Maybe. It could also mean that we aren't going to be throwing the ball as much, but Shi Smith could be used more on special teams, and we might run a few reverses and such with him.
-
But a lot of them are. And many of those that are end up being very good players. Sometimes coaches do this because they want to try a different lineup. Sometimes they do it because they want to send a message. Sometimes a little bit of both. Lots of gigantic over reactions in this thread.

OJ might be smarter than Joe Brady

He has a lot less of it now than he did before committing the murders. He may not have been convicted from a criminal perspective, but the Civil trial cost him a large percentage of his fortune. And then he ended up in prison for a long time anyway for another crime. He isn't very bright. -
Personally, I prefer ticket master, but the two you mentioned would work as well.

Breaking: Jaycee Horn at Practice
Davidson Deac II replied to CarolinaLivin's topic in Carolina Panthers
That was more due to their choice. They were abusing us in the run game in the first half as well, they just chose to run more in the second half. -
No ones talking about our next game....

New Orleans sucks to. They were ok before famous Jameis went out, but they have lost to two of the three NFC east teams they have played. They also lost to us and the Falcons. Tampa is the only decent team in the division at this point, although that could change. -

NFC East is stronger than our own division. -
5 major factors blame for loss. Cat Crave

All this crap about Cam being brought in to sell tickets is just noise. Because of PSL's, the tickets are already sold. The Panthers don't get any extra money from ticket resales. They do sell some extra concessions of course, but given there were only three home games left when we resigned Cam, the money isn't that much. Our qb play this year has been horrible. It wasn't going to get better. Cam is a dramatic improvement even if he isn't his old self. That was obvious against Washington. And Tepper wants to win now. That is why we signed Cam. Everything else is just noise. -
Rivera played Rhule again

The narrative that Ron intentionally lost to us last year to screw up our draft position is amusing. Silly, but amusing. This year, his offensive line dominated our defensive line. That is hardly playing us. Its what 99.9% of football coaches try to do. He is a football coach, not Emperor Palpatine. -
Panthers lead the league in Penalties
Davidson Deac II replied to Fox007's topic in Carolina Panthers
It was a horrible call, fortunately it had little impact on the game as they fumbled a few plays later. But the vast majority of the penalties were our own fault. -
We have a defense that is set up to be a speed defense. If a team can run the ball up the gut well, we struggle to stop them. Especially when they have an effective passing game and we can't load up in the box.

Predict the Percentage of Panthers/WFT Fans
Davidson Deac II replied to The Huddler's topic in Carolina Panthers
110% panthers, -25% Washington. That is effort and energy, I have no idea about fans in seats. -
I wouldn't say it helps us a lot. Personally, I don't think the Falcons have much of a shot at the playoffs, and we already beat them in their place. But it helps a little and they are a division rival, so go Patriots.
-
In fairness, 90% of NFL coaches fail if they don't have a good quarterback.

Talk to me about WFT. What do you know?
Davidson Deac II replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
Some people have a hard time changing. I don't think its the Nature of NC, just the nature of people in general. The vast majority of Washington fans in the state are older, and their children may switch. -

Davidson Deac II replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
I grew up a fan. They were on TV every Sunday before NC got a team. And they were the Cowgals biggest rival and I hated the Cowgals. -
Our defense has been very good against one dimensional teams, or teams with poor qb play. It struggled some against the good offenses. There is no shame in this really, these days there are very few truly dominant defenses. The best defense in the league this year gave up 34 points to the Titans. And I do think the additions in the secondary will make us even better. Truth be told, outside of the Oline and QB, our play has been good enough this year to be a contender. Unfortunately, those two positions are very important. But if Cam can come in and just be average, we could challenge for a playoff spot.

Here's a hot take ( from a nutter )

I think Kapernick could be a decent backup. -
Which sports announcers (any sport) do you LIKE or HATE?
Davidson Deac II replied to PanthersATL's topic in Huddle Lounge
Most of them don't really bother me, but I did get to the point that I couldn't stand listening to Dick Vitale. Over the last few years of his career, there was to much rambling and very little discussion of the game he was working. Ironically, if you listen to his early years, he was insightful, and competent. But he became a Duke obsessed caricature. Even some Duke fans got tired of it. -
Fwiw, there were a lot of things that went on yesterday that helped the oline. For example, getting out to a 17 point lead (28 in the second half) means the team is rarely in a must pass situation. Fewer blitzes, and focusing on the pass rush for the defense. And it does seem that PJ makes decisions a little quicker than Darnold did.
-
And only 12-13 of his touches were runs. Most of the passes, he managed to get out of bounds or avoided taking hard hits.
-
PJ is still undefeated
Davidson Deac II replied to Move the Panthers to Raleigh's topic in Carolina Panthers
Well, if he had no flaws, he wouldn't be a back up. But yeah, he definitely has a good shot at being a career backup for us.
