  1. If you listened to Fuchs interview after the change you can easily see that our first coach didn't have good relationships with the players, didn't ask for input, and was more about tactics and didn't want to develop everyone playing only the same guys each game. That is not what a new expansion team needed. The problem was hiring him to start with. I applaud them being willing to admit their mistake and making a change versus keeping him for appearance sake. After he got fired from his last job we should have never hired him. https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=https://www.wcnc.com/video/sports/soccer/fuchs-gives-insight-on-coaching-change/275-db3d0a97-8d16-413a-9f19-c8a838ddc6d2&ved=2ahUKEwjgz6Kv1df4AhVcoWoFHUW9BqEQwqsBegQIBRAD&usg=AOvVaw1MwkPXp__uz_qWk-UKlPxy
  2. I was at the game and yes we booed but it was more about the result and terrible refereeing. No one has given up on the team or owner. There wasn't much to cheer about and it was pretty frustrating but for a Thursday it was almost full. I still lost my voice by the second half.
  3. Just read NFL is recommending an indefinite suspension of at least a year but possible more depending on where things progress. Now onto the NFLPA and judge who will make final ruling.
  4. Since the company that was formed to run the project went bankrupt the only way for contractors to get money is to claim that the company and Tepper are the same and by commingling funds it takes away the protection a corporation provides and therefore Tepper and the Panthers are on the hook to pay everyone since they arent protected making the bankruptcy moot.
  5. Goodell works for the owners so he can be fired if he pisses too many owners off. It also takes 3/4 of the owners to remove an owner. I bet Goddell knows it won't get that many votes. Guys like Kraft won't be voting him out after what he did. And he was removed from day to day operations and fined 10,000,000.
  6. Goodell can't remove Snyder unless 2/3rds of the owners agree to it. He also is likely limited on how long a suspension he can meet out. Like Tose and Richardson the commissioner can request they sell or relinquish control to avoid a nasty and public investigation but Goddell works for the owners and can't just do as he pleases. Richardson wasn't forced to sell. He chose to sell versus having a huge public investigation and have his reputation totally ruined.
  7. The atmosphere and the rabid fans are surely different but don't kid yourself, college football is all about the money and now that college players can get paid, it will even be more about the money.
  8. Given that I work with folks who have experienced trauma and have PTSD I think a player can learn to overcome their panic reactions and improve under pressure. They either have to learn how to reduce their stress reaction or become more successful while under stress by rehearsing various options and strategies. I have wondered how teams could use video simulation and biofeedback to work with someone like Darnold on pressure or with Anderson on holding onto balls. Most folks who have these issues don't seek help for them and often want quick solutions and a pill. But they are absolutely fixable and the benefits can be lifelong.
  9. Can Darnold improve his panic response which is why he throws so many picks? I think he can. But you have to know what you need to do before you feel the adrenaline and cortisol. Sure he has some bone head throws when he is under little or no pressure but the 40% he is pressured is the huge reason he throws so many picks when he feels heat. And you have to be willing to dump it off and take the sure 5 yards instead of throwing a pick trying to squeeze it into double coverage. Know when to throw it away and when to run. A bunch of quick throws, dump offs and automatic reads will help both Darnold and Corral get used to playing in this system and should make them look better than they are. Of course ha ING a decent line might help as well.
  10. We are a QB away from contending. Hopefully we find him here or elsewhere. But the future is actually bright...
  11. I am prepared for whatever. If you are an adult you should be as well. But I expect a much better performance this year and hopefully more wins. Schedule will be tough but there aren't many excuses. I will be despondent and negative if we suck in October and November but for now am positive and looking forward to the season.
  12. We actually have an O line coach who know what he is doing. Now that we have some decent talent I expect a big improvement. The consolation is that if injuries hit we have several backups with significant starting experience so we don't have to shuffle players around. You are right, the line of all places needs guys playing next to each other in the same positions to develop anticipation through muscle memory. We hopefully have our starting 5 and everyone else is bucking for roster spots and playing time.
  13. Playing on the line is about chemistry and working together because you are only as good as your weakest link. Conversely it is all about working together as a group and the collective whole is better than each individual performance. So it isnt who is simply the strongest or most athletic but who is best in which position as a group. How is it that folks in the huddle know how everyone is doing and who should play where and when they haven't watched any practice at all. I doubt the coaches have even decided this yet. Maybe they should ignore practice and tune in here so they know what they should do....
  14. I know that we have good O line coaching with Campen who played in the NFL and coached several teams most notably Green Bay. He has a reputation for taking midrounders and turning them into quality starters. Look up and down the coaching roster. This is what we should have had for Rhules first season. Coupled with less micromanagement and letting your team win for you. He is learning to live his own preaching by changing his approach and do what he does best which is player interaction and getting buy in from the vets by making them coaches. I found his comments about letting the players take over and coach very refreshing. I just wish he was less of a sexual intellectual.
  15. The truth is the allure of the college coaches under Rhule was to able to develop young guys and develop them like they had to in college. That didn't work out very well. So now we have NFL coaches tasked with the same job. Hopefully they will be more successful. I am optimistic our coaching staff is much improved. How much it helps in terms of wins and losses is up in the air.
  16. He didn't play that much and when he did he didn't look good. After Gilmore came in his reps significantly declined. Agree that he needs to live up to his potential and I hope Wilks is up for the challenge. I am expecting good improvement from a lot of players this year.
  17. I said he was a potential starter. Cats Crave said the same thing. Here is another of their articles talking about who is slated for a bigger role in 2022. Yeah it is CJ Henderson. Seems your reading is as bad as your logic and understanding. https://catcrave.com/2022/05/31/4-carolina-panthers-players-bigger-roles-2022-offseason/ Again I didn't say guaranteed starter but potential starter. With as much nickle as we play he will be on the field if he continues to develop.
  18. Typical response when you are proven wrong. You asked who thought he was a potential starter, I showed you and of course you can't admit you were wrong as usual.
  19. https://catcrave.com/2022/06/13/ranking-best-carolina-panthers-players-25-years-old-2022/3/ Seems the motivation issues in Jacksonville were not apparent in Carolina.
  20. Yeah since salaries have so escalated and the average defensive back makes over 10 million with the best at 20 million it is hard to add free agents. So trading for guys on rookie contracts has become popular to control the money and hopefully fix the issues if he is being traded so early in his career.
  21. First of all who wants to play for Jacksonville? Second he was the 9th pick in the 2020 draft. And you can't tell me you know he can't play. He was not horrific and should be much improved based on a much better scheme. Get with the now and stop rehashing history. You will stay less triggered and when what I say comes true you will look smart too.
  22. I just did and have reasons to be optimistic. Henderson is projected as a possible starter depending on how much we match up Horn on a specific player or allow him to play a side. Wait and see how much better the secondary plays with Wilks as coach. It wasn't the players, it was the poor coaching plain and simple.
  23. We have added players after cuts every year in training camp since we became a franchise. Most every team does this. I am sure we will as well this year. Not sure how that is a bad thing unless we grossly overpaid or got ripped off. The Darnold trade was a calculated risk as was trading next years third for Corral. Getting Henderson is going to pay off this year and Gilmore while a short term rental taught our secondary alot in his time here. Not sure those trades were a bad idea or borne out of desperation.
  24. I love how everyone comments with no understanding where things are today. Everything is about bitching about last year or beyond. I know you have been traumatized by our quick starts and huge fades, but this is 2022. Let's see how things unfold before constantly bitching about the past. Unless you have figured out how bitching about yesterday impacts tomorrow. And no they aren't connected or inevitable. The huddle isn't therapy, if you are that traumatized then get help. Otherwise stop with the constant complaining. Public service announcement....
