Cam and high throws.

I've begun to think it's something of a common trait to 'gunslinger' types.  Delhomme was known for that too.  It's a mechanics thing.

You do what you can to coach stuff like that, but sometimes the smarter thing to do is adjust your roster.

Hence, Kelvin Benjamin and a receiving corps with only two guys under six feet (5'10 and 5'11)

I just love how all of the resident experts always say he is throwing off his back foot. If it were that simple don't you think he would have corrected it by now?

Exactly. And for those saying bum ankle blah blah did u not watch panther games last season? He always had balls sailing on him.

Olsen is 6'5 I think and he missed him a couple of times last season. I think I remember one in the playoff game. Heck he even did that today in practice. I doubt it's all about height.

There are quarterbacks who go their entire careers with mechanical issues (Kerry Collins, for example) so no it's not such an easy thing to correct.

And the reality is that all the coaching in the world can be completely nullified by sticking a quarterback behind a bad offensive line.  A quarterback who's constantly having to run for his life tends to be one who will have bad habits reinforced rather than fixed.

They'll continue coaching his mechanics and, hopefully, we'll see better OL play this season.  But in the meantime, tall long-armed receivers are a pretty good adjustment.

    • Having trouble finding all these articles saying the Raiders withheld information. Here’s the latest from Crosby’s surgeon: ElAttrache told ESPN's Adam Schefter on Wednesday morning that Crosby was "doing very well in the early part of his rehab and recovery from surgery to treat a significant meniscus tear and the related stress injury to the bone and cartilage in his knee. He is certainly on track in his planned program." "We truly respect the work of the Ravens' staff with Maxx regarding the contract physical exam. We also understand the challenge the staff faces when tasked to provide a future risk assessment based on an evaluation early in the recovery process," ElAttrache said. "This is especially challenging when dealing with an elite player like Maxx considering the level of commitment necessary for a team to obtain him. The timing of this assessment is unfortunate because the apparent risk will lessen as his recovery progresses and his return to performance over the next few months becomes clear."     So the Ravens excuse is the future risk assessment based on the physical, not that the Raiders withheld information. They found an excuse to save face publicly. They had the right to cancel the trade for no reason at all, but they’re trying to save face with the most acceptable reasoning they can find. I’ve heard and seen the Ravens getting dragged everywhere for this. You know what would be an easy way to put a stop to that if you’re the Ravens and the Raiders were actually the shady ones withholding information? Just come out and say that you were not given all the medical information. But they aren’t saying that. I guess they’re just taking the bullet for the Raiders just because?    Speculation indeed.
    • Two first round picks for a guy with very questionable knees who will be 29 this summer. Yes it is safe to say the Ravens got cold feet.
    • The salary cap is the reason we got Phillips and Lloyd
