Position upgrade that would improve our team the most? Why?

With all the talk about need a stud LT, do we really need a "stud"? The OL success comes as a unit, right? Been said countless times that OL is about chemistry.....not one great player! Does our OL need to improve? Yes, but it won't with one player....we had a pro bowl LT and we were mediocre at best on our OL. Stud LT the BPA for our team? I'm thinking not! What fixes our OL then? Discuss! ***save the cam can't throw from the ground**** I want depth in the response

Is a big play WR our BPA? I don't think so, however, a WR that commands double teams opens up our run game. Better run game keeps opposing Defenses honest, right? Upgrading our guards improve the run game? A true run blocking RT and RG? What says you? Cyril Richardson or Ja'Wann James truly our second Rd BPAs?

RB? Sure we claim to have a loaded stable. But, do we really? If the next AP is up for grabs, does that improve our team the most?

DE? We all know the cap issue and DG likes to fill the roster before the draft. Because of the cap, his philosophy is handcuffed. Will a stud DE be our BPA?

DT? As fans, we think we are set. Those big guys tire easily. Does three or more "starting" caliber DTs make our team better?

LB? We know the trials and tribulations of TD! He is an important piece! Does having a stand by guy of TD talent make our team better?

CB? Personally, I think a true shut down CB is the upgrade that improves our team the most! A guy that can truly cancel out the opposition's no.1. It's a no brainer in that the blitz package with our front seven can get stupid good! In turn, we create more turnover opportunities! My opinion only tho.

S? Shut down corner and our front seven the ballhawks at S should thrive!

Now, what are the risk that may cause our front seven to regress? Being on the field longer? Does having a better DL rotation improve our team the most?

I ask these question because I find BPA to be a relative term. He has to be the BPA for the team! I ask, what is that one positional upgrade that makes us a better team! It's not a stud LT, we had one and our OL was shabby at times!

if we had a stud LT on a shabby line and he's gone now, what word would you use to describe the OL now? poo? i would.

you are insane if you think adding either a stud LT or WR wouldn't help the team more than any other positions. same could bebsaid about corner. we've got crappy choices. all three positions are weak. WR was  decimated and we've barely done anything to rebuild what we had that wasn't all that good to begin with. the OL was weak and made incredibly weaker and we've done NOTHING to help it out.

if we don't address those two areas seriously during the draft in the first three rounds, we aren't getting better next year. upgrades there would absolutely help the team more than anything else.

Damn dude. You think were gonna have a losing season. Don't you?

I won't argue that the fear of regressing is valid. But OL is about chemistry, not individuals

LOL that is terrible logic. Why not put 4 of my buddies and myself in there we got great chemistry. If 3 or 4 of the OL individually suck I don't care how much chemistry they have.

If you look at the top teams they all have elite OL such as 49ers and Hawks.

Do you think our OL can hold up against the Seahawks Defense? Did you see what they did to Peyton Manning and their elite group of WRs/TE?

The hawks don't have an elite line, they can run block but not good in pass pro. But chemistry and continuity are really important on the oline

I'm never said the OL doesn't need to improve! It needed to improve when we had a pro bowl LT. A stud LT does not make us better than last year, keeps us the same! Assuming we have a competent LT, what would make our OL better?

didn't say that. i just don't see us doing better.

unless we do something to fix the OL and bring in at least one real receiving threat i think we'll be taking a step backward and while i don't expect it to be big enough for a losing season, it wouldn't surprise me.

if we really stick to this whole bpa thing, it's very likely that we go into the season with the offense as is. that isn't a good thing regardless of what that DL or LB corps looks like.
