Good to see a Panther's receiver catching his QB high ball like all the receivers on those so called elite teams. To be competitive, you've got to give your team weapons that they can compete with.

True.

I love how people (even Panther fans) love to point out Cam's high balls, as if it's something unique to him.

Just watch the Sunday ticket and red zone every weekend, or even the Playoff's. QB's all over the league (elite, good, bad, indifferent) throw high and under thrown balls all the time, but they're caught on the regular, so no one mentions it or cares.

High throws are in the footwork, and a lot of big qbs tend to have questionable footwork. A big running qb is the most dangerous combination because he is using his feet for potentially 2 purposes.  Cam throws high when he is pressured a lot or is in that zone where he thinks he may have to bail.  To correct the problem may lead to more sacks (in my opinion).  However, I think his accuracy issues are documented and not the norm around the NFL.

Cam had more bad first halves due to this problem.  He was getting the defense's best during the first half and he was often forcing the issue.  However, since our defense was holding the opposition to three and outs, he was able to get more chances and the opposing defenses started tiring in the fourth quarter--the same problem that afflicted us during RR's first years-our Defense gave out late in games.

That is how we won with the 28th ranked offense in the league.  Take away Cam's runs and we really were not effective on the ground or through the air.  I do not blame Cam for this, however, I blame injuries on the offensive line and our pathetic WRs, who struggled to get open and hold onto the ball when they did.

Not sure what you mean by this line (bold). But I don't think Cam is any more in-accurate than most QB's around the league (especially for his tenure). If anything, he may be in the more accurate bunch, throwing to small and not so talented receivers since in the league.

You know how many QB's get bailed for their high, short and near off the field passes on the regular every weekend (which gets dropped, tipped, missed or intercepted by Panther receivers)? Doesn't matter why it happens (pressure, footwork, etc.) They throw bad passes on the regular, and their receivers bail them out on the regular This is why I'm sure Gettlemen gutted the entire WR group. They sucked, and did Cam no favors (leaving aside the offensive line, and how Cam had to adjust/make due with the pass rush, and it's effects on his throwing).

Bottome Line: Anyone who watches other teams play on the regular KNOW, that all QB's throw high balls and bad ball numerous times during a game (for a multiplicity of reasons, having to do with the QB, Line, and Receiver). I think Cam is singled out here, quite honestly cause most Huddler's appear dumb, insular and oblivious to what happens in the rest of the league!!

Give Cam protection and better receivers, and watch the magic. He's already demonstrated this, when the line and his receivers (first year) were better.

    • You're assuming just as well.   Morgan and Canales were hired 3 days apart.  I believe it was partially due to their connections in Seattle.  i believe Tepper wanted some familiarity with his GM and HC.  It is so easy to sit back and arm-chair QB over draft picks.  You don't know what the philosophy was going into the 2024 draft.  I believe Canales and Morgan were drafting for the future.  XL and Brooks point to that philosophy. Name me one GM that is 100% on draft picks.  Just one.  You're not going to find one.    I think year one picks weren't for what can you do for me now but Potential.   XL hasn't lived up to the hype of a 1st rounder.  I think we all can agree on that. However, there still is hope he comes around.  What I believe they saw in him was his speed after the catch.  He needs to get more consistent but when he gets the ball you kind of hold your breath just a second because if he gets free, he's gone.  The Brooks pick was a signing for the future, and no one could have guessed he would re-injure the same ACL.  This makes the pick look bad but Dallas was ready to draft him later that same round.  IMO we'll have to see what happens next season before we can call this a bust. Wallace has improved each season and for a third rounder has done well.  Sanders has shown flashes and considering the pick in the 4th round it wasn't a bad pick.  His sophomore season IMO was a little bit more productive.  Smith-Wade has been a good addition and has played well.  For a 5th round pick to get as much playing time as he has.  Most picks below round 3 should take a couple of years to get up to speed.  He's been a decent player.  Crumedy, no comment We turned Barrett into Jackson.  This was an amazing move and basically got a starting CB for a 7th round pick.  Pretty shrewd if you ask me. Coker, maybe the best Free Agent signing of the 2024 draft class. So, in short, you can't say that the draft was a bust.  It isn't a home run but all but one are still on the team and outside of Brooks have made contributions to wins.  2025 draft class has been much better with almost every pick making contributions this season.  Now take Fitterer's two years and compare them to Morgan and tell me that they have the same philosophy.
    • He hasn’t led crap, he’s on loaded teams and a piece of the puzzle. And he’s he has improved drastically but it took the ultimate QB whispers in Shanahan and KOC. You put him on this Panther team and he’s back to normal Darnold
    • Slavin and Jarvis week to week. Florida cheap shots took out our two best players.  I’d start KK so he can beat the brakes off someone.
