Kemo out of surgery>>out for 9 months to a year

One of my best friends got to observe the procedure and it just ended a few minutes ago. Everything went well but the performing doc said he'd def miss all of this year and gave an eta of 9 months to a year.

One odd notable fact was that since he was so large they had a hard time locking down the operating table and it was not as balanced as they normally like for it to be.

Anyways... I dont think this news comes as a shock to anyone... still, it certainly sucks.

one of the team doctors for the Panthers says that ortho guys always overestimate so A: they don't look bad if complications arise and B: so that when they make a miraculous comeback it looks better on them. When Carson Palmer went down, the doctor who did the surgery said it was going to be a 15 month recovery when the tendon wasn't even fully torn and Carson was back six months later lol

but yeah, Kemo is done with the team. He's 31 and has a huge roster bonus coming up next year. Sorry big guy, thanks for the memories.

I was thinking something similar. I think we've seen Kemo in a Panthers jersey for the last time. I don't think he'll come back from this.

Palmer had surgery Tuesday in Houston. Doctors used grafts from other parts of his body and donated tissue to fix the damage during an operation that lasted more than two hours. Palmer headed back to California on Thursday to do his rehabilitation.

do you ever get tired of being wrong

    • Bryce and Dave will determine how many games this team wins next year. It’s not on the WRs. The RBs. LBs. This is about 2 things: 1. Can Bryce continue to come up big in the few key downs that decide most games?  2. Can Canales evolve his play calling to counter punch like the big boys do. Half time adjustments.  teams that score 30+ points on the regular win more games than not. That’s on Bryce and Dave. The offense is top 10 at every position group, save for TE and QB. A baller TE is gravy but not crucial when the receivers are dudes.  The defense is the defense. It’ll be better this season, hopefully by a large margin, but Dave/Bryce is really where it’s at.
    • Normally I'd wholeheartedly agree with this. But I feel like teams figured out this offense after the Raiders game. Bryce was so inept the first 2 games that we couldn't really even run the offense. Dalton's first game showed what we had. But after that game, coverages got a lot tighter and windows were smaller. When Bryce came back in, his ability to extend plays made a big difference. It's really difficult to stop a QB that can beat/escape 1on1 tacklers. It puts a lot of pressure on the defense when you blitz. And he was completing throws in tight coverage with anticipation. Point being Bryce wasn't throwing to wide open receivers that were schemed open by the offense. Occasionally yes. But not often.
    • With the additions we've made to our roster combined with the state of the division and the conference as a whole there is no excuse for this team not to make a legitimate push for 8-9 wins. Anything less is honestly inexcusable. There will be no more free passes for being a doormat in this iteration of the league where even mediocre teams are competing for playoff spots.
