We get #9

From what I have seen looks like he should go somewhere around #5. Any idea what it would take for us to move up from #9 to get him at 5 if he were there?

He'll go top5, probably top 4 to Orlando. The kid is a stud. I can't see him getting pass Orlando. Unless the Magic is willing to pass him up, they're the only team that may be consider trading down with us since they have two 1st (no4/no12). It'll take a lot to move up from no 9 to no4. Some other guys like CP8789 may be able to answer your question, but if I have to guess it be: no9, no24, + player(s) " MKG".

I wouldn't do it.

That's coming from you, a fan. You gotta be realistic. Al is getting older and may choose to chase after a ring.

The guy came from a town of 1200 people.  He has no problem mentoring guys as shown in his career in Minnesota and Utah.  Plus he could've went to a contender last year but chose Charlotte.  I just really feel he will stay but who knows.

What does a town of 1200 people have to do with Al trying to win a ring?

Al was looking for a big contract last year. Now, he has it. When guys get up there in age, they start to think about winning. Charlotte is improving, but not a legitimate contender yet.

I'm not saying Al will leave, but Im sure Al is thinking hard on it.

The town of 1200 was just a reference to humble beginnings. My bad for not elaborating.

If Randle or Vonleh falls it's a no brainer but that's extremely unlikely.  If Smart is there I would love him, him and Kemba could form such an interesting backcourt.  But if he's not Gordon and Stauskas are my next favorites, with Doug McDermott being next I think. Darkhorse is Josuf Nurkic.

    • New season new teams. Everyone we face has improved their team as well. There's now a full season of tape on Canales's offense and Bryce running it. When they win 7 games I will become a believer.
    • I mean I think its a bit disingenuous to call basically anyone here a casual fan. I don't think the casual fan creates a profile then logs into it, in the offseason, to comments on mundane offseason topics.. I dont think anyone on here would be considered a casual fan. That said, I get your point. My POV is from the player. They sign this contract, move their family because of these contracts. When Clowney came him, we basically had a coming home party for him.  So yeah, I get why we did it and I know that ultimately the owner doesnt 'save' money, but I can feel for the human side of the player, which is why I want them to get all they can while they can.
    • My guess is the NBA will either send Flagg back “home” to the Northeast in Brooklyn or Washington, or San Antonio so that they can keep building around Wemby. If I was a betting man I would take the odds on the Spurs. This definitely feels like a #1 pick that they will rig.
