  1. Have you not been paying attention to who makes up this coaching staff? These are guys who knows offense and knows QBs. If there's a coaching staff that you should trust with deciding on a QB, it's this one. Frank fuggin Reich Jim Caldwell Josh McCown Just these guys alone should be enough to warrant confidence in this team's ability to choose a good QB. It is for me anyway.
  2. That's not enough reason to not swing this year. Fug this timid crap. If you're confident, you go for it.
  3. If it was Rhule or Rivera or Fox &co....I'd be worried. With this crew we've got, if they are this sold on someone, I'm sold. If they are confident enough to make a move like that, then I'm excited. They know the risk and the cost better than anyone in here, but they (collectively) also know the job and the position better than most in the league.
  4. i have been thinking for a good while that AZ seems like the most likely and ideal trade partner. c'mon WIlson.... work your connections!
  5. easy? no. i doubt many think it is. expensive? it will definitely be that. necessary? it is definitely that we're going to make a serious attempt to trade up. there is very little chance that we sit back at 9 and wait for anyone unless some other team is mortgaging several years worth of draft capital. i'm sure that Fitt doesn't just have the green light to be aggressive in getting a top 4 pick, but he's probably been directed by Tepper to get it. this team isn't going to mess around. some in here may not like it, but they are going to have to get used to the idea that this team is going to do everything it can to ensure they get one of those top guys. the only real option outside of those 4 is Lamar and i don't see that as all that desirable for the team compared to getting one of these top guys in the draft.
  6. if he is available and 9 and we are still there then yes, we take him. absolutely. but... 1) he won't be there still 2) we won't still be at 9. if we're serious about getting a QB then we will be trading up. there won't be one at 9. and settling for any of the QBs past the top 4 is not a sign of a team serious about upgrading at QB.
  7. Dammit Juan. Is it too hard to actually post the damn tweet?
  8. Its getting harder and harder to find someone who is all in on Levis. I don't think people believe he can overcome his shortcomings anymore than Young can overcome being short. And I'd take Young's issue over Levis' issues 10 times out of 10.
  9. If the cap mattered to them (which it doesn't), then this could cause problems for them. As it is, though, they are going to be a bigger problem for us. He's automatically the best QB in the NFCS.
  10. yeah, i'm sure he would benefit from sitting and learning behind someone and probably someone that doesn't play much at all like him. find a guy who is more of a pocket passer just to help develop that part of him. but if he had to or we thought that he should be starting, i think he would still develop just fine with the coaching staff we have and, again, as long as the scheme is build around what he can and can't do well and then it grows as he grows.
  11. i wonder which Geno Smith? the one that took 10 years to come alive or the one that we see now? as far as the levis:allen comp....maybe. i think he's almost got as much work as AR to do to gain accuracy. my least favorite of the four. probably the lowest ceiling of them and second lowest floor. he does have a future as a mayonnaise spokesman. i actually think that you could start AR day one as long as you had an offense planned around his capabilities/limitations now. same with any of these guys. and then let the program grow as they grow...but keep them growing. AR has the room for growth, probably more than the rest of them, and he's got the drive, intelligence, and work ethic to do it.
  12. if they know who they want and want to make absolutely sure they get him, it won't take much to get the green light from the big boss man. they sell him on a star QB and he's going to ok anything they feel they need to do to get him. no more tepid tepper like we saw with him trying to get stafford.
  13. Seems like everyone is setting in on those three as the top ones, but far from a consensus on the order. Levis seems like he's on a downward slide, though. It might just be my imagination, but I could see him taking a Brady Quinn size slide.
  14. Dammit Juan. Title says we are interested. Tweet says we are expected to garner interest in him. And it fuggin has nothing to do with Harbaugh or Fangio. I fixed it all.
  15. It will be one of them....and they'll be great. Levis was a hard sell for me before the combine. Now he's just a weird, cocky, and overall underwhelming but over hyped QB prospect. Accuracy was a knock on both AR and Levis. It's still a knock on Levis. Do. Not. Want.
  16. Same here. I watched that out of curiosity because I was a Luck guy and had been for a good while. I was underwhelmed the first half, but the second half and hearing how he took charge during halftime and got the team fired up, I was hooked. I will say that what I have seen from AR and what he's capable of that I get a lot of the same vibe I had from watching Cam. He's got legit superhero potential. You find a way to harness and guide it and you've got yourself one of the most exciting studs the league has seen in a while.
  17. Keep Tremble. Replace the rest. Draft one day 2 and pick up one in FA.
  18. Adam schefter supposedly said it, which is what the hubub was about, but there was no actual quote cited. It was all someone saying he thought he said Schefter say something, but no citing was di e. Basically it's BS.
  19. I could see that with Rhule. Crap .... I could see that even with Rivera or Fox, especially Fox (because he really didn't like young QBd that you had to groom and develop). With the staff being put together the way it is, I really can't see us going with a QB that feels he's got no room or reason to develop and improve. We're going for a young QB that can be developed.
