last year. Guess the Hornets' FO decided he just couldn't get the team to take the next step and parted ways. -
I'll eat my crow. I was wrong in thinking Mitch and MJ wouldn't fire him since he just signed the extension.

This is yet to be proven true. Giving Rhule a huge contract was stupid. Not admitting his mistake, canning Rhule, and paying two coaches is cheap. This isn't true. Dumpster diving for washed up vets is not doing every possible thing to find a franchise QB. The easiest way to find a franchise QB is the first round of the draft. That is something Tepper's Panthers have yet to try. In fact, his Panthers passed on two guys in a stronger QB draft in favor of a CB. Those two guys would probably be top 5 picks this year.

Rhule is the best football coach the world has ever seen. Nobody has more knowledge or skill than Rhule. It's not his fault you guys just can't see or appreciate his genius. And it'll only take another 7 years to prove it. You'll see!

This is already being discussed. Saudi Arabia has already given citizenship to a robot. You may have been joking, but others are not.

Discussion: The Panther Decision involving Baker
jayboogieman replied to MHS831's topic in Carolina Panthers
I don't have a dog in the fight, but to be fair, Mayfield was injured last season and still put up numbers as good as Darnold's best season in 2019. @ForJimmy is correct that Mayfield has been the better QB of the two. That said, it's a low bar to clear. -
Panthers meet with Sam Howell
jayboogieman replied to DaveThePanther2008's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yep. If you have Howell or any of the other QBs rated as a first round pick and the best one available, you take him at 6 instead of risking another team taking him before you can if you traded down. -
Good post. Didn't Kofi Cockburn declare for the draft too?
-
I've said for months I think Rhule will get at least 4 seasons before Tepper will move on from him. People as wealthy as Tepper aren't the sort to throw away millions of dollars just because they can afford to. Rhule getting the majority of his contract will make it easier for Tepper's ego to swallow the rest and admit he was wrong.

An actual winning season. And for the Hornets babysteps like that are needed. -

If the roster was good enough to get into the playoffs comfortably, the Hornets wouldn't have gotten blown out by the Hawks in the play in game. The lack of a starting caliber NBA center that can play a little defense and rebound is a huge problem. The defensive scheme and lack of defensive effort are two other huge problems. Finally, the Hornets have too many streaky players on the roster. Hayward and Rozier are being paid like they are those consistent go to scorers or players, and neither one of them are that guy. Bridges isn't there yet despite the leaps he has taken the last couple years. Ball isn't there either. Oubre is a newer version of Bobcats era Ben Gordon. Martin is a role player and glue guy that brings some energy and hustle off the pine. Washington is inconsistent and doesn't give good effort most nights. McDaniels is meh. Harrell is another glue and hustle guy. IT was a desperation move and no where as good as he once was. Richards and Plumlee are meh too. Jones, Bouknight, and Thor could barely crack the lineup and it's way too soon to say what they'll be as pros. -
Down 30 with over 3 minutes left. JB should just put in the Swarm guys.

That is a good comparison.
