Seahawks sending out UDFA brochures to agents

top dawg

Well, that's a first and a novel idea.  Here is an organization not stuck in a box in regards to doing business.  I wonder if it will have any effect.  I would think that a phone call or two (or three) to guys that you are genuinely interested in will do the trick. I know that we got Lester on the phone pretty quickly. Who knows though?

That damned Pete Carroll, John Schneider and Paul Allen (in a good way)!

If I'm an undrafted WR, especially with the bad light the media has given our situation (rightful or not), I'm praying Carolina calls to give me a shot this year. Would love to find a couple guys for depth/potential starters like we did last season via UDFA.

I do love the Seahawks organizational moves since Holmgren left them in a talent deficit while he was there and Cleveland...why is that guy in talent evaluation again?

Outta the box and against the grain" With A Plan" is a culture that works.

Other organizations that I feel have strong cultues I'd love

Patriots: Hate or love the Pats, Belechick goes after guys that he can coach..not drafting for an accumulation of talent for talents sake. Veteran presence make even the most disruptive players adhere to the Patriot way... In before spygate.

Ravens: Strong family structue, great talent evaluator in Ozzie Newsome. Aggressive in getting value free agents to compliment core players.

A testament is any Free Agent who visits them usually falls in love and signs; Jacoby Jones being on a plane to visit the Giants this offseason stopped the cab and took the offer to stay with a team he loves playing for. In before Murderer safe house.

Broncos: Peyton Manning creates his own culture whereever he goes but Denver has quickly become either a powerhouse or the Next "Dream Team" Eagles with all the aggressive First Tier free agents to give Manning weapons. In Before he he is the second best Manning.

Cultures that suck

Cleveland: no plan, quick trigger firing GM's and coaches with one of the least talented rosters in the league. ownership highly questionable. In before But History!

Cowboys: Jerry Jones hires Parcells as his own personal job shadowing apprenticeship. Fires the best thing in his org and has proceeded to get even Cowboy fans questioning the organization only very recently. And Tony Romo. In Before 6 rings or whatever.

Redskins: another overbearing owner. Joke. In before get Government outta sports names.

Saints: draft and sign douches...hope for the best...the downhill spiral begins. In before Harper is a Panther now!!

So what exactly is the new Panther culture? Overpay then cut, restructure and not pay anyone? We shall see it is early in the gettles era. Nothing keeps free agents away like cutting highly visible vets and being cheap. in before Laptop.

    • You’re playing madden we’re talking real football stuff…. He does have you seen his special on internet he def thinks he’s getting paid
    • Without the team having an identity kinda hard to predict what they value.  They either are really trying to build a balanced team, or preparing for another swing at qb if Bryce doesn’t pan out. Seems like we value the o line but the $ spent there has been underwhelming besides Lewis, you could say it’s because of injuries but still hasn’t been worth the investment. as already stated, the whole handling of Bryce young as a whole has been ass backwards, we spent the years we’re supposed to take advantage of having a qb with a lower cap hit, building the team up to be adequate. now It appears, key word appears, the saints have done it correctly, which is painful to even think about. Regardless, I hope the front office has paid attention to qb contracts recently, such as Tua, Kyler, Daniel jones(pre colts) and don’t settle for subpar qb play at franchise qb rates
    • This is the flaw in your logic.  Cutting 3 of our best players will somehow move us from whatever we are to "compete". Even the most Young super fans are not predicting a ceiling above top 10-12, and that will not nearly cut it.  Someone will need to break the log jam of QBs getting nothing or North of 50. Our qb is at best a middle ground, lets hope it will be us that also manage to pay the worth at about 100 over 3 years.  And before you jump me, yes that is only of he improves.
