  1. There is a "short, medium and long," as classified by the NFL. Short is anything less than 10 yards. Medium is 10 to 19, and long is 20 and over. Now why it's that way, I don't know. I'm sure that the statisticians had their reasons, but I can assure you that it had nothing specifically to do with Bryce Young. It's likely that those are the most numerous types of passes, and perhaps there is no significant difference between moving the ball 20 yards down field or 50 yards down field when it comes to actual winning. I don't know. You also have to think that there is something said about using ball control and the clock to bring about successful outcomes as well. Like I said, I don't know. But I can tell you with surety that it had nothing to do with supporting Bryce Young.
  2. He hasn't played up to first round status, much less the first pick. Let's keep it a buck.
  3. If we need help so bad, Eric Ebron is out there likely just waiting for a chance to get back into action.
  4. Honestly, I didn't even know that Puka had a brother in the NFL until I saw it on NFL.com, and I assumed he was a rookie, but turns out that he came in in 2022 (but turned out to be a camp body). You gotta target the younger brothers if looking at the Nacuas and St. Browns.
  5. NFL types, including writers and, more importantly, statisticians define a deep pass as any pass that travels 20 air yards or more from the line of scrimmage. People may not like it, or want to accept it, but it is what it is. There is some uniformity---and continuity, actually---there.
  6. Well, that's not necessarily true. Most NFL types consider a pass 20 yards or more as a deep ball.
  7. It wasn't a bad pass, just not a perfect one. It doesn't make any difference anyway because it's practice, and not even a full squad on that play and no pads to boot. I think that choosing this play, of this practice, to criticize is just gratuitous hating. We're not going to learn anything from it, positive or negative, in the long run. There will be way more meaningful plays to critique in the near future.
  8. I mean, Juan, come on, dude... That ship has sailed. Legette is a Panther now for better or for worst. I would think that you'd be hoping for the best. At least give him some appreciable time to be the best that he can be and make the transition to the NFL before you start trashing him and spamming the place with unnecessary negativity about him.
  9. Yeah, he ain't gonna last with this type o' sh¡t.
  10. I mean, I think it's relative. I mean, personally, I'd say that .500 (8-8-1, LOL) is a high bar. Hell, five games might be a stretch. My mouth about fell open when Joe mentioned "playoffs," and yes I immediately (like CRA) thought of Jim Mora. So, in that spirit...".500? .500? You talkin' about .500?"
  11. You're talking about Bryce, I presume. Morgan's eyes are mesmerizing, but kind of discomforting at the same time.
  12. Sorry, guys, CRA posted while I was posting (I began with trying to post the X link live broadcast, then a regular link, then checked YT which was about 10 minutes later. Anyway... Thanks, @CRA
  13. Heeeeere's Danny: My spin: Expectations don't sound too high. Just thinking about taking things day by day, working the plan. Believes in Bryce (sounds real, but still coach-speak). Thinks he has all the tools to succeed in the league. Morgan did have a "we'll see" pertaining to Bryce. His philosophy is to churn the bottom of the roster. The best teams are player-driven, including the team culture. They've drafted high character guys. Hard Knocks do what it do. There were more phone calls on the Burns trade than they showed. It's good for fans. Media/fans may be sleeping on D.J. Johnson. Like I said...lots of believable coach-speak, but I have a gut feeling that there will be real competition for spots. I get the sense that Morgan is keen on adding upgrades from the waiver wire. I'd look for us to upgrade at least the CB position if not the EDGE.
  14. True dat! But worst in the league is a whole 'nother level of disappointment---the highest, really.
  15. I guess I've been intermittently linking vids on here that pretty much align with with my belief that Panthers fans should be realistic about expectations this season. For me, "The Armchair Quarterback" is absolutely on point with a sense of guarded optimism about the additions on offense and an appreciable dose of skepticism about the defense. Even with his "C.J. Horn" reference, you can tell that he's at least informed about the basics. One thing that he emphasizes is that the 2024 season is all about determining if Bryce is the guy or not. This is really the most important immediate question that speaks to the direction of our franchise.
  16. Detroit was very smart to draft Gibbs. It almost got them to the championship. I guess that I have a philosophical difference. Draft football players that can make an impact as much as possible. I think that this is especially important for a team that's rebuilding. You can't afford to miss the forest for the trees. This is a multi-year rebuild, and Brooks is only 21 years old and will hopefully have plenty of years to positively impact the team.
