Just saw on ESPN.  Chris Broussard just commented that the Charlotte Hornets are very interested in Lance Stephenson and plan to make a strong run at him.

Wll update when I find internet link.

This was on Sportcenter right before FIFA pregame.

Not sure how I feel about this. Good player but not worth BIG BIG money

I suppose it could be possible that Henderson could be a part of that undisclosed trade with our 2nd round pick.  Sign Stephenson and Deng and we look pretty good.

Kemba

Stephenson/Hariston

Deng/MKG

Zeller/Vonleh

Jefferson/Biyombo

I guess if that did happen McBob is probably gone, but hey worse things have happened.  Considering Cho has said that backup PG is a huge need.  It could be that Deng is the secondary option if we can't land Stephenson.  Then we could probably resign McRoberts and sign a backup PG.

I doubt Chris Broussard actually has a source on that, but a lot of people have speculated about it and I absolutely agree that we should go after him.  Players this young and talented rarely become available as unrestricted free agents, and Indiana will have a tough time keeping him and staying under the tax line.  We may not even have to overpay

He's a little out of control on the court at times but players tend to improve on that as they gain experience.  I would love to add a guy with his competitiveness and ball handling ability (we really need someone else who can take the pressure off Kemba at times).

Zach Lowe had a good article a few weeks ago about his upcoming free agency

Ariza, Parsons, or Turner could all be viable options as well at SF.

If we're planning on really seeing what MKG can do this year, keep an eye on PJ Tucker.  He could compliment him well.

Broussard is an idiot. Hope it's true so.

I would be extremely excited! Lance would make the most sense tho regarding FA. He fills a need and def can generate the floor. Instantly upgrade Kemba at P/R.

If it's any comfort for you.  He seemed like he was honestly reporting.  He almost called us Bobcats.  I don't think a guy stuck up the Heat, Lakers, Bulls, and Knicks poohole would report on us if there wasn't some truth.

Agreed.  Not sure if we could land Parsons and Stephenson...maybe Ariza, doubtful for Tuner.  Not saying Deng is the best option....he just definitely not the worst, and he could fill a role we need filled.

    • So the last guy who had the job got hired by his former team directly into a role he has no direct experience in?
    • Hard to pass up millions for a couple of days work per week for a coaching gig in the NFL that is 60-80 hours each week during the season and a more relaxed 50 hours a week during the off season. Yeah, I'd love to see him as our DC but hard to see him giving up the cushy job there if he gets it. And he's going to be a great commentator for the network.
    • Really, I think that is where negotiations come in. If you've got a QB getting you to 10 wins but statistically he's not a great performer, then you say look you can take $22 million or you can try it on the market. Because let's face it, out there, any leadership skills that we're seeing aren't going to be on the table, it's just going to be performance and that lands him in the QB2 market, which is much, much less lucrative (although any of us would love that money).  No one is saying that Bryce will be a $50 million QB, barring something short of a miraculous jump. I'm just saying that if we are winning somehow with him at the helm, then it would be fuging stupid to dive back into the rookie pool all over again. Let's say we do hit the 10 win mark, heck, let's call it 11 and a second round in the playoffs. I think we can all say that would be a really uplifting result and one that should be doable if we have good play. What do we do then? Here's what I would offer if I were Morgan and Tepper. $25 million a year for 3 years, each year with up to $10 million in incentives for touchdowns, wins, playoff depth, being under 10 interceptions, completing a full season, passing yardage milestones, taking less than 15 sacks. Look, Bryce isn't a Ferrari, he isn't a Corvette, or a mid-level BMW. He's probably a new Toyota Sienna that will definitely get you somewhere and bring the whole team along with it, no fuss but not a lot of pizazz.  And really, it's about the destination, not about what drove you there.
