Who was it that told me the meatloaf at Tavern on the Tracks was good?

I question the sensibilities of anyone who thinks they can dismiss meatloaf as peasant food.

Sent from Carolina Huddle App for Android.

I make it for my family all the time.  Why? Because it takes about 10 minutes of prep time and then pop it in the oven.

Why would I pay 10 bucks for something like that at a restaurant?

Because it's comfort food.

Not everyone can make a poo loaf in 10 minutes and force their family to suffer through it.

When I make a meat loaf it takes at least 30-45 minutes to prep everything then an hour to cook plus all the sides.

My time = money and therefore I get an ROI on a good $10 meatloaf.

I'm sorry but the entire premise of meatloaf is to make your meal go further with inexpensive ingredients.  Cost effective and easy to make, filling too.  We all know that peasant food is good food.  Have you even seen Ratatouille?

For the record i'm not "dismissing" meatloaf as a peasant food.  That's not the proper term.  I'm merely classifying it.

also WTF are you putting in your meatloaf that takes 35-40 minutes of prep time...certainly nothing I've ever seen in a restaurant meat loaf.

I let the meat come to room temp

I saute an assortment of veggies.depending on what I am feeling like.

I toast bread crumbs

I make the meatloaf glaze
