  1. Nah. I did 20 or so mock draft simulators and watched a ton of film (i.e. YouTube highlight reels). All these guys were reaches. Seriously though, the rankings we see from the media is just speculation. Gotta see how this plays out.
  2. I don't mind the X links posted but I would mind if we took an RB at 39.
  3. Starts the story off by talking about something he was doing. Leading with the "I" thing can be a hook but in Fowler's case it seems like everything wants to evolve around him. Middle class narcissist upset with a billionaire narcissist. Ended up skimming rather than reading. Sorry I even clicked it TBH
  4. 40 is the new 30 and so on. At least that’s what old farts like me want to believe.
  5. I get what you are saying but if you are a FO who loaded the line and brought in a vet WR in FA then and are still desperate enough to reach in order to get all shiny new toys for your “over drafted QB” to function then it doesn’t matter what the name of the game is. The game is lost already. I’m fine with a double dip in round 2 if it falls into place or picking up a 2nd receiver later. Just don’t want to reach out of desperation.
  6. IF the draft plays out like that and both 2nd round picks are WR and its not a reach so be it. I somehow doubt it plays out like that but there is no guarantee that happens. We have needs all over the field on both sides of the ball though.
  7. Many times the best deal is the one you have. This team has 2 top 40 picks with a draft full of talent and a team full of holes. Whatever they do they should not squander the opportunity that is sitting in front of them. Best you can hope for is that they don’t overthink it.
  8. In the bot's defense, "consistent suckage" is technically a stable state.
  9. I am a bit dubious that they would actually guarantee they will take him if he is available. Especially if there are at least 32 unforeseen variables that may happen before you pick. Something like "Your on our board at 33" may have been misconstrued.
  10. This is well stated. I've often wondered and thought maybe there was a weighted composite formula that is scored that makes the grading quantifiable. It could also include intangible factors such as "dog" and "need". This is all conjecture and I'm dumb and blind as poo regarding what's in the secret sauce but that would be at least one way to approach it.
  11. Sane me says this is logical, rational and probably correlates with history. Draft Weekend Panther Fan Me says all of the guys we pick during the draft are either day one starters or will be solid contributors right away. Draft weekend Panther fan me needs help...
  12. Pure speculation on my part but I guess you could put the guy on the practice squad. Somehow I dont think too many teams are looking to purge a LS but could be wrong. Wouldn't want to waste a roster spot. I have to think the team and dare I say owner probably have a good relationship with JJ and will keep them in the loop on his retirement plans when he starts mulling it over. Dude breaks a team record every Sunday and that's gotta be cool for him.
  13. Tepper shiit canned the old bot when he got rid of Reich. Dude means business now
  14. This is a pretty good assessment IMO. As mentioned he is on a rookie contract and if he fails to improve we will likely have a high draft pick next year and wouldn't be surprised if we target a QB. I view the moves we've made should allow a young QB to display talent and grow. The upgrades to the line and beefing up the WR room also help, but it doesnt have to be the guy they have installed there now. That said, I want BY to succeed but he can't excel under these conditions or show marked improvement, you try to move on. Sure, it will turn out to be an extremely costly experiment but that is the only path.
  15. Exactly. Would love to have a guy step in that slot and be done. All depends how the draft falls but if one of those guys is available it would be hard not to jump on the pick.
  16. I want all of our players to succeed And maybe he can turn it around. But last season my hope changed to nope for TMJ
  17. I’m a state grad and love the limelight on the program. But I think this is only a cool novelty story and doubt it really goes anywhere. Unless he’s left handed.
  18. Right now I am crushing for a fast dude that can get open and catch. Also, archetype is a really fun word to say so thanks.
  19. Anything other than this needs to come with a caveat in my opinion. I am quite satisfied with the moves they made and it looks like there is a plan. But... We don't/cant/won't know whether or not this works until the games are played. Not hating on Morgan or putting the team down. I give Morgan and Co all the props as lots of these moves look to be calculated and appear to address holes, but we don't know until they play the games.
  20. Sorry. You must be confusing this place with some other fan forum you moderate. No one would ever overreact here.
  21. In principal I agree with this and like where your head is on this. I still think they need to look at BPA and hope it lines up with need though.
  22. I think it’s fine for me personally to be satisfied with the moves as long as expectations are tempered. On paper it looks good. On defense the Panthers traded away “best” defensive asset on the team but the defense still looks like it should be able to perform at the same or better level. While there are no on field everything looks positive so far. On offense there were glaring holes in protecting your QB and have made additions to protect your QB. If you go in a different direction and move on from Bryce that foundation should be good for the next guy. I like the moves and think there is a plan to this but they still need to hit in the draft and it's a given that all of this still needs to equate to field execution and game success. I think this is still a bad football team but they are a better than last year and things are looking up.
