That was the other WR that was reported prior to tampering week that we were interested in. Truthfully, he's better than Parris, over a year younger, faster and more production. If we bring in Hardman or Chark, it's a dub. Campbell made sense here and offered the allure of what could be when healthy, but I don't see that true #2 ability that Hardman and Chark demonstrate.

Big Board & Pick 39: Offensive Skill Player Rankings
Soul Rebel replied to Bear Hands's topic in Carolina Panthers
Great topic. I know I'm in the minority on two things - not high on Josh Downs and I think Tillman is the better NFL WR at Tennessee. I'd prefer to trade the 39 for Jeudy or Nuk, but if we are picking there, we take the BPA of WR/TE. My ideal dream scenario: Trade #1 + 4th to HOU for #2 + #33 (Stipulation that they draft Young and do not trade out of that slot so we get CJ7). Use our #39 pick in a trade for Jeudy or Hopkins Draft Flowers at 33. Stroud Sanders-Hubbard-Blackshear Jeudy-TMJ-Flowers-Shenault Hurst-Tremble-Thomas -
Really feeling one of the Broncos WRs comes here via trade....maybe outside shot of Hopkins with the ties to South Carolina. Adrian Wilson can't hurt and the kinship with our newest DT too.
-
I'd love to pluck Elijah Moore from their roster, but CD wouldn't be a bad option either. I do think Davis goes back to GB as part of the comp package for Rodgers.

I like Ian Thomas more today than I did yesterday. Very selfless move and seems like a win-win. I would still like for us to draft a TE in R3 this year given how deep it is...I'm sure one of the big names will slip. With Hurst here, Thomas expiring next year and Tremble's upside, we have a two-year window to find our future stud TE. Either way, I think this staff will get Tremble into a top-flight TE2 and potentially low-end TE1. He was very raw coming out of ND....good thing the OC's specialty is TEs.

Trying to figure out what Nuk's contract would look like for us if traded, as well as comp going back. If AZ eats a big portion of what he's owed and the ask is a third rounder, then I'm game. That 2nd rounder needs to stay as a trade for Jeudy or for drafting a TE or WR. I think Hopkins has a good amount left in the tank. He's not a long-term answer, but could give us 2-3 more years of similar play.

Panthers to host former Vikings WR Adam Thielen
Soul Rebel replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Always wondered why his visit was pre-announced yesterday. Felt like a leverage move against a contender and who is more WR needy than us right now? Best of luck wherever you end up Thielen. -
JuJu to the Pats for the same deal as Jakobi.

Panthers to host former Vikings WR Adam Thielen

Appreciate the info. Would've been a solid signing, but by no means hurts our offseason. His vet presence would've been a nice addition to an overhauled offense and rookie QB. -
Absolutely. I'm 100% onboard with being aggressive this year and being the ones "in control" of the draft at the top. I looked on Colts' message boards while researching Campbell and they were disappointed that they were leapfrogged by us. I'm assuming the sentiment is similar with the QB needy teams like Vegas and ATL. I'd much rather us be in the drivers seat and ensuring we get our guy this year vs. what's left over at 3 or 5.
-
True. My point being is that if you wanted Levis, would it not have made more sense to move up to 3 and keep DJ? Moving up to 1 to "control the draft" just to move back seems counter-productive. I find it hard to believe that Carolina and Indy both have Levis as #1 on their board.

Am I crazy to think that we are trading is an awful trade: DJ Moore '23 1st - #9 overall '23 2nd - #61 overall '24 1st '25 2nd for '23 1st - #4 overall '23 3rd - #79 overall '23 4th - #106 overall '24 1st '25 2nd We lose DJ Moore to move up 5 spots in '23 for the right to miss out on the #1 QB and take the #3 or #4 QB instead? The IND 3rd and 4th is worth less combined than our 2nd that went to Chicago. We swap 1st's in '24 and 2nd's in 25 with IND. We've downgraded in every aspect of this deal. Maybe I'm overlooking something....my maths could be off this early in the AM.

Also a redhead wearing # 14..... Darnold PTSD will ensue.

Panthers showing interest in RB Jamaal Williams
Soul Rebel replied to Saca312's topic in Carolina Panthers
I LOVE Williams' story and wouldn't be mad if he's our RB on a fair 2-3 yr deal. Foreman also has a pretty emotional backstory as well. I prefer Foreman, but hope we sign the cheaper/best value of Foreman, Williams, Sanders or Mattison. I think they will all produce similar numbers here with this OL, with Sanders & Mattison being younger. -
Why would a team with the roster construction of the Jets send two firsts for a 39-year old QB that is taking his sweet time milking the attention. Flip the script, send two firsts for Lamar and have a 26-year old former MVP for the next 5+ years. Lots of young talent and coaching there.
-
Soooooo, the guy is essentially taking a lateral payment or potentially a small reduction in salary to come here. That tracks with a vet that is a year older and entering his 30s. Also, let's not forget that Hurst was drafted at 25 years old, so he only has 5 years of tread off his tires.
-
Meh. Best case scenario, Campbell is Curtis Samuel. I'd rather give Shenault the smoke route, bubble screen and gadgety reps and find someone else other than Campbell. We shall see.....it does make a lot of sense for a buy low candidate that knows Reich.

Panthers sign Bengals TE Hayden Hurst
Soul Rebel replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Solid signing. Not who I preferred at TE....wish Moreau or Gesicki would've been brought in, but we have a legit pass-catching TE. Assuming the $$ are less for Hurst vs. others. Well done Panthers!! -
Love it. $10M for two years....his knowledge will be outstanding for our rookie and can settle back into the background once they are ready to start. Also helps bringing knowledge from his former NFCS Team.
-
Exactly. Also, I think Davis will end up being part of the package going back to GB along with draft compensation. Moore showed a lot of promise as a rookie....just have to make sure as you mentioned, that he is a cultural fit.
-
I don't think there's a WR1 available currently....maybe...maybe Jerry Jeudy. I think he can be had for our #39. I'm kicking tires on Elijah Moore with the Jets and also Sutton in Denver for less than Jeudy would cost.
-
Dalton, Minshew, Mariota or Rush for FAs...cheaper QBs that can easily be relegated to the clipboard later in the year. Would a 6th/7th get Foles from Indy? $3.5M in '23 and a FA after the season. We need to spend our money on other areas if we're drafting a QB that should start at some point this year. Jacoby & Wentz will cost more, which is less $$ for WR/TE/RB.

I do hope he’s back. I think Duce and Brown LOVE a RB like Foreman….especially with a rookie under center. I think we have all the leverage and will make a wise, value-based decision. If we don’t bring him back, I would like Mattison here. Young, balanced and hungry to prove he is a starter after living in Cool’s shadow. We will be a RBBC anyway and could take a day 3 flyer too.
