Kaepernick gets mega-deal

A lot of haters on this board, put Kap's professional resume against Cam an tell me who you want. 3 NFC titles and a Superbowl apperance.  3 road playoff wins. If I remember correctly it was your other worldly Qb CHOAKING at Home! YOu talkk about all this talent Kap has, but wasnt it the Panthers with the best D-line in NFL, top 5 rushing team and according to you a future hall of fame Qb. You would give anything to be in our postion playing for the chance to go the Big Game, but your stuck here complaining about how youll getem next year. Cam has regressed each year when the team around him has gotten better.  His 42 int's an a number of them in important moments says enough about his development.  He will end up being famous for getting kicked out of Florida for stealing computers and cheating his way out of a University. Hes 2nd tier compared to the Red an Gold

Initially, Kaepernick smartly steps up in the pocket, but he never settles again. Instead, his eyes drop to the flat as he scrambles towards the sideline. Davis is wide open at this point and Kaepernick would have had an easy touchdown pass if he was still standing tall in the pocket and had read through his progression properly. At least, an easy touchdown for him.

It’s tough to blame Davis, because Kaepernick should have seen him much earlier and delivered the ball on time. This is a good example of a play that shows off a quarterback who has all the physical traits needed to excel, but a quarterback who hasn’t yet mastered the position.

Kaepernick immediately turns away from Boldin, understanding that he can’t throw him the ball. He looks straight at Crabtree who is wide open for a quarterback with Kaepernick’s arm. However, as Kaepernick turned, his feet spread out and he set up his body to scramble into the flat rather than make an immediate throw.

With a less talented or lazier receiver than Crabtree, this play would likely have resulted in a sack or an incompletion. Instead, Crabtree and Kaepernick’s incredible athletic ability masks his poor quarterback play.

Does Cam get less because Cam wins less? ISnt this a performance based league? Based on resume, why in the world would Cam get more than Kap. They both came out in the same year, Niners hadnt been to the playoffs since 2002 when Kap was drafted in 11. Cant see why Newton has an argument for getting a bigger contract.

So you think salary should be directly correlated with wins? fug you'd be a brilliant GM.

try not to use your very little brain too much.  best advice for you is to sit very quietly in a very dark corner and not expose your blatant ignorance.

No I think it should be based on what have you done for me lately and Cam has regressed from All world unstoppable with less talent around him to just a pretty good QB with more talent around him. Panthers as a whole have gotten better no question and Cam has not.

Jim Trotter ‏@JimTrotter_NFL 3m I'm told Kaepernick knew his contract's structure benefitted team, but was willing to bet on himself & take less to keep talent around him.

Jim Trotter ‏@JimTrotter_NFL 37s Kaepernick and the 49ers discussed in detail BEFOREHAND what the structure of the deal would mean for BOTH sides. He was good with it.

Ppl hated the guy when they thought he made the most money because of course the media hype then they laughed at the guy when they found out it was much less then the amount they hated him for signing.

Lol.  This deal he signed is by far the most unselfish contract any QB other than Brady has put on his team.

I hope Cam does the same thing but I already know all QB's especially the young ones are hating Kap for this one.

Setting the standards for a leader in a money hungry, greedy, team destroying feeding frenzy, known as the franchise QB contract.

So your saying obviously you know what I was talking about and you cannot explain these "variables".  Original, no one has ever commented on grammer in a message board.  Wonder if Cam can spell "variables" I know for a fact he can explain excuse

    • Right, so basically what I said in my first post about this last night. Tepper needs to use that big wallet of his in one of the few ways it can be used in the NFL given the cap.   Give Scourton a bigger signing bonus but not a fully guaranteed deal. Everyone wins in that scenario as if Scourton is smart and hires good money people, he'll take that bigger signing bonus and use it to make more money in the end over the next 4 years than if he just had his fully guaranteed deal and a smaller signing bonus.
    • It is all confusing and layered. SB is the cash you get very soon within weeks or in simple terms, its what you get to sign the paper work. Players and agents can agree on contract but what to "wait" to sign......teams don't like that cause you can "Carlos Boozer" yourself. In order to get that ink dry, while keeping the contract the same, portion it as a bonus to "sign" and get the funds with ________ .   * But Ive seen worded contracts that split the SB or a 20% to a later date. The beans counters can fill in the details about why certain dates are better and save the team money.. Theres tricks to the trade and accounting is full of them.    Ugh another big layer, is SB can be used to manipulate cap and players. Ill try to give a example that makes enough sense. Believe it or not having a owner like Tepper is a cheat code for this. He has cash in hand, where as Mark Davis had problem making pay roll and had to move the team to Vegas....... Tepper can give you 100,000,000 SB right now and the team can spread out the cap hit. Another owner doesn't have or want to give the player 100,000,000 in cash, but offered the same guaranteed contract in roster bonuses fully guaranteed over the next few years........ Which one do you want??? Everyone wants the money now, not before another inflation waves hits in 2 years. So it does 'pay" to have a owner like tepper that's able to have real cash on hand, while it also works GREAT for cap help. Heres a good video, if you can stand coked up pat and mask look-a-like AJ
