  1. Last offseason we lost half our O-line and the entire secondary and WR group and still won the NFC south. This year we lost one below average tackle and an ok, but old and injured running back. Last year was 1000000 times worse than this year. One of the worse things you can do as a team is have a high constant turnover rate. Remember that Eagles "dream team" ? They did not even make the playoffs. If you have a good group of players that work together well, especially a good young group, the best thing you can do is keep them together as long as you can. Green Bay has been doing it for years. Have they signed anyone since Reggie White got there? They keep adding guys in the draft and re-signing guys they know can play in their system. That's one of the reasons I think Chip Kelly will fall flat on his face this year. Writers are just like fans in the offseason. After the draft and before training camp they got to find something to do. So this was his something.
  2. When we start a "balls deep" thread I am sure you and are you friends can talk about Brees all you want.
  3. Dres Anderson is a perfect fit for the offense we run, if his knee is ok. Jacory Sheppard is a 4th or 5th round corner that could really be good in a couple of years.
  4. Just because you can run fast and jump high don't mean you know how to play WR, or any position, in football.
  5. Many people side with the coach in this case. I get it, spoiled player and all. But if you remember the O-lineman that was cut earlier in the offseason, I forgot his name, kind of said the same thing. Usually where their is smoke their is fire. All NFL players have egos, if they did not they would not be in the NFL. Part of the job of an NFL coach is dealing with those egos. If every time a player has or develops an ego on the eagles, Kelly's answer is to cut him or ship him off to another team, he is going to have a hard time getting and keeping players on his team. Because he is going to end up overpaying for guys because that is the only way they will play for him.
  6. Can I say Alice? Or will that get me a ban
  7. Jennings has not had a 1,000 yard season since 2010. His last full year with Rodgers he had less than 1,000 in 2011. The year after that he was injured and only played half the season. He has been with the Vikings for 2 years and been their main target both years and he has yet to top 900 yards. He is better than Cotchery but it's not like night and day. 4 or 5 years ago it was but not now. At this point in his career he has a bigger name than production. He would improve the offense but its not he is going to move this offense into the top 5 or even the top 10 on his own. It would be a nice addition but at the end of the 2015 season it would not surprise me at all if he is sitting on the bench and Brown is starting in his place. So if we sign him, great. If we don't, whatever.
  8. I hope so but he has not shown it over the last 2 or 3 years.
  9. I don't know if he would be much of an upgrade over Cotchery. He had about 200 yards more than Cotchery last year but the Vikings did not have Olsen or KB. He was their main target and still only had a little over 700 year receiving. He's not bad, but at his age now is he really going to improve the receiving corps that much? He has not had 1,000 season since 2010. He's not a bad player, he just maybe not be the guy most of the people remember from GB 5 or 6 years ago. Big name but not such big production anymore.
  10. I'd take him in the first over any of the OT prospects to. And I like Humphries, Peat and Collins a lot. I even think Fisher could be a pretty good LT. Gurley could be the closest thing to Petterson, since well Petterson. If he can stay healthy. He might be the 2nd best player in this draft behind Williams from USC.
  11. I hear Michael Sam has ball skills. But not sure what they meant by that.
  12. Another guy is Jacorey Sheppard from Kansas. He just don't tackle real well so I don't know how much they will look at him. Should be a 4th or 5th round type of guy. Quick and fast and plays the ball really well.
  13. I like White, I just wish he was taller and a little faster.
  14. Doran Grant out of Ohio State is pretty good. About the same size and speed as Nelson. Should go around the same area as him as well, end of the 2nd to the end of the 3rd. Also Randall out of Arizona State and Rowe out of Utah are both the same kind of player. Both played mostly safety in school, Rowe played his senior year as CB. Depends on who you ask if they are better at safety or CB. Both are around the 3rd round area. Rowe is a bigger guy, which is what Ron seems to like. Randall is smaller. Both ran really good and tested really well at the combine. Depends as to what team they go to as to what they will play, safety or cornerback.
  15. This thread is not dildos. Or if it is dildos they are little ones.
  16. I am not saying you could not do that but what if those guys are not their. Or better, much better, players are there at other positions. Maybe no safety is worth a poo after the 2nd round. Or Jaelen Strong is taken by KC at 18, which is very possible. Then what do you do? As Gettlemen said "when you reach you get fuged". You don't have to fill all you needs in FA, but if you don't at least have guys that can play ok at those positions and all the good players are gone at the position you need by the time you draft, what do you do then.
  17. I am not saying you can't sign a big time #2 receiver I am saying it might not be the wisest of decisions. Let's look at the lions. They have a big cap hit for a QB a WR and last year they went out and signed a big time 1/2 receiver. Golden Tate is a good player and is costing them quite a bit against the cap, a little over $5 million. Because of all that spending they lost Suh. Sometime this offseason we will get a big contract for Cam, next year Luke, the year after that KK or Star, maybe both. If you want to go out and spend a big contract on a 1/2 WR which one of those guys do you want to lose. Because you won't keep all of them.
  18. When you only quote part of the post I guess it don't.
  19. Younger mediocrity maybe. Otherwise to get a true #2, as everyone wants, we are going to end up spending at least 20 million. With about maybe 6-8 of that guaranteed. If you want more help with the secondary and a DE that can start, I just don't see how that can happen without doing some Hurney economics and screwing yourself in the future. In the draft sure, go with BPA. In UFA, I just don't see how you can afford another expensive WR.
  20. The panthers can afford that? And get help in the secondary and get another D-lineman or 2 and get a 2nd TE? All of that with maybe $10 million in cap room. Hey I am all for it if they can I just don't want to go back to Hurney economics and spend every dollar you can now and fug the future up with contracts of Cam and Luke and Norman and at least 1 of either KK or Star coming up.
  21. Everyone wanting us to get another WR I just have one question. Where is he going to play? Greg Olsen will be on the field on almost every play. Kelvin will see most of the snaps on offense. They are not going to cut Brown or Ginn now. Usually 4 or 5 receivers are active on gameday. Cotchery would cost us money to cut right now and as much as people like to say he sucks he doesn't suck he is just not great and doesn't have great speed to stretch a defense. I am not saying they won't get another receiver in FA or the draft. I think they will, but maybe not a big time #2 receiver that everyone thinks we need so bad. It would not surprise me if the only other receiver they get is like a 4th or 5th round draft pick like a Kenny Bell or Stefon Diggs or Tre McBride. And they might not be active all year unless someone get injured.
