What I Am Thinking

Recommended Posts

Looking at a lot of mocks and I think it is pretty safe to assume Cyrus nor Moses will be available at 28.

So that is gonna leave us with two likely options. JuWuan James and Joel Bitonio.

Out of these two I am unsure who I would prefer. First impression is James as I think he has more upside, just needs good coaching.

I think there are two darkhorse here to consider as well.

Allen Robinson

and

Jason Verrett

I would be pretty upset with Verrett as I simply am against drafting CB's in the 1st who are not physical specimens / all world players esp considering we are in dire straights with regards to OL and WR . With a great pass rush you can plug and play with your DB's for the most part and be ok.

My ideal scenario would be to double dip on OT the first two rounds (assuming Fleming not on the board in the 3rd when we pick) .

I actually think people will be pleasantly surprised with McNuts and King this year. Then look to sure up the WR corps next year.

His knee has been cleared and he was a top / elite OT prior to the health concerns who just wrapped up an All American season.

I don't think that makes him a lock to be picked higher than 28.  Teams are still going to be worried about the knee.  Star's issue checked out last year yet he still fell.  GM's outthink themselves all the time.

    • You’re playing madden we’re talking real football stuff…. He does have you seen his special on internet he def thinks he’s getting paid
    • Without the team having an identity kinda hard to predict what they value.  They either are really trying to build a balanced team, or preparing for another swing at qb if Bryce doesn’t pan out. Seems like we value the o line but the $ spent there has been underwhelming besides Lewis, you could say it’s because of injuries but still hasn’t been worth the investment. as already stated, the whole handling of Bryce young as a whole has been ass backwards, we spent the years we’re supposed to take advantage of having a qb with a lower cap hit, building the team up to be adequate. now It appears, key word appears, the saints have done it correctly, which is painful to even think about. Regardless, I hope the front office has paid attention to qb contracts recently, such as Tua, Kyler, Daniel jones(pre colts) and don’t settle for subpar qb play at franchise qb rates
    • This is the flaw in your logic.  Cutting 3 of our best players will somehow move us from whatever we are to "compete". Even the most Young super fans are not predicting a ceiling above top 10-12, and that will not nearly cut it.  Someone will need to break the log jam of QBs getting nothing or North of 50. Our qb is at best a middle ground, lets hope it will be us that also manage to pay the worth at about 100 over 3 years.  And before you jump me, yes that is only of he improves.
