Adam Schefter makes the world aware we have zero receivers that caught a pass from last year

I wonder how many of these National media that quickly regurgitate the Wide Receiver argument, even know Olsen was the Panthers leading receiving last year, and how bad Lafell, and diminished Steve Smith were?

All of them but its aight we will prove them wrong again

Funny, how the National Media's always against Cam and the Panthers (duh).

Think about it?

Last year, they call the offense horrendous (though it was very efficient), albeit similar to San Fran and Seattle--minus the all pro RB's--thanks to the Cam factor.

Now during the Preseason, the receivers from that "dreadful" offense, are all of a sudden all world. Note, they never even consider that Newton is so good (after all, look at his big play, first downs when the receivers, OL and RB's struggled) that the Panthers could never have such a bad offense, especially with new additions. Of course, they're many other examples.

Go Figure!

While it is technically correct, it is misleading in it's intent.

Aka... It's Adam Schefter

Right!

A Receiver (some one who catches the ball), can be a receiver (a wide Receiver) or a Receiver of the ball (such as a Tight End). :startle:

National Media just keeps it to the WR's, though a TE was actually the teams leading receiver--catching the ball (not including WR and TE new additions).

Got it!?

Classic...media making a statement without actually watching the panthers play last season. If you even watched a game, you would know our offense ran through Olsen. I think it's pretty obvious we upgraded the receive corps this year...even though it was a scary and painful process for most of us. Cheers.

If he were the first , second, or even the 4,293rd person to "report" this, there would be nothing wrong with it.

Since every mouth breathing cock holster with a spare minute and an outlet to express his views has said this since we released Smitty it has become a bit derogatory in its message.

    • You are right--it was DC.  I remember talking to him at Belk in Albemarle one day--the Panthers were on a bye and they were (at the time) a disapointing 4-4.  I mentioned that the record was disappointing and he seemed to get a bit annoyed.  He dId not say anything.  I trying to suggest that we will get better, but I think he was pretty upset about it.  No hard feelings, but the man was simply trying to shop with his wife and this annoying jerk starts making comments about his job---I get it.  I apologized, telling him that I was trying to be supportive and not critical--he did not think it was a big deal.  I'd see him at events from time to time-he'd wave or say hi, but it was awkward for me.  Figured I would say something stupid.  Jordan was pretty popular--nothing like she seems to be now--she is holding her own in a man's world...proud of her.
    • Like we have had the last 3 years.
    • In May of 2026, it looks like a challenging schedule...and it probably is.  I rarely listen to the "strength of schedule" conversations that light up social media this time of year. Each year teams improve and decline. I think there's chunks of the year we need to take care of business and the week 5 bye is not desired.  I do think if we don't hit the bye week at 3-1, it's going to be a major uphill battle given the schedule in front of us. This season falls on three people, regardless of schedule strength: Canales, Bryce, Evero.  Canales: Finally can truly coach all aspects of the team and not focus with gameday prep for OC duties anymore. He drives the bus and needs to get these guys in position to win each week. There's no way vets come in and put it on the line every week to watch our QB sh!t the bed (See: SF game last year). Bryce: Despite everyone's obsession with thinking Bryce is a guaranteed extension, I think this year will truly be his "prove it" year. If he comes out the way he has the past three years, I really don't see how vets and coaches can continue to put him under center long-term. He might play out that fifth year as the starter, but I think next offseason his long-term replacement is found. I also think there's no excuses with the weapons and commitment we've made on offense to insulate him with every possible weapon.  Evero: Best personnel he's had since he's been here...no excuses. Figure out how to blitz effectively. Figure out how to use CBs whose strengths are press/man. Figure out how to utilize a talented front-7 to get the hell of the field. Outside of FS and maybe....maybe ILB, there are few weaknesses on this unit.
