Avant and Gano Talk About Their Faith

Not sure why people take this stuff so personal. To each his own. If I say the McRib gives me superpowers and heals diseases and it makes me a better person, then who cares if I super size it?

Agree. I think many worry that those like Avant and Gano may be right. If not, then who cares?

Everything is up for criticism.

So you seriously think things are respected on these boards lol

We can't discuss any further without taking this to the Tinderbox, Cat!  LOL...

In all seriousness, I just feel like if it's related to our players and it's regarding personal beliefs in this forum, then we should leave this one be and save the debate for one of the hundreds of Tinderbox threads on religion that always predictably play out much like this one has.

And there is a huge difference between criticism and outright disrespect.  Often, when it is regarding personal beliefs, outright disrespect veils itself as criticism.  This thread is proof of that.  I don't see how what was posted, in title or substance would be offensive to anyone that they would feel the need to criticize unless they went to great lengths to be offended.  The title doesn't mention their specific faith and the OP requires one to click on the links to watch the videos.

Yet, we have people now pinning down Avant and Gano for not solving the world's problems because they are religious people?  That's pretty unfair.

    • A team should always be putting at least one or two draft picks in at tackle and guard each season. Those guys just don't last nearly long enough and those that do get very, very expensive. In our situation, we need a little more time to see what the Icky injury works itself out to. Njiman performed really well out there and if this injury lingers into the next season, then he might do well enough there to hold the line for the team. Or we could draft early if there is a stud LOT in the draft when our spot comes along.  Honestly, we may be looking at replacing both LT and RT this season at this point. Moton is getting long in the tooth and while he deserves a shot to go for a playoff run with this team, I don't know whether we will really see him come back next season yet. It's still so darned early in all of this to say.
    • Because we had a ton of things go our way this year and made the playoffs with a -70 point differential.  This year was the outlier.  Regression to the mean is unavoidable.  So the team will have to significantly improve to beat 8 wins next year.
    • One thing I noticed in this game (and I say this as the biggest of Bryce Young haters) is that Bryce did do a solid job of throwing into voids in this game, and leading receivers on crossers.  There were a few times where I was thinking "where the hell is he throwing it" only for a receiver to appear out of nowhere and catch it in stride.  Mike McDaniel might be a guy that can squeeze a little bit of production out of the otherwise ghastly Bryce Young. His offenses heavily feature that style of passing game.  I've heard Idzik is drawing interest from other teams.  If so, bringing McDaniel in at OC would be a stellar move.  I know it'll never happen, but fun to think about.
