Shoot, as much as I love and root for Foreman, I would like to go after David Montgomery. He looks like he's ready to light the league on fire.

Which of these FA WRs would you want to go after?

Lets just say next year, we will get fleeced -

We would have to trade up into the top three then. -
Tony Pauline: CJ Stroud or Anthony Richardson

That's what I'm thinking there. I wouldn't trade the pick to the Colts though. They would punk us and draft Stroud or Young. The Texans on the other hand, if they give us their extra 1st round pick and they draft Richardson, that would be a FLEECE!!!!!!!!!!! -

Not at one. If we stay there, its going to be Stroud. If we trade down to 2, it will be either Stroud or Young depending on who's there. The only way we draft Richardson is if we trade down further than the top two spots. I don't see us doing that. There is really nothing Richardson can say or do that would warrant us picking him over Stroud or Young. These reports are nothing but our front office putting out smoke screens. Keeping everybody on their toes. -

Come on folks, we all know Stroud is the pick at one. -

I wouldn't trade for a receiver. For me, we need to save what ammo we can in order to move up and get Marvin Harrison next year. I'm willing to sell all the marbles to get him. -
I hear you. The NFL is just a different beast. I remember a couple of games this year with Mayfield, and one where he had 8-9 batted passes. It stunned me because that wasn't something he was known for. I fear Young may have a good year or two, but then the NFL see something that's specific to his size, and they exploit that for the rest of his career.
-
Most people bring up Young's size in relation to if he can hold up health wise in the league. Yet for me it's not only that, I actually believe his size will effect his overall play as a QB in this league. I'm thinking about the amount of balls that will be swatted out of the air like flies. Nothing grinds my gears more than seeing a 10 yard pass batted down at the line of scrimmage, and see it intercepted. I feel that is going to be a regular occurrence for Young at his size. He's not going to line up in the shotgun 100% of the time like he did in college. He will be placed under center at times, making him closer to the line, and d-lineman will be licking their chops! While SEC defenses usually have NFL caliber players, college football is still college football. You also only stay in college for 3-4 years. In the NFL, Young will have a 10-15+ year career. That is plenty of time for NFL defenses to adjust to his play and shut him down if his play is dictated by his size. (By this, I mean if he has to adjust his throwing angle in any way due to his height, or if he has to move around a lot to have clear throwing paths.) So I mentioned this in another thread, how many top QBs in the NFL are above 6' tall? How many top QBs in the NFL are under 6' tall? Based on that answer, you have to draft the guy that fits the model. You can't screw around with this pick because you think a guy has talent or shown he has talent. You have to consider talent, size, and what other metrics there is. Young only ticks the talent metric.
-
How many of today's top QBs are at least 6' tall? How many of today's top QBs are under 6' tall? There is no question who we should draft in my estimation.
-
I would only do it if I was sure they will take Young, and I could get their extra 1st.
-
Burns ain't getting traded. Our current defensive coordinator was with the Rams when they offered two 1sts for Burns. I'm sure Evero played a part in that, so he wouldn't like if we traded Burns now. Heck, Burns may be a reason he decided to come here.

Some Saints fans are saying we might take Richardson. LOL!!!

So then, we’ve got a WR corps to build. What do y’all got?
Matthias replied to Bear Hands's topic in Carolina Panthers
If we're trading for a top receiver, I'd rather wait till next year and bring in Marvin Harrison. -
Make your pick known!

When it comes to us, because we built this Brainiac of a coaching staff, I think we're looking at a QB who's more prototypical in playing style and putting all our eggs in the basket with CJ Stroud or Bryce Young. Yet for a team like the Falcons, I have no idea why they wouldn't be interested. With a tall receiver in Drake London and a talent like Kyle Pitts, adding Lamar Jackson would make them a nightmare for teams around the league. WIth that said, when it comes to the Ravens, I don't see what they would get out of teams not offering Lamar a robust contract. As it is, Lamar is not going to play on the tag they gave him. Wouldn't be surprised at all if he decided to sit out this year if stuck in Baltimore.

Maybe we can trade for Jameis Winston.

Without LaMelo, the Hornets are officially the sorriest team in the league.

REPORT: Panthers to aggressive pursue trade up to get a QB
Matthias replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
That's it! We are going to have to sell our souls to move up to the top pick. The only QB worth it, is CJ Stroud in my opinion. I believe he will certainly be the number one pick. If another team moves up and draft Stroud, I believe we should stay put at 9 and draft Richardson or Bryce Young. (Not really a fan of Young due to size) If neither are there, go BPA. If Levis is there at 9, I wouldn't be oppose to drafting him, but at that point I would trade back. Overall, its Stroud at 1# or stay put. -
The only QB worth trading up for is Stroud in my opinion.
-
CJ Stroud is already the greatest QB in NFL history to come out of Ohio State.
-
All the other qbs are grunting in their movements, while Stroud is sleep walking through these drills.
