Rivera Press Conference 9/8

Kelvin Benjamin got a game ball.

Rivera on Benjamin: "He did a lot of good things but it doesn't speak to his whole body of work. He has to understand how to finish plays."

Rivera says team gave rookie WR Kelvin Benjamin a game ball for his production but he needs to be better with the nuances.

Offensively "we want to continue to run the football and on defense figure out how to try and attack Calvin" versus Detroit.

DeAngelo "ran very hard".

"One victory does not mask the problems we have got to get corrected".

I hate that the league seems hell bent on getting the scores of each team above 30. With the ticky tack calls on DB's, who knows that they would not turn a blind eye to a little DE holding.

I know, I am just ranting

Rant on brother! That bull crap roughing the passer call gave them a little hope and a TD for their "comeback" soon after that DA was high lowed and driven into the ground well after the ball was out and there was no call.

These refs need to stop worrying about the score and do their jobs unless that is their job. I don't trust NFL refs after the 49ers coronation we were invited to last year. Rivera said he should have kept his cool but when you realize that your not just playing another NFL team but the refs and Vegas too it can seem daunting.

I hope coach continues to call them out on their BS calls. Keep Pounding

Bad calls/no calls all game

Hmmm...

You spend your whole high school career waiting for the moment that you can get out from under the thumb of your local principal. You escape and get yourself a great job, only to find you're still answering to your principal!

That was the situation of Tampa Bay's Doug Martin on Sunday. Well, sort of. Peter Morelli, who refereed Martin's game against the Carolina Panthers, also happens to be the principal of St. Mary's High School in Stockton, Calif. And that's the high school Martin attended. Martin embraced Morelli during the game, which surely raised a few eyebrows among fans not sure of their connection.

No word on whether Morelli slapped Martin with extra detention. But if Morelli throws flags on his misbehaving students, he's officially the best high school principal in the country. (We assume his students don't ask for booth reviews of his decisions.)
