AT&T Uverse

Only an idiot would throw away 5-10 grand on a 4k TV.

Cable, satellite, video games, streams, BluRay, DVD, etc is only broadcast in 1080 or 720. There is literally nothing available that is 4k definition. The only thing you can look at in 4k right now is pictures taken from a $5,000-$10,000 4k camera. That's it. That's why the only thing they display in Best Buy & other stores on those things are photos snapped from a 4k lens. Otherwise it would be fraudulent advertisement.

And 4k isn't coming anytime soon to cable or satellite. Providers aren't gonna spend millions to make that change when 99% of their customers have 1080 tvs.

Enjoy seeing a 1080 resolution picture on your $10,000 4k screen. Retard.

u can get a 60 Inch 4k tv for 1500 to 3000. There are even 70 Inch tv's that cost less than 5k.

You can get 4Ks for less than that, but smaller screen sizes so you definitely won't tell a difference. There is 4K content available; netflix streams some shows in 4K already. 4K Blu-Ray is coming next year.

The biggest problem with 4K content is that 98% of it is extremely compressed.

So now I have ended up filing a claim against AT&T.

Come to find out the motherboard of my TV was damaged, presumably from the Uverse connection. The total cost of fixing the TV is upwards of $300.

I'm claiming that the damage was caused by ATT, as I had never had any problems at all until Uverse was connected.  The company that handles the claim is saying I will have to provide all of the proof that ATT was at fault.

Has anyone else been in a situation like this?  I'm thinking I probably won't win the claim, but I had to give it a shot.

I heard of people having similar claims and no, they did not win.  Your best bet is to get HBO free for 3 months.

Is it even worth fixing your TV?  I mean for $700 you can get a pretty good brand new TV.

Yeah it's right on the border of not worth to fix.  I decided to go ahead and just fix it because it's a nice 42 inch, 1080p smart TV.

I should get plenty more years of usage out of it down the road.

Amazon has Vizio 42 inch 1080p Smart TV for $399.  Best Buy does amazon price match for everything.
