  1. There are people who believe the playin games don't count as tournamanent wins or losses. I am kind of meh about it.
  2. I don't know if its so much that Johnson was great at hitting on picks as it was that he just had a lot of them. For example, he had something like five first round picks, three seconds, and five third rounders all in a two year period.
  3. I think Hankton had one year where he caught a few balls. My point was that they both are or were way down on the depth chart.
  4. Yeah. I get amused sometimes at how obsessed fans are over the 4th and 5th receivers. All we need is someone who can fill in reliably if the others guys get hurt or on the rare occasion we run 4 receivers. And is a decent to good special teams player. Doesn't have to be a superstar. Moore can do that. He is basically Karl Hankton.
  5. It just seems to me that the key to winning in balance your picks and cap space across you team. With the exception qb, you don't need to have top 5 player at every position. We don't really need to spend a first on WR. If we do, great and I hope it works out, but we need to pick up someone who has good hands and get downfield.
  6. Assume this means the Bengals will be drafting a lot of defense. Could be wrong though, as they also need help on the oline.
  7. He was already under contract. We cut him and took a dead money hit. We likely offered a hearty handshake, and to put in a kind word for him with his next team.
  8. The Cowboys do have a history of being willing to trade up in the past. They moved up four spots to get Emmit Smith and traded up to get Morris Claiborne. So it wouldn't be shocking.
  9. If I am reading it right, Thielen is exactly the same age that Ricky Proehl was when he was an integral part of our SB run. And only a year older than Jericho Cotchery who was also an integral part of a SB run. Not every receiver needs to be superfast. Just having the ability to get open with great hands is nice to have. But we do need to put some speed guys beside him. Hopefully Legette can step up.
  10. Johnny Mingo and Miles Sanders. Maybe Ian Thomas is next.
  11. Based on the details, this seems like a fantastic move. Solid back for next to nothing. Most Cowboy fans are wondering wtf. Suppose the Cow gals will make RB a top priority in the draft.
  12. Guy averaged 4.6 ypc on a team that had almost no passing attack to speak of. And we signed him for 1 year. Seems like a good deal and will give us a solid backup for CH.
  13. Have to see the details such as how much is guaranteed, but on the surface, this seems like a deal that will ensure the Steelers continue to struggle for several years.
  14. Statiscally, Darnold and Smith are about the same. Not sure why Seattle would dump Smith to get Darnold, especially given that Darnold is likely going to cost more. I guess we will see how I turns out.
  15. Might be wise of him to take a page out of Luke's book. Retire before the body is completely fried.
  16. I would hate to see us take a WR. Its not our worst position, not even close. DE or LB should be the pick.
  17. Yeah, I said that before morning coffee. You are correct. My point was though that the market for safeties is higher than it use to be. And will soon go higher. I would gladly see the team pay more than 10 million for Jesse Bates. Whether this fellow is worth it, I have no idea.
  18. About half the starting safeties in the NFL make 10 plus a year. Within a year or two, that number will likely rise to around 20 of the starting safeties.
  19. Well, you never really know. Analyst get it wrong all the time. A lot of people thought Trubisky was better than Mahomes. Cam Ward could end up being great. But I personally wouldn't take the risk if I were the Cardinals GM/Owner. Get someone who will make the team better and maybe draft a qb later.
  20. I read today that the Cardinals might swap Murray for a first round pick. They may want to draft Ward or Sanders. Personally, I would keep Murray over either of those two, but you never know.
  21. The mostly likely scenario for us moving up would be if Sanders or Ward is available when it comes to our time to pick. Unlikely, but possible.
  22. Would be great to trade back IF Someone is willing to give us enough to make it worthwhile.
  23. Maybe, maybe not. Blackshear wasn't drafted, he was an undrafted free agent. So we may plan to bring someone else in without drafting anyone.
  24. I can agree with that. Fwiw, I wish we would go back to the 4-3 and bring in a more traditional defensive end. That being said, I will point out that some thought Thomas Davis would be a safety when we drafted him. It was of course clear early that lb was his best position.
