  1. Our offense is pretty bad, but I wouldn't call either of these teams' offense competent tonight. On their first four drives, the Bengals has 13 plays, 14 yards, and 4 punts.
  2. They are 2-2. They lost 11-10 to the Broncos. They will likely beat us today. But they still may not make the playoffs.
  3. What's to communicate. Rhule, lets run 20 consecutive pass plays. Mcadoo, ok.
  4. I doubt it will make much of a difference regarding wins, but it certainly wouldn't hurt.
  5. He is right. We ran the ball a couple of times to start the third qtr. We punted, and they tied the game at 10-10. After that, we passed the ball roughly 20 consecutive times. By the end of that stretch, we were down 26-16. 20 consecutive throws might work with Mahomes or Brady. It ain't working with Baker Mayfield.
  6. He will be targeted 6 times, two completions, 1 interception and three batted passes. Its the Panthers way.
  7. Offenses across the league are down this year, or maybe it just seems that way. I wouldn't be a bit surprised if our game on Sunday was in the neighborhood of 12-6, absent some defensive scores.
  8. The third qb picked in the 2017 draft was Deshaun Watson (great talent, terrible person) The third qb picked in 2018 was Josh Allen (the first two picked are both on our roster). The third qb picked in 2019 was, well he wasn't very good. The third qb picked in 2020 was Justin Herbert Trey Lance was #3 in 2021, and well, the jury is still out. It seems that some luck is involved in picking the right qbm but sometimes, being the third pick or a later pick might save the team from doing something like picking Sam Darnold.
  9. Maybe we need a coach who almost made it, or failed and was fired from one team, got out of the NFL for a while, and then came back and won it all. That has happened.
  10. Parcells made the Super Bowl in his second stint as a head coach with New England. Jimmy Johnson made the playoffs three of his four years with Miami. That being said, its difficult to repeat success as a Super Bowl winner. For that matter, its difficult to get to and win the Super Bowl The odds are stacked against any specific team and coach.
  11. He did well at getting the most he could out of Kaepernick, not sure that is the same as developing him. But I wouldn't be opposed to the hire, and I am certainly not a fan of Harbaugh.
  12. I think Harbaugh would make the team instantly better. But he would wear out his welcome in 3-4 years, and I am not sure he would be great at developing a young qb, assuming we draft one.
  13. This Manning thing is annoying. First time I have tried to watch it, and I lasted five minutes before changing the channel.
  14. The forty whiners' offense is fairly bad. Not Panthers bad, but pretty bad. A 12-3 loss for the Panthers is what I expect.
  15. It would be unusual for them not to. Just look at the Panthers history. Even Clausen and Weinke both stuck around for a while after new coaching staffs (Fox and Rivera) took over. And they both had terrible resumes.
  16. Nearly 200 yards and two td's in one half of football. That doesn't sound like he is done. If he is, it will show up later this season.
  17. The new staff will probably draft a qb and Corral will get a chance to play. Even if he only gets a shot at backup.
  18. The offense has gotten progressively worse all three years, and it wasn't that great to start with. We can blame Bridgewater, Mayfield, Cam, Darnold, etc... but the reality is the only constant in this is Rhule. He has to go and then all the other decisions about qb and who we keep can start being made.
  19. No we wouldn't, but you guys keep up that active imagination. Cam couldn't win with the Patriots, couldn't win with us last year, and is sitting on the couch at home this year because no one wants him. He can't throw the ball well anymore. Hasn't been able to in several years. Unless he becomes a backup somewhere, he is done.
  20. Tied for first place Atlanta Falcons upcoming.
  21. I am not saying we won't draft a qb. We probably will unless we sign some big name. But Corral WILL be here next year and have a shot. That is almost beyond doubt unless someone wants to trade us something for him. Corral may end up being the backup.
  22. Yeah, that is kind of my thought. Rhule was desperate and decided to shoot the moon so to speak. He started out making bad decisions and every decision regarding qb has compounded the initial bad decision. Didn't work out, and it is going to cost him his job.
  23. The reality is most third round qb picks don't make it. But Corral will get a shot next year, and with a different and likely better coach. That will be better for him and slightly increase his chances of doing something for the team.
  24. Personally, I don't blame them for trying Mayfield. But the qb decisions have been bad from the start of Rhule's reign and that is what has doomed him. Mayfield is not the worst decision, just the latest in a series of bad decisions.
