  1. I am prepared for whatever. If you are an adult you should be as well. But I expect a much better performance this year and hopefully more wins. Schedule will be tough but there aren't many excuses. I will be despondent and negative if we suck in October and November but for now am positive and looking forward to the season.
  2. We actually have an O line coach who know what he is doing. Now that we have some decent talent I expect a big improvement. The consolation is that if injuries hit we have several backups with significant starting experience so we don't have to shuffle players around. You are right, the line of all places needs guys playing next to each other in the same positions to develop anticipation through muscle memory. We hopefully have our starting 5 and everyone else is bucking for roster spots and playing time.
  3. Playing on the line is about chemistry and working together because you are only as good as your weakest link. Conversely it is all about working together as a group and the collective whole is better than each individual performance. So it isnt who is simply the strongest or most athletic but who is best in which position as a group. How is it that folks in the huddle know how everyone is doing and who should play where and when they haven't watched any practice at all. I doubt the coaches have even decided this yet. Maybe they should ignore practice and tune in here so they know what they should do....
  4. I know that we have good O line coaching with Campen who played in the NFL and coached several teams most notably Green Bay. He has a reputation for taking midrounders and turning them into quality starters. Look up and down the coaching roster. This is what we should have had for Rhules first season. Coupled with less micromanagement and letting your team win for you. He is learning to live his own preaching by changing his approach and do what he does best which is player interaction and getting buy in from the vets by making them coaches. I found his comments about letting the players take over and coach very refreshing. I just wish he was less of a sexual intellectual.
  5. The truth is the allure of the college coaches under Rhule was to able to develop young guys and develop them like they had to in college. That didn't work out very well. So now we have NFL coaches tasked with the same job. Hopefully they will be more successful. I am optimistic our coaching staff is much improved. How much it helps in terms of wins and losses is up in the air.
  6. He didn't play that much and when he did he didn't look good. After Gilmore came in his reps significantly declined. Agree that he needs to live up to his potential and I hope Wilks is up for the challenge. I am expecting good improvement from a lot of players this year.
  7. I said he was a potential starter. Cats Crave said the same thing. Here is another of their articles talking about who is slated for a bigger role in 2022. Yeah it is CJ Henderson. Seems your reading is as bad as your logic and understanding. https://catcrave.com/2022/05/31/4-carolina-panthers-players-bigger-roles-2022-offseason/ Again I didn't say guaranteed starter but potential starter. With as much nickle as we play he will be on the field if he continues to develop.
  8. Typical response when you are proven wrong. You asked who thought he was a potential starter, I showed you and of course you can't admit you were wrong as usual.
  9. https://catcrave.com/2022/06/13/ranking-best-carolina-panthers-players-25-years-old-2022/3/ Seems the motivation issues in Jacksonville were not apparent in Carolina.
  10. Yeah since salaries have so escalated and the average defensive back makes over 10 million with the best at 20 million it is hard to add free agents. So trading for guys on rookie contracts has become popular to control the money and hopefully fix the issues if he is being traded so early in his career.
  11. First of all who wants to play for Jacksonville? Second he was the 9th pick in the 2020 draft. And you can't tell me you know he can't play. He was not horrific and should be much improved based on a much better scheme. Get with the now and stop rehashing history. You will stay less triggered and when what I say comes true you will look smart too.
  12. I just did and have reasons to be optimistic. Henderson is projected as a possible starter depending on how much we match up Horn on a specific player or allow him to play a side. Wait and see how much better the secondary plays with Wilks as coach. It wasn't the players, it was the poor coaching plain and simple.
  13. We have added players after cuts every year in training camp since we became a franchise. Most every team does this. I am sure we will as well this year. Not sure how that is a bad thing unless we grossly overpaid or got ripped off. The Darnold trade was a calculated risk as was trading next years third for Corral. Getting Henderson is going to pay off this year and Gilmore while a short term rental taught our secondary alot in his time here. Not sure those trades were a bad idea or borne out of desperation.
  14. I love how everyone comments with no understanding where things are today. Everything is about bitching about last year or beyond. I know you have been traumatized by our quick starts and huge fades, but this is 2022. Let's see how things unfold before constantly bitching about the past. Unless you have figured out how bitching about yesterday impacts tomorrow. And no they aren't connected or inevitable. The huddle isn't therapy, if you are that traumatized then get help. Otherwise stop with the constant complaining. Public service announcement....
  15. It depends on how they play in our system with the other guys we have on the line. I was pointing out that size wasn't the issue technique was. Are you debating that or saying they would suck anytime even as depth or something else???
  16. Everyone points out are DEs are too light and not very good against the run. Which is partly true. We aren't lighter than most teams at DE but you can't sell out against the pass every down and play the run first. If our back end does well it allows the line and linebackers to focus on the run first rather than going all out on blitzing and if you don't get there the secondary is exposed for a big gain.
  17. This idea that we are small up front doesn't add up. Brown is 6-5 and 320. Iannidis is 305, McCall is 335, Roy is 330. Hoskins is the lightest at 280. So from a weight point we are plenty big. The problem was technique which is why we have a new D line coach.
  18. Given all the guys who were out due to injury and international play, it really let some other players get meaningful minutes. In his interview, Fuchs said in his speech to the players that this was there opportunity to show what they can do. Obviously several stepped up.
  19. That was a great win. Fantastic effort and the most physical I have seen them be yet. Our new coach stresses fitness and hard effort over tactical execution. It was on display today. And the fans were awesome as usual. It is great to go to the game and walk out a winner more often than not.
  20. I don't think anyone thought teams would trade for Jimmy straight up and take on that salary. The question is what kind of money will Jimmy work for?? What if he wants 15 or 20 million which is a deal these days. Do you pay it or keep what we got..
  21. You aren't alone. It has been hard to walk out of the stadium every week after losing again at home the last several years.
  22. Snows folks weren't good with adjustments and his fronts while better last year were still too predictable and easy to beat. I really think having better coaches and Wilks schemes will help us be much better this year on things like red zone defense and on third down. Hopefully Pascaloni can get the defense to play tough against the run and the pass.
  23. Keep in mind that guys like Michael Strahan played pretty darn well at 243 lbs. It isn't his size but the technique he is using which is a 1 gap DE going all out for the QB. If he played more of read and react where he played the run first and then the pass he would be more solid. But that requires the back 7 to hold up and usually it didn't. We have brought in several guys to compete and have guys like Brown, Roy, Nixon, Hoskins, laonnidis and some rookies in the middle and Burns, Matos, Haynes, Herron on the edges along with rookies again. Then mix in guys like Luvu who are often blitzing and we have some decent players. We just need a good scheme and so far the reports from Snow about Pasqualoni seem very positive. Should get a little better look when minicamp starts.
  24. Let's look at depth for example. With the addition of 3 potential new starters with NFL experience on the line along with Moton, most of the guys who started last year will be depth. So we will have a deep rotation with lots of guys with starting experience. If CMC goes down we have several good options with starting experience to come in. The secondary is the same way. Everywhere in free agency where we have brought in a potential starter is also a guy who gives us good depth if they get beaten out. About the only areas that are still unknown may be DLine and QB. And it is still early. How many guys do we bring in after training camp cuts.
  25. Which totally works as long as the player stays on the roster. But if the player is released or traded then all the remaining unaccounted for signing bonus accelerates to the current year. Which of course you can manipulate somewhat using the post Jun 1 release designation to spread the cap over 2 years.
