While possibly true, having a guy like him means you might be more vulnerable in other areas because you have focus on him. So in theory, it should make your other players better. Of course, that is a theory. Whether it works out in reality is something we will find out this year. Green Bay had a good defense last year, top 10 in several areas. They should, in theory be better this year.

We went thru a trio of good middle linebackers from 2001-2019 (Morgan, Beason, and Luke). Only Luke played more than 4-5 full or nearly full seasons for us.

Linebackers seem to have a shorter shelf life than most positions, right up there with running backs. They take a lot of physical abuse, so it wouldn't surprise me if Parsons has 2-3 good years left and then begins to fall off.

In fairness, we have looked bad every year since 2017, regardless of how we performed during preseason.

But it should have been expected. He could have retired after Brady left and his legacy would be secure. But he just couldn't do it. And coaching college is a world of difference than coaching in the NFL. That being said, he could still turn it around. But I doubt having him will ever get UNC to the heights they expected when they signed him.

I am not even talking about his time with the Panthers. He did ok in his time as a backup with Washington. I think you vastly overestimate how good other backup's are in the NFL.

How can that be. He looked fantastic last year against Southwest Texas State hair care and tire changing college. But seriously, it is to early. I don't understand the people who want to anoint him as the best when has barely played. If he had a different last name, most of us would barely know who he is.

The handful that do make it are usually there because they were relatively obscure in college, decent talent on a subpar team. Jake Delhomme spent a year on the practice squad.

To be honest, most qb's on the practice squad just aren't good enough to become dependable NFL backs. A few might be, but they are relatively rare.

Even Jerry Jones isn't dumb enough to trade him to a division rival.

At least Dallas got some great picks for Parsons. We got nothing for Norman.

Well, as far as backups go, Kyle Allen is actually a decent one. Better at this point than Dalton probably. That being said, Hooker apparently had an atrocious game against the Texans.
