I remember thinking the Lamar Lathon hit on Michael Irvin didn't look like anything special...until Irvin didn't get up.

Later on someone (Sam Mills, i think) drove Deion Sanders head into the ground.  You could tell that one hurt.

Wasn't it all 4 linebackers at the same time?  It was at least 2 or 3 I remember that thinking, he dead. (Sanders hit)

It was Terrell this game. I was only 10 but I remember the Pat Terrell interception vividly for some reason.

I actually looked it up.  Turns out my vague recollection was correct,  Both Cota and Terrell had interceptions.  And oddly enough, each with 49 yard returns (checked that in a couple of places because it seemed odd).

Sam Mills actually had one too.  I remember that now after seeing it in the box score.

It was a great game :D

Might have been.  My memory says Mills and maybe one of the DBs hit him but it could have been linebackers.

Whomever it was, I knew he wasn't getting up.

Fair enough. Nice research. I believe the Terrell interception came late in the 4th. I think that's why I remember it because it clinched the game. I agree that it was a great game!

Wouldn't call it "research" so much as just a quick Google to satisfy my aging brain

The middle of the line was the strength of it.

On the outside we had Norberto Garrido manning the right side (remembered mostly for taking his wife's maiden name and hyphenating) and at the left, matt Campbell, a guy who converted from another position (tight end).

I'm suddenly getting an odd sense of deja va

Also have this on a now useless VHS tape...I remember late in the game one of the Cowboy receivers getting 2 big receptions in a row on Poole (?) before Terrell jumped the 3rd one.

The Mills INT pretty much ended the game and I want to say he took a knee but it's been awhile.

    • I've been iffy on Canales till now but this season has put me in his corner. He certainly still has areas that need improvement, but I do believe he can be "the guy". Admittedly, what I had hoped for was a chance to see Canales with a different quarterback. That particular scenario now looks to be, at the very least, a few seasons away. Gotta say also that we'd be remiss to have an offseason discussion and not reference Dan Morgan and the front office. What I see from there (especially since the addition of Brandt Tilis) is starting to look pretty positive. Here's hoping...
    • He is certainly durable for his size I'll give him that. Whether or not he'll actually carve out a Doug Flutie kind of career remains to be seen. He has the benefit of playing in an era of the league that many former QB's would envy let's be honest. I think it really comes down to his desire to continue to overcome adversity and work on his craft. Whatever happens to conclude this season he will certainly be here next year and my hope is that he enters the upcoming offseason highly motivated to build on any progress he's made. The last thing we need is a repeat of the last 3 offseasons.
    • Yeah, don't ser how I missed that. Sorry, @Mr. Scot
