PSLs

My dad is looking into buying some but I don't really understand the point of them. He thought it meant you owned the seats and don't have to buy season tickets every year. But you do right? What's the benefits? Inform me.

PSL are a "Personal Seat License" ... it just gives you the right to buy season tickets and playoff tickets.  You own the seat right and can sell it, etc.  The Panthers have some PSL's left, etc from ones that were never bought.  But yeah, you are still buying the tickets every year.  The PSL cost is a one time thing.  One more thing, if you dont buy the tickets you lose the license or better sell it or pay for your tickets before that happens.

There are literally no benefits, unless you're Jerry Richardson. It greatly benefits him, mainly his wallet. You have to pay the thousands of dollars for the PSL (for every individual seat) plus the normal price for season tickets. Then you buy season tickets every single year thereafter. And you have to buy season tickets every single year or they take away your PSL and sell it to someone else, and you lose all of that money. You pay a ridiculous amount of money to feel entitled and feel special and walk around saying "I'm a PSL owner!" About the only benefit I see is being able to keep the exact same seat every year, but that's also a negative. If you just buy season tickets you can switch up sections every year and view the stadium from different angles.

Why anyone would pay throw away all that money for nothing is beyond me. And it's not like the tickets will ever become UNC-Duke @ Cameron levels of expensive and hard to get. There will always be seats reserved for season tickets and individual purchase. You'll always be able to get in the stadium anytime you please.

Don't let them tell you "well when the team wins a Super Bowl and tickets are 500% face value it'll be worth it." No it won't. It all evens out because you're still having to buy all those tickets when the team is 2-14 and the laughing stock of the league.

My dad bought a pair of PSLs in '95. He paid nearly $20k for 2 PSLs and has paid fill price for season tickets (full price for all preseason games also) for 20 years now. All those losing seasons, '01 1-15 & '10 2-14 teams that were unwatchable included, and he still had to fork over the money just to keep from losing his PSLs. Whereas I didn't buy PSLs, and I've never even bought season tickets because you have to pay full price for 2 preseason games. I've been to all but 5 games in Charlotte since '96. And I didn't have to buy PSLs or season tickets. Yeah, last year and this year I'll be paying a bit over face value, but all those years the team sucked I either got tickets for a fraction of the cost, and a lot of times people just gave them to me. I've sat in about every upper and lower level section and seen the stadium from all angles. Whereas my father has paid out of his ass every year and sees the games from the same seat every year.

Don't be a sucker.

One. Post.

We wouldn't even have a fuggin' team here if it were not for PSL owners.  You obviously know this, so why are you bashing them so hard?  Some people buy PSL for return on investment [bad investment given our team history], and some people buy them to feel a sense of connectivity to the organization that they love.  But thanks for the soap box.

You can't seriously believe that. I bet Jerry Richardson could've sold oceanfront property in Arizona to the suckers around here.

Oh yeah, well I get a free PSL Owner sticker for my car every year. This year it's a 20 year anny sticker. Who's the sucker now.

On a serious not I feel you but there are some perks. My son got to be honorary team captain one year because of the PSL Perks thing. My only concern is if the team moves or builds a new stadium then I lose out, but oh well.

I mean the memory my son has from this make the PSL fee well worth it and then some. Midfield for the coin toss of a freakin NFL game. That's him in the Newton jersey. Thanks PSLs.

Psl owners built BOA stadium. And if it were not for the PSL owners commitment, the NFL would have never granted Carolina a team. So, you must be confusing our sense of pride with entitlement.

No they didn't.

Yes they would've.

PSLs got us this team. Without the commitment your dad, my parents, and thousands of other people made back before we got the team, the NFL would never have given JR the franchise. That is a simple fact. These people were not suckers. It's because of them you even have games to go to. They have every right to feel entitled.

Also, while we were one of the first team to finance a stadium this way, it has since become the standard.

    • It wasn’t completely his fault, but outside of two throws and one or two scrambles he didn’t do much to help. His accuracy was all over the place, numerous passes that were placed poorly and didn’t give the receiver a good chance to catch the ball or do anything with it after. He also continues to display terrible pocket awareness. Even the sacks could have been avoided, they weren’t immediate like the pressure we got on Shough at times. Bryce just often has no feel for pressure and stands there waiting to get sacked after numerous seconds have passed.
    • I really fuging hate this era in so many ways.  I look at those Adin Ross and Neon kids, and I just wonder why tf are they famous?  Why would anyone be desperate enough to gain THAT audience that they’d risk money, career, disciplinary action to go up there and associate with those fuging dweebs?  And back in my day, racist peers got their ass beat.  And not endorsing or approving bully culture, but checks and balances and all…  had those two been bullied, or at the very least humbled, they wouldn’t be famous and glorified for being the fuging idiots they are now.  It seriously pisses me off… they both have done and said multiple, openly racist stuff and major media keeps pushing them, talking about them, and propping them up… and then dummies like Puka who don’t need the platform or exposure lend their celebrity to them.  fuging idiot… and even the other streamers, I don’t get - Speed, Kai…  I don’t understand making nobodies famous at all, but there is at least entertainment value to some degree there, and I could see how young, impressionable kids would find them something to aspire to (sadly), or view as “cool.”  But Ross and Neon?  They’re just shitty, shitty nerds with big ass mouths. I’ve went back recently and watched some classics (in two very different eras and categories 😂)  like Robocop and Idiocracy.  And what I find fascinating is how both movies illustrate how stupid society became by showing what the citizenry is entertained by.  In both, society became anti-intellectual and the citizenry were entertained by lowest denominator, primal-type absurdity - poo like, “Ouch! My Balls!”  Or on Robocop, a guy is a watching a show where they are smashing cakes on ladies’ breasts and then a guy says a line as the camera zooms in like, “I’d buy that for a dollar!” and the audience thinks it’s hilarious.  That’s where I feel like we are now.  Like who watches that clip with Puka and thinks any of that poo is funny or cool?  If I was Puka, I’d honestly be wondering why tf I’m hanging out with these beta ass, racist, cretin ass weirdos.
    • 7 wins this year and some of those against really good teams and yall think Canales might get fired? Lol Good luck getting a better coach in here if that happens.
